Read New America Storyline:
NEW AMERICA: UTOPIA CALLINGBy the mid twenty-first century civilization is experiencing a hangover from the boom times and rampant consumerism of previous decades. Food prices and unemployment are at all-time highs, while emergency food and water and energy rationing are the norm.
To reduce humanity's ecological footprint, and stave off a worldwide catastrophe, governments around the globe begin to miniaturize segments of their populations and relocate them to mini-utopias free of poverty, hunger, and for the most part, crime.
When Bob and Maureen Smith lose their life savings in a bad investment, and their only daughter a month later, they take the plunge and miniaturize. Yet when Maureen backs out at the last moment, Bob finds himself on his own in the strange new world - and discovers it's not all it's cracked up to be.
Interview with the Author
Q - So, who are your favorite authors and why?
A - I grew up reading all the big names in horror like Stephen King and Dean Koontz and James Herbert and Clive Barker. I've also always enjoyed Bentley Little and Richard Laymon. Recently I'm getting into some new names in dark suspense like Bobby Adair and Joe Hill and Blake Crouch.
I also like a lot of crime authors who write urban murder stories such as Martina Cole, Lisa Gardner, Linwood Barclay, Harlan Coben, Karen Slaughter, and so forth.
Why do I like them? They write great horror/thriller/suspense stories that check all the boxes: realistic characters, scary settings, real chills, lurking dread, danger, fast pacing, plots twists. And they also experiment with genres, mixing horror with science fiction, or psychological suspense with supernatural suspense, or occult thrillers with crime thrillers, and so forth. Furthermore, I enjoy writers who have a flare for creating engrossing moods, whether they are dark, disturbing, scary, vengeful, you name it.
Q - What other books do you have available?
A - I started out writing in the thriller and suspense genres with White Lies. Then I moved on to action adventure with The Taste of Fear. However, now I am firmly in the horror game. My books are as follows in order of publication:
White Lies
The Taste of Fear
Suicide Forest
Black Canyon
The Catacombs
Run
Helltown
-Rewind
-Neighbors
-Dark Hearts
-Island of the Dolls
Q - So, why should readers give these books a try?
A - Because they are scary and fast-paced and include quite a few surprises and plot twists (and the occasional touch of humor). Moreover, the settings are unique, ranging from urban cities to haunted forests to isolated islands to small towns to exotic beaches. Finally, they have all hit the top ten bestsellers list in Kindle's Suspense/Thriller/Horror categories, and they have been featured in Amazon's Thrillers 100 Must Reads list.
