RetailPrivate Investigator Rudy Murdock leaves Pittsburgh behind and moves to Iowa, where his sister and her family now live. But his move will also put him in the same area as the woman who broke his heart 15 years ago. Rudy sets up his home and office in the former post office in Oak Grove, a small town near Iowa City, and opens for business. Soon, a young widow hires Rudy to investigate her estranged husband’s death at a nearby dam. He takes the case and is soon neck-deep in clues, secrets and hidden pasts. Along the way, Rudy unexpectedly runs into his former girlfriend and is totally unprepared for his feelings.
