Last Shot is the SIXTH offbeat (and very funny) mystery in the Dev Haskell Private Investigator series.Dysfunctional PI Dev Haskell receives a request from beautiful, red-headed Desi Quinn to investigate the trumped-up charges that ruined her life and sent her to prison six years ago. Desi's life was destroyed after a brief relationship with upstanding citizen, Man-of-the-Year Gaston Driscoll, who just happened to be her boss. She views Dev as her last hope--her last shot--but the impossibly dangerous scenario she describes makes Dev think the investigation would be out of his league; he politely declines.
As Desi's story slowly unravels, Dev realizes (under a mountain of guilt) that he made a huge mistake. He embarks on a mission to make things right, only to become a killer's next target. An entertaining tale of intrigue, rank ineptitude, and raucously entertaining one night stands, Last Shot is another funny, fast paced, engrossing thriller from Minnesota’s master of the bizarre.

Minnesota author Mike Faricy puts one more notch on his Dev Haskell series with Last Shot. Set in his hometown of St. Paul, Minnesota I found myself either laughing out loud or crying with tears running down my face. You're totally involved from the hilarious first chapter to the heartbreaking conclusion...The Bookshelf
From the Author
Dev Haskell has always been a back-slapping, wrong-guessing dysfunctional private investigator and he still is, only this time he shows he has a heart as well. In Last Shot a woman named Desi Quinn has nowhere else to turn and asks Dev for help. He knows for experience that all he'll be able to give her is a large bill and no tangible results. But, that's before events take a surprising turn. Dev suddenly finds himself in over his head dealing with an incompetent low life and a golden boy who has it all. A suspense thriller that will have you laughing one minute and crying the next, maybe because what happens to Desi Quinn is just a little too close to home for the rest of us. Here's part of an email I received reminding me that sometimes truth can be stranger than crime fiction; Mike, Strange as it may seem your story is frighteningly similar to what happened to my sisters friend out here. She was on the express train to easy street and it all came tumbling down...Thankfully, she's recovering, but I wish she'd had someone like Dev Haskell...
