Fifty years later Vice Admiral Lord Horatio Nelson, a keen student of Wolfe, made the famous signal at Trafalgar, ‘England expects every man will do his duty.’ It was flown from his flagship, HMS Victory. Work had begun on this vast warship in July 1759 in the Old Single Dock at Chatham dockyard on the Medway in Kent.
