“Please, Lucien. I need you inside me.” He loved it when his mate begged for his cock. He would never deny her. He withdrew their fingers, turned her around gently and positioned them so her back was against the wall. She placed her hands around his neck when he lifted her. She used one hand to guide him inside of her. He pushed into her slowly, gently and she wrapped her legs around his waist. She held on as he began thrusting inside of her. Using his shoulders for leverage, she rolled her hips, pushing off the tile wall to meet each of his thrusts. Lucien kissed her mouth, placing light kisses on her cheek and neck. His mouth found a secret spot on her neck, sucked on it and her body exploded with pleasure. Unable to resist his mate’s tight channel clenching tightly around him, Lucien’s body tensed and jerked as he found his release. He kissed her again, withdrew then lowered her gently. She reached for the loofah and began washing her mate.
After showering they lay in bed together, her head resting on his chest. He absently ran his hand down her back.
“Lucien?”
“Hmmm?”
“We got pregnant very quickly. Some couples have been together for years and they are still childless. Do you think it’s because we are mates or because I’m human?”
“What makes you say that?”
“Simple biology, Lucien. When species become isolated, after a while, their population can decline due to higher incidences of birth defects. Basically you have a stale gene pool. When new species are introduced and mating occurs, populations sometimes increase because of fresh new genes being introduced to the stale gene pool.” Lucien chuckled. Leave it to my mate to figure out our problem. Good thing she’s a science teacher, he thought as he kissed her gently.
“I think you’re onto something, my Love. Perhaps it is both. I will strongly encourage my pack members to seek out their true mates. Human or wolf, it doesn’t matter as long as they are mates.”
Lanie sighed contentedly and hugged her mate a little closer. She couldn’t believe how much her life had changed in the past year. She was aunt to three lovely girls who happened to be wolves, mate to a handsome, sexy Alpha and was pregnant with his child. She was excited about her future with her mate and baby.
Then the phone rang and all hell broke loose….

I’m sure you are wondering why everything is so nice and peaceful with Lanie and Lucien then with one phone call out of the blue, all hell breaks loose. Because he’s an Alpha and this is what happens sometimes. Other wolves’ problems will intrude on his peaceful life with Lanie. Lucien’s used to it and Lanie’s going to learn very soon that she’s not just Lucien’s mate, she’s an Alpha Bitch with responsibilities of her own. Chapter 1
She stared at him in shock. Anyone but him. Please, let this be a dream! She shook her head in disbelief. At five foot nine, he was shorter and leaner than all of the male wolves in her pack. He wore a black leather jacket over a tee shirt tucked into well worn blue jeans. The red tee shirt emphasized his muscular chest and flat stomach. His short blond hair was in disarray, as if he had worriedly run his hands through it several times.
For the last six months, he had worried daily about what the Last Hope pack would do to him once they found him. How would they punish him? In his old pack, death would have been instantaneous. Never would he have been given a chance to defend himself. This Alpha seemed interested in the truth. Lucien and his soldiers had questioned him thoroughly, without inflicting any pain. Then they had brought in the woman and suddenly he knew real fear.
His brown eyes stared back at her, seeming to be in shock as well. He looked at the pretty woman with shoulder length brown hair and mesmerizing blue eyes. Only a few inches shorter than he was, he looked directly into her eyes. He didn’t miss the horror and disgust reflected in her eyes, the way her full lips pressed together in anger.
“He already confessed to killing your brother. Claims it was self defense, that Sean attacked him first,” Lucien said quietly.
Lucien, her Alpha, leader of the Last Hope werewolf pack studied her reaction. Then he looked at the wolf who was handcuffed and standing between two of his soldiers, Nicolai and Kane. He noted the way the wolf had suddenly tensed after seeing Jackie.
“Jackie? Do you know this wolf?” Jackie shook her head in denial. The man handcuffed before her was a member of the Lost Souls pack. They were the enemy. She had never seen him before in her life.
“Zane? Do you recognize her?” After a moment, Zane nodded.
“She’s my mate.” There. He said it. And she would never forgive him.
