Read Angels of Humility: A Novel Storyline:

Pastor Paul is a young seminary graduate called as interim pastor to a small rural church. He is full of zeal, but mostly for self-promotion. He sincerely loves the Lord but his past emotional wounds leave him vulnerable and in need of attention and affirmation. He constantly frustrates his angel, Saldu, who tries to steer him toward a more humble attitude.Sarah Edwards is a new church member, a recent widow who gets saved at age 71. Unknown to her, Sarah has two angels to help disciple her and she is maturing rapidly in the faith. She is confused by her prophetic gifting, which leads her to offend some church members. She also prayer walks in front of Pastor Paul’s house. When his wife sees her pacing back and forth “talking to no one,” Paul quickly writes her off as a “wacko.”Through the lives of Paul and Sarah you will see that the really wonderful news is that living a life pleasing to God has nothing to do with gritting your teeth and trying harder (again and again and again). God rewards you for simple, loving, serving actions throughout your days, stepping outside your own concerns to truly see others in His name.ReviewThe Holy Spirit is on this book. When my husband told me he thought there was a timing for the book and I might miss it fear motivated me to action. It's been so long ago I don't remember much except that when I started writing all I had was the title, the beginning and the ending. How does your faith influence your writing? I hope that what's in my heart is in my art. I aspire to write stories that advance the kingdom of God. I don't want the Christian message to be a sub-plot in the story. I want it to be the story. What do you most hope that readers get from reading your work?I hope my writing goes far beyond just being entertaining. I pray each day for the people who have read, are reading or will read my work that their lives would be permanently changed. I want the reader to love Jesus more and have a deeper commitment to Him as a result of reading my story. How long have you known you wanted to be an author?I've always loved humor and wanted to write it starting about 20 years ago. I didn't do anything until I was a broke, divorced single mom. I had an unreliable car that I kept putting money into because I couldn't afford anything else. It finally died and I decided I'd make something good out of this tragedy. I wrote an article called My Car is Driving Me Crazy. That was my shaky beginning. Starting out, who were the authors who inspired you? Who inspires you now? I've spent my life reading mostly non-fiction. I enjoyed Frank Peretti's books, Piercing the Darkness, This Present Darkness and Prophet. You can see his obvious influence in AOH. That's all the fiction I read until after Angels of Humility was published. Since then I've been reading the books nominated for Christian Fiction book of the year and I'm addicted.
