Usually by about half way through a book like this you know who the killer is. I really didn't connect the dots on this one...The author did not pull any punches in the way the victims died and I know nothing about catholic martyrs so I found the killer's choices pretty grim and gruesome... But what I liked best was that the killer was completely unrepentant, there was no oh gee moment at the end where the killer realizes he was doing something wrong and is sorry.If it is a horror book, horrify me.
