Bluestone Academy (A Bully Paranormal Academy Romance)
Page 8
Next to our names the word ‘CLEANING’ shines a bit too brightly, as if just written in fresh ink, and we both have to go down to the basement senior bathroom. I sigh and my shoulders instantly slump. That bathroom is huge, meant for after long days on the slopes. The bath is a giant, communal, constantly-bubbling pool that warms the bones and there are about a dozen bathroom stalls to clean.
Just as I roll my eyes, I hear the click of expensive shoes on the wood floorboards. I turn around to see Dray coming out of a shadowy corridor that leads to the library. He’s got some books tucked under his arm, and his weary-looking eyes are icier than the slopes outside.
All I can hear are his slow, measured steps and my own heart picking up pace. “Where’s Welham?”
Dray’s jaw tightens. His stormy-blue eyes darken as he approaches me. I suddenly feel small in front of his tall, muscular frame.
“If he’s not here, we’re on our own,” he drawls coldly, and his words slice me apart like a Christmas ham. “It’s just us, Liv.”
Fuck.
Definitely not off to a good start.
