“Jake!” Daryl hissed as he nudged Jake again.

Jake let out a large snore and shifted in his seat.

“Don’t worry about him. Princess obviously needs his sleep,” Max said with a laugh.

“So, the job?” Daryl said, getting back on topic.

“I need you to intercept a truck carrying my, let’s say, competitor’s supplies,” Max chortled.

  “Then what?” Daryl asked.

“Burn it,” Max said sharply. “I don't want you with the goods either.”

“Okay, intercept a truck filled with what I’m assuming is valuable cargo but has no security, then destroy it?” Daryl said, making sure to include every detail he had been given. “Sounds like there is a little more to this than you are letting on.”

Max smiled, giving away nothing, and Daryl looked to Jake. He was still out of it, not helping in anyway.

“That’s pretty much exactly what Jake said the job would be,” Daryl grumbled looking back to Max. “To say I got reservations about this job would be an understatement. How do I find this truck, exactly?”

“Details, details, my friend,” Max said as he leaned back in his chair.

“When is this going down?” Daryl asked, shortness entering his voice.

“Tonight,” Max said leaning forward, his eyes lighting up.

“Seriously?” Daryl asked as he looked at Jake. “You think this guy is up to the task?”

“Him? No fucking way!” Max said with a smile. “Last time Jake did a job for me, a bunch of diamonds went missing and a lot of feelings got hurt.”

Daryl caught the slightest move of Jake’s foot in the corner of his eye, but he kept focus on the conversation.

“This is not a one man job,” Daryl said.

“That’s your problem,” Max snapped. “I heard you needed a job, and here you are.”

“So, what's the bottom line?” Daryl asked stiffly.

“Thirty grand up front with another fifty on completion,” Max said waving Donald over.

Donald appeared silently behind Daryl and handed him a bulky envelope.

“Looks like you got a little something on your cheek there, Donald,” Max said giving him a wink.

Daryl didn’t look up at Donald. He just looked in the envelope and saw the cash. It wasn’t long before he looked up at Max with a large grin.

“So, I take it that shit-eating grin means, yes?” Max asked as he checked his fingernails.

Jake stirred from his slumber and pushed his sunglasses down to the end of his nose.

“We done?” Jake said as he sat up in his chair.

Max and Daryl looked to Jake.

“Jake, you are a piece of shit,” Max said with a laugh.

“I love you too, Maxy!” Jake said as he got up from his seat.

“So that’s it?” Daryl asked, half out of his chair looking at Jake leaving.

“Donald, will you fill in this Nervous Nelly with the finer details, please?” Max said with a little wave of his hand.

“This way, gentlemen,” Donald said, ushering them out of the room.

Jake and Daryl left the room, and Donald waited till they were out of earshot.

“You sure you can trust this guy?” Donald asked. “He seems capable.”

“Yeah, that is a bit of a concern, but on the other hand he’s friends with Jake, so he can’t be that smart. He’ll fuck it up, don’t worry!” Max boomed. “Either way my old friend, there are going to be questions, and there is only one person they will look to answer them, and that’s not me.”

  CHAPTER 10: VALLEY GIRL

I’m just not pretty enough anymore, Lynne thought. I never was. I deserve all of this. I deserve all these fucking dicks in front of me, all these broke, disgusting men. It’s just the best I’ll ever do. I’m just not pretty enough anymore. I never was.

“That’s it, Lynne!” Rick called to her. “Take a fucking look, girls! This is a fucking pro. All you bitches could learn something from her. Jesus, we fucking missed you so much! Now, Lynne, see if you can tongue his balls while you deep throat his cock.”

You missed me? What a fucking joke, she thought. More like you missed the easy money and the free advertising you fucking asshole. It wasn’t enough that I came all the way back to L.A. to film a couple scenes, you had to trick me into this fucking bukkake scene too, just to show me how far down the food chain I’ve fallen. The train of thoughts were coming faster than the naked guys jerking off in front of her. I knew I should have done that reality show.

Lynne was amazed at how shitty Skin Visions had become was since she had last worked for them. Rick had always been cheap and made sure the bottom line was super low, but this was a joke. The male performers in front of her looked like they had been picked up from a hobo encampment. She used to actually look forward to fucking the guys in scenes. They used to be hot and good at their jobs but now the guys that were gathered around her were old and gross and could barely get their disgusting little dicks hard. The lure of easy money and free accommodations was just too hard to walk past, but this wasn’t anything close to easy. This was the exact reason she had left L.A. in the first place. It was supposed to be two hours work and two scenes, but now it was three hours and three scenes. Back in her prime, doing a scene with more than two men wasn’t even on her radar, but now she was working with five guys, all of them taking a turn in every orifice she presented. She was being paid a little over seven thousand dollars, which wasn’t bad for a few hours work, but at the same time for what she was doing it was barely worth it. The job wasn’t the real reason she had come back though. It just helped her make the decision.

Getting into the porn industry is not as easy as everyone thinks, but it was for Lynne. She was born into it, conceived on a Van Nuys porn set in 1983—a gang bang gone bad. There were five guys who potentially could have been the father, but none of them were willing to step up, and none of them were worth chasing for a paternity test. Her mother was Angela Roxxx. She was one of the premiere porn stars in the glory days of the adult film industry, a time when VHS tapes and magazines were the only places you could see pornography, other than shady movie theatres and adult bookstores. Angela had named her daughter after her mother, and at the time she didn’t want Lynne to follow in her footsteps, but naming your child Lynne Ava Van Wylde didn’t seem to support that. Lynne didn’t even need to think of an exotic name or use a combination of her first pet’s name plus the first street she lived on to find the hidden porn star moniker. Lynne Van Wylde was pretty much perfect.

† Cinnamon King Arthur, if you were wondering what mine is. †

Angela Roxxx, star of over eighty adult films and mother to a beautiful and carefree child, died before Lynne was seven. She was a victim of cancer of the cervix. Lynne’s stepdad slash not her real dad had done his best to look after a child he really didn’t have to and had tried to guide her away from repeating the cycle her mom had gone down, but the dim lights and dirty money had her in a tractor beam from day one. It didn’t help that she had inherited her mom’s massive tits and piercing blue eyes, plus a mane of long and thick blonde hair from whoever her dad was. Every sleazy porn producer had been watching the calendar, waiting for her to turn eighteen, but the one guy who was sleazier than all of them got his hands on her just after her seventeenth birthday. Rick was an old family friend and porn star. The rumor mill in the industry suspected he was actually her real dad but it was never confirmed or denied. She started out with a fresh teen face in Cheerleader Seductions 6, then turned to a sexy twenty-something in Coed Cock Cop 3, then a youthful thirtyish cougar in Office Fuck Fest 5, then finally a mature and motherly goddess in Confessions of a Mother, Fuck Her. There were plenty of other films in between those, but they were her most notable, and all of them were produced and directed by one man, Rick Richardson.

Rick owned Skin Visions Studios, and it wasn’t the most prestigious of establishments, inside or out. Buildings nestled under the shadow of a deca
ying bridge in downtown L.A. rarely are. In the company’s hay day, when it was located in the valley, it was a pinnacle, a bright light, but then the condom laws came in, and they had to move their operations somewhere nondescript, somewhere no one cared about. Downtown Los Angeles was a perfect fit. It had been an old warehouse before a fresh coat of paint and an official looking sign transformed it from a mid-level packaging company to the base of operations of a low-end internet porn company. Just like any industry, there are various levels of quality in porn. It’s not too dissimilar to the car industry, there are lots selling luxury cars, new cars, used cars and rusting pieces of shit on blocks being sold on Craigslist. Skin Visions sat somewhere between used cars and rusting pieces of shit on blocks being sold on Craigslist. That being said, porn is subjective; one man’s disgust in seeing a starving crack whore with missing teeth blow a three-hundred-pound fat guy is another man’s instant browser bookmark. At the end of the day, you’re watching it to get yourself off, so find your passion and enjoy it.

“Just come for a weekend!” Rick had said. “Do a scene. No pressure, no contracts! It will be great!”

And just like that, just when she thought she was out, they had pulled her back in.

I’m just not pretty enough anymore, she thought. I never was. I deserve all of this. I deserve all these fucking dicks in front of me, all these broke, disgusting men. It’s the best I’ll ever do. I’m just not pretty enough anymore. I never was.

Lynne was gagging but that wasn’t the reason tears were pooling at the corner of her eyes. She just couldn’t wait to be done with this. She was angry at herself for thinking this was what she was missing and that this was by any means healthy. She grew up in L.A. She didn’t need a reason to come back and visit. All she had to do was call him and say she was back in town and that it would be great to see him, but, in her mind, there was way too much opportunity to be let down. She wanted to call “cut” and walk out but that would probably mean no money, no accommodation and most likely the end of her career.

That reality show sure is looking good right now, Lynne thought as she went through the motions. The dark thoughts were coming faster than a tsunami of jizz.

“For fucks sake, guys! Stop being pussies!” Rick yelled. “This is Lynne Van fucking Wylde. Every fucking guy from here to Rhode Island would have cum five times by now! You’re all making me fucking embarrassed to be a man!”

They were all amateurs. Pros would have all taken their turn with her and cum within a short time frame, bathing her in a shower of jizz, but these guys could barely get it up, let alone cum. There was something to gain from this non-triumphant return, and that was to hopefully be scarred so much she would never return to Los Angeles. Luckily for Lynne, anything was better than this.

CHAPTER 11: OH MOTHER, WHERE ART THOU

“Ewww!” the voice from above said. “Next!”

The strokes were slow and precise as the brush glided through the silk-like hair.

“Your hair is so pretty, Jenny,” Ava said as she admired her work. “It’s just like mommy’s hair.”

“What was that, Ava?” the voice from above said.

Ava scrunched up her nose. She hated stinky Janice. She smelled like the air freshener in the bathroom, and her legs were spikey, not smooth and soft like her mommy’s. She was sick of having to hide under the desk next to Janice’s gross legs. Ava was five years old and she was a good girl but as her mom always told her she had to “cut the sass”.

She returned to brushing the hair of Jenny, her doll. Jenny was a foot tall, wearing a frilly dress that fit snug to her shapely body. Her hair was long and thick, perfect for brushing or cutting off, depending on how inclined the user was, but in this case, the doll was well looked after. Ava was dressed in stark contrast to her doll. She wore denim overalls with a white cotton T-shirt. Her dirty blonde hair was curly and reached her shoulders, with the fringe pulled back by a butterfly clip. She was anything but a Tomboy, but today her mother had deemed comfort and ease was preferred to her usual choice of princess-style outfits.

“How are you doing down there, Ava?” Janice crooned. “You having fun?”

Ava huffed. She was grumpy and annoyed that she had to be here instead of doing what she wanted. Her mom had told her to be good, but she wasn’t here to make sure she was. Stinky Janice made her angry. She was the reason she couldn’t be with her mom.

“N.O.Y.B!” Ava snapped as she went back to brushing.

The long legs next to her moved, the chair rolled back from the desk, and Janice’s head came into Ava’s view.

“What does that mean?” Janice grinned. “N.O.Y.B. sounds fancy!”

Ava kept brushing the hair of her doll, ignoring the question.

“Awwww, you’re not going to tell your aunt Janice?” Janice whined. “I’m your girl! You don’t keep secrets from your girl!”

Ava dramatically sighed and stopped brushing the doll’s hair. “It means, None, Of, Your, Business,” Ava said, annunciating each word slowly.

Janice squinted her eyes and flared her nostrils and Ava knew she had been bad. She knew she was about to be yelled at, but just as Janice was opening her mouth, the phone started ringing.

“Rude,” Janice muttered, then she sat up in her chair and answered the phone. “Good afternoon, how can I help you?”

Stinky Janice, Ava thought. I was having so much fun swimming in the pool with Becca, and now I’m here at mommy’s dumb work. I just want to go swim and then have ice cream, like mommy promised. This is so dumb!

“I’m sorry, he is currently doing a shoot,” Janice said into the phone. “If you want to leave a message, I’ll make sure he gets right back to you.”

“Maybe chocolate or strawberry but not vanilla, never vanilla, yuck!” Ava whispered to Jenny, keeping the ice cream thought train running. “I wonder if we can get toppings? Like all the toppings, Jenny! So many toppings that you can have some too!”

Ava had had enough of this boring world she had been forced into. It was definitely time to go swimming, definitely time to go eat ice cream and definitely time to get as far away as possible from stinky Janice. She peeked out from under the desk and giggled. The reception area was small and filled with giant framed pictures of her mom in her underwear.

“Put some pants on, mommy,” Ava chuckled. “Silly mommy.”

The light was red and bright above the door, Ava knew her mom was behind it. She just had to get to it, and then they could go swimming and have ice cream, chocolate never vanilla. She moved to go to the door, but Janice’s face blocked her path.

“Ava!” Janice scolded, her eyes darting left to right. “We’re playing hide and seek! You don’t want to give away your hiding spot, do you?”

“Where’s my Mommy?” Ava demanded. “I want to go swimming!”

“She won’t be a long, honey,” Janice said as she looked at her newly manicured nails from the front and the back. “Mommy is working.”

  “I’m bored!” Ava insisted.

“I know,” Janice said, with an obvious eye roll. “Why don’t you play with your doll some more?”

“Her name is Jenny!” Ava snapped. “And she is not a doll. She is a little girl, just like me!”

“Oh, I’m sorry!” Janice said with a smile. “That was very stupid of me.”

Ava looked to Janice’s claw-like hand. It was holding a game machine, and it had her favorite game on the screen. Her eyes went extra big. She really wanted to play it.

“I play that?” Ava said pointing to the phone in Janice’s hand. “The Man Game is my favorite!”

Ava dropped Jenny to the floor and reached for the phone before Janice could answer and began prying it out of her hand.

“I don’t think that’s a game for you, baby,” Janice said, resisting. “I’m not sure your mom would be happy if I let you play it.”

“We play it all the time!” Ava gushed as she pulled hard on the phone.

  “Okay,” Janice relent
ed. “But you have to be nice to aunt Janice.”

“I swear!” Ava said as she took control of the phone and brought it up to her face.

The phone on the desk started ringing again, and Janice went to answer it, but Ava didn’t notice. She was already enchanted by the Man Game.

“It’s simple, Jenny! You look at all their photos,” Ava whispered to her doll. “Then, you use the heart when you like them and the cross if you don’t! Heart means love and cross means angry.”

Ava and her mom played the Man Game all the time when they were back home. She had even met a couple of the men in the game and that was the best thing ever. There were things she didn’t like and things she did like in the photos, so she made sure to pick only the men who had everything she liked. Ava was very picky. The things she liked were smiles, swimming pools, beards and other kids. If a man had all of them in his pictures, she gave him a blue star. That meant she super liked him. The things she didn’t like were dead fish, cars, sunglasses, no shirts and no smiles. She wasn’t allowed to talk to the men on the game, though. That was a big no, no. When she got a match she had to bring it straight to her mommy so she could tell her if she liked him too.

“All these men are gross, Jenny,” Ava said, pressing the cross button in rapid succession. “I wish we were back home. Men are so much nicer there.”

Ava pressed the cross button a few more times before she was stopped in her tracks. There was a man. A man with a beard, and he was holding another little girl just like her in his arms. He looked friendly and nice, and she smiled eagerly as she checked out his other photos. The little girl was prominent in all of them, and in the last photo they were swimming in a pool, together!

“I think we found one, Jenny,” Ava whispered and pressed the coveted blue star at the bottom of the screen.

The screen lit up. They had a match, and Ava didn’t delay. She crawled out the front of the desk and ran towards the door with the bright red light.
