The four—himself, Jessica, Lizbeth, and Austin had been in the bakery. The retirees had been looking on, their interest keen. Austin had been standing behind Jessica, nodding his head and rolling his hand as if he were encouraging Lizbeth to continue. It was obvious his brother and his brother’s girlfriend were working hard to make sure Jessica wouldn’t make her own wedding cake.
And they’d been successful. The cake was smaller than the one Holt and Aurora had at their wedding just a month ago, but it was just as beautiful. It was two-tier, a traditional white cake with cream frosting decorated with fresh raspberries. Instead of a bride and groom on top, Lizbeth and Austin had fashioned a silver star and spatula surrounding a pair of cowboy boots. Something told Hawk this was a first in wedding cake history.
Unlike his brother, who was waiting to take a wedding trip until after the first of the year, he and Jessica were scheduled to fly out of Amarillo tomorrow morning. After a few stops they would land in Seattle where they would board a ship for a two-week Alaskan cruise.
They’d planned their wedding fast, but the trip to Alaska was something they’d both had on their bucket lists. They’d used Hawk’s savings to pay for it, and vowed to build it back up with his salary, and profits from the bakery.
It was hard to believe the beautiful woman standing next to him was his wife. It was like a fairy tale come true. He’d dreamed about finding the perfect fit for him, and now she wore his ring, and his collar when they were at home.
“Earth to Hawk,” Jessica whispered. “I can’t feed you cake if you’re staring out into space.”
“Sorry, babe.” He opened his mouth and took the piece of cake she gingerly offered him. They’d made a pact that they wouldn’t shove cake in each other’s faces. Feeding the cake was meant to show how they would care for each other. He picked up a piece of cake and did the same for her. Jessica flicked her tongue across his finger and his cock stirred.
He narrowed his eyes at her in mock warning, and she giggled. He leaned over and kissed her cheek. “Now’s not the time,” he whispered against her skin.
“It’s always the time,” she answered.
They had rented the community center for the reception, after holding the small wedding at the ranch. The DJ they’d hired announced it was time for the first dance. Hawk led Jessica to the dance floor and took her in his arms as a waltz started to play.
“Ladies and gentlemen, may I present Mr. and Mrs. Hawkins Coleman,” the DJ said, and their friends and family applauded. He held her close and said, “I love you.”
“What a surprise,” Jessica said. “Because I love you, too.”
He kissed her gently as people started to join them on the dance floor, his parents, Holt and Aurora, even Reed and Leslie. He smiled when Austin led Lizbeth onto the dance floor. But two of his brothers, Wyatt, and Kyle, stayed by the sidelines.
“We need to find girlfriends for Wyatt and Kyle,” he said.
“Can’t we go on our honeymoon first?” Jessica asked.
“As long as you can offer me lots of good sex,” Hawk said.
“Oh darling, I know I can do that. Lots and lots of good sex.”
