Chapter Four
“Up and at ‘em, convict,” Cooper called through the bars of Bradley’s cell.
Bradley groaned, stiff and sore from curling up on the hard bed. He stretched out just as the door opened and Kevin and Cooper walked in.
“You know, you’re not such a smart mouth anymore.” Cooper crossed his arms and waited for Bradley to get up. “I kind of miss it.”
“Yeah,” Kevin said, crossing his arms to mimic Cooper. “We kind of miss it.”
Bradley had a rhetorical response on the tip of his tongue, but after everything he had been through, he thought the smartest move was to remain silent.
“It’s straight to the day room today for you,” Cooper said as he and Kevin each took one of Bradley’s arms and escorted him out.
“Am I getting food today?”
“Always the joker,” Cooper said as they walked down the corridor. “You haven’t missed a single meal since being here, convict. You can drop the crazy act, we don’t believe it.”
“I haven’t eaten anything since getting here,” Bradley gasped out. “Not a thing.”
“Don’t lie,” Cooper said, “or you really won’t see a meal for a few days.”
Bradley shook his head and remained quiet.
They left him in the day room. The other patients had not arrived yet, but there were two nurses at the station already. Bradley wandered around the small space aimlessly, considering what to do to pass the time.
At least nothing strange had happened this morning.
Finally deciding on a puzzle, Bradley sat at the small square table in the corner and emptied the box onto it. He picked up all the pieces that didn’t have a straight edge and placed them back in the box. The best way to do a puzzle, in Bradley’s opinion, was to start with the border.
Doing this puzzle, however, was just a ruse.
He needed time to think and needed to be left alone to do it. He needed a way to either reach a phone to call his lawyer, or to escape from the Asylum for long enough to get to his office. The problem Bradley faced was that he had been so wrapped up in riling up that cop on the way over here, he hadn’t paid attention to how far out this place was. Looking out the window, it seemed it was in the middle of nowhere. He couldn’t see other buildings from here. He would have to check others if he got the chance.
Once his lawyer heard about the way he was treated, everyone here would be in the biggest shit of their lives, and he would be either excused from his sentence or sent somewhere much nicer where they treated him like gold.
He had to get past Cooper and Kevin. Kevin would be easy; the brainless idiot didn’t have a clue how to do anything without Cooper. Cooper was going to be the tough one. They never let him walk anywhere without an escort and only left him alone when he was in session with the doctor, or in his cell.
He could knock the doctor out and make a run for it. Perhaps the doctor’s office in the basement held a phone he could use, but that would be risky. If there was no phone, he wasn’t sure he would still have time to escape after that.
Slowly the border of the puzzle came together, and Bradley was concentrating so hard between the puzzle and his plan to escape, he didn’t realise that no other patients were arriving. He only looked up to see the still empty day room once the border was done.
He had been there for at least an hour by then. The lack of patients made Bradley nervous, and he wondered what was going on.
The nurses didn’t seem concerned, they never did, and they happily continued with their paperwork. Bradley was about to go ask them where the others were when Dr Wellbottom entered, closely followed by Cooper and Kevin.
“Well, Mr Walker, you have landed yourself in extremely hot water,” he said, taking the seat opposite Bradley’s.
“You’re a fine one to talk,” Bradley retorted. “Starving patients, drugging them, forcing them to fuck corpses … and the list continues.”
“See, sir,” Cooper interjected, “he’s just full of lies.”
“They are not lies!” Bradley slammed his fist on the table, and some of the puzzle pieces fell to the floor. “You had a midget rape me in my cell!”
Dr Wellbottom examined Bradley, raising an eyebrow. “A midget? You don’t say! And that gives you the right to rape one of our nurses?” he asked, as though having a polite chat with a child that didn’t understand the difference between right and wrong.
“She had it coming. You all have it coming. You can’t starve me and torture me and get away with it.”
“I don’t understand, Mr Walker. You have thus far been fed three times a day, every day since you have been in our care.”
“Bullshit!” Bradley again slammed his hand on the table. “I drink out of a goddamn toilet just to have something to drink.”
Dr Wellbottom pulled a face. “Dr Brock was right about you; deep-set issues stemming from your childhood.”
“This has nothing to do with my childhood,” Bradley argued, but Dr Wellbottom simply continued talking as though he hadn’t been interrupted.
“Nonetheless, we cannot and will not tolerate abuse of our nursing staff. Solitary confinement for one week should teach you a lesson.”
He stood up and left while Bradley was still trying to protest. Bradley got up quickly and took large strides to catch up to him, but Cooper and Kevin caught him, Cooper jabbing a needle into his neck.
Drowsy and weak, he collapsed. He would have hit the floor if Cooper and Kevin didn’t hold him upright. They forced him to walk out of the day room and down a set of stairs. They turned him around, and he felt dizzy and disorientated. They led him down a long dark corridor and Bradley could swear he heard children laughing. Not children, a child. A girl laughing happily.
They descended another flight of stairs into a dark corridor with one light that flashed off and on. Bradley wanted to pull away, he wanted to scream and kick and perform, but his body just didn’t cooperate with him.
Cooper opened one of the heavy doors to their left and shoved Bradley into the space. He fell to his knees, barely strong enough to hold himself up. The heavy door closed and the lock slid into place.
Plunged into absolute darkness, Bradley collapsed to the cold hard floor and passed out.
——
His head pounded as he tried to raise it. He couldn’t see anything in his cell and carefully lifted a hand to feel around him. Nothing. It was just an empty cell.
There wasn’t even a bed for him to climb onto.
Aching from head to toe, he rolled onto his side and curled up. He stayed like that for some time, just listening to his own breathing. He saw a little flicker and raised his head a little higher. There it was again. A flicker of light in the darkness.
He sat up and managed to get to his hands and knees. He crawled towards the light and promptly hit his head on the metal door. Rubbing his head, he knelt and saw that the food flap for the door was open and he could vaguely see into the corridor whenever the light flicked on. Off, it plunged his world into darkness for a few seconds, and then there was light for a few before darkness again.
He turned and leaned his back against the metal door, breathing deeply. Still feeling extremely drugged, he hugged his knees to his chest and rested his forehead against them.
He dozed off, hunched up like that.
——
Startled, he sat up straight. Was that humming he could hear? Yes, someone was humming a soft, sweet tune. It sounded female and young. Bradley quickly looked through the food flap. He could make out two doors across from his and could hear the humming, but couldn’t tell if it was coming from behind one of the doors or within the corridor.
Someone then passed his door, and the humming stopped.
“Hello,” he whispered. The humming started again, and Bradley added, “Hello, can you help me?”
“Help you?” a sweet little voice said, and suddenly she walked into his line of sight. She kneeled so she could see him, an
d he immediately recognised Clara from the day room.
“Clara!” Bradley exclaimed. “Clara, you can help me.”
“Help you,” she giggled. “Why would I help you?”
“Because I can pay you,” Bradley lied, shifting his weight as he became uncomfortable. “I can pay you so much, Clara. You could buy so many toys with all the money I can give you.”
Clara tilted her head to one side and then to the other. She smiled wickedly. “I have all the toys I want.”
From behind her back, she withdrew a long knife. “Want to play with me?”
Bradley didn’t know what to say, shocked at how innocent and psychotic she looked at the same time. She turned away from him and went to the door on the left. She pulled the lock back and the door open, going inside. There was a loud scream, and a strange wet sound before Clara walked back into his view. As the light blinked off and on, he noticed the knife in Clara’s hand was covered in something dark, something wet, and so was she. It could only be blood.
Bradley swallowed hard as she went to the door on the right and did the same thing. She slid the lock back, entered, and this time, a man’s voice begged her for mercy before he screamed.
Bradley crawled away from the door, afraid he was next on Clara’s list. She hummed again, and it made him even more scared. The light that blinked through the food flap was suddenly blocked off completely, and Bradley knew that Clara stood on the other side of that door, ready to come in.
There was a soft clang as metal hit floor.
Clara giggled, and Bradley heard her soft footsteps retreat.
It wasn’t long before he heard another voice, and for once he was happy, Cooper was around.
“What the hell?” Cooper said loudly. “Oh, my God! Oh, my God! Kevin! Kevin!”
Cooper's voice retreated, and Bradley worried Clara would have time to come back and finish the job, but soon enough he heard Cooper and Kevin returning, discussing what was going on.
“They’re dead,” Kevin was saying.
“Murdered, Kevin, they were murdered.”
“They are still dead,” Kevin said grumpily.
“We better check on the convict,” Cooper said, and Bradley heard the lock sliding open before the door swung open.
Bradley squinted as more light was allowed to flood the room. The light was still flickering, but he could kind of see what was going on. Kevin and Cooper both stared at the floor where there a knife lay covered in something dark and wet.
Clara’s knife.
“How the hell … how did you get out?” Cooper demanded.
“I didn’t. It was a little girl called Clara,” Bradley explained, holding his hands up. “I couldn’t get out of the cell if I tried.”
“And yet you did! You killed two patients!” Cooper said, pointing his finger at Bradley.
“I didn’t!” Bradley shouted. “I didn’t do it! It was Clara!”
“Clara is upstairs in her room playing tea party with Dr Brock,” Kevin said. “She never leaves her room. She’s locked in there.”
“It was her, I swear it.”
“You killed two patients.” Cooper took a step forward, kicking the knife out the door. “Why’d you do it? Because they were homo? You hate homos, convict?”
“No! I have nothing against them.”
“Against who?”
“Against homosexuals,” Bradley said, pressing himself against the wall.
“So the two patients you did kill just happened to be homosexual?” Kevin said, coming forward.
Bradley watched as his hands dropped to his belt and started to undo it.
“No, I didn’t kill them. I wouldn’t kill them,” Bradley pleaded, kicking out the closer they came.
Cooper dodged the kick and timed one of his own, which landed square in Bradley’s ribs, causing him to lose his breath.
“Like you didn’t kill the cop?” he said, kicking Bradley a few more times.
Bradley lay on the floor, hugging himself as Cooper and Kevin spoke to him. He tried to catch his breath so he could defend himself, but every time he did, Cooper kicked him again, twice in the groin, sending shooting pains into his body and causing him to curl up to protect himself.
He felt hands on him, and a jab to the neck told him that Cooper had drugged him again. The tension of holding himself together left his body, and he simply relaxed.
Kevin rolled him until he was on his stomach, his head turned to the side so he could make out the silhouettes of Cooper and Kevin in his peripheral vision.
Kevin pulled his pants down and stroked himself as Cooper spoke to Bradley.
“You know what we do to people who hurt our patients, convict? We teach them a lesson.”
“Hmmm,” was all Bradley managed to get out. His mind was willing, but his body wouldn’t cooperate.
“Since you hate homosexuals so much, we’ll just have to make you into one,” Cooper said, undoing his own belt.
Bradley tried to clench up; he wanted to move away, to get up and run, but his body disobeyed him. He felt weight on the back of his legs and realised it was Kevin. Kevin’s body moved as he stroked himself.
“Nnnn … nnnn … no,” Bradley slurred out. “P-p-p-please.”
Kevin spit and Bradley could only assume it was onto his own dick. The tip of Kevin’s dick probed between his butt cheeks, seeking out its target. Bradley did his best to clench his anus closed, to no avail. Kevin pushed his dick into Bradley and Bradley felt like he was being torn in two. Kevin moved slowly but started to gain speed. He grunted as he moved, placing one hand on either side of Bradley’s head to support himself.
Bradley sobbed out and shifted slightly, willing his body to act, but Kevin moved and put his hands on Bradley’s back instead, pinning him down.
It seemed like an eternity before Kevin grunted and pushed deep inside Bradley, ejaculating. Kevin climbed off, and Bradley swallowed hard, closing his eyes.
He realised they weren’t done with him when he felt another weight on his legs and heard Cooper spit into his hand.
“My turn,” he growled, guiding his dick into Bradley.
In Bradley’s mind, he shrieked, screamed, bit, fought, flayed and bucked to get Cooper off, but his body still wouldn’t do anything to defend itself. Whatever Cooper had given him had paralysed him; he could do nothing but lie there as Cooper pumped his hips, groaning loudly the closer he got to his orgasm. Once he was done, he got up and smacked Bradley on the ass.
“Good boy,” he said, doing up his pants. “Now I want you to think about what you did, and we’ll speak to Dr Wellbottom about extending your stay here in solitary for your misbehaviour. You were a good sport, though, so maybe we’ll keep this between us, and you’ll see sunlight sooner rather than later.”
Their footsteps retreated from the room, and the sound of the metal door slamming shut and the lock sliding into place followed.
He could do nothing; blood and semen dripped from his ass as he sobbed quietly, waiting for the drugs to wear off so he could try and clean up.
——
Chapter Five
The lock sliding back startled Bradley awake, and he feared whoever was on the other side of that door. He didn’t know how long he had been down here - could have been days - but knew nothing would erase that first night spent in solitary. He didn’t know who frightened him more - Cooper, Kevin or Clara. Were the orderlies returning to mete out more punishment or was Clara coming back to finish him off?
He wouldn’t have minded if Clara ended his life after what he had been through.
After Cooper and Kevin had left and the drugs wore off, Bradley was able to move again. He felt his way into a corner and squatted, shitting out faeces, blood and semen. He crawled away and had to live with the smell the entire time, going back now and then to take another dump. What they had done to him had seriously messed up his bowels, and it was as if he couldn’t stop it. He didn’t know what he was voiding, though, because he had nothing in his
body to excrete.
Now the door was opening, and Bradley would have to face whatever horror was on the other side, whether the orderlies or Clara.
It was neither.
The light had stopped flickering and was simply on, and it flooded the room, blinding Bradley, but through it, he saw the slim figure of a beautiful woman in the doorway.
“Hello, Mr Walker,” she said, entering the cell.
As Bradley’s eyes adjusted, he noticed she was barefoot and, when his gaze lifted, he realised she was completely naked.
“Dr Brock sent me down to make you feel better,” she said. “My name is Molly.” She moved towards him.
Bradley crawled backwards and pressed himself against the wall; he didn’t trust anything sent by those hellish doctors. This was a trap, some sort of trick, and he wasn’t going to fall for it.
“What’s wrong, Bradley? Aren’t you hungry?” she asked, reaching between her legs and running her hand over her vagina lightly. “I heard you hadn’t eaten yet, and I was hoping to be your breakfast.”
“How long have I been in here?”
“A day,” Molly said. “Not long at all. Cooper and Kevin are convincing Dr Wellbottom to let you out early on account of your cooperation or something. In the meantime, Dr Brock has asked me to make sure you have a happy meal.”
Bradley couldn’t look at her. He felt anything but horny, especially since it had apparently only been a day since his rape, possibly less than that. The last thing he wanted to think about was a naked woman, but she was relentless. She climbed onto his lap despite his protests and straddled him. She ran her hands up and down his chest, cooing. Bradley turned his head away, and Molly leaned in and licked up his neck.
“Now, now, Mr Walker, don’t you want to punish me for being such a bad girl?” Molly shifted her hips and took Bradley’s hands, dragging them to her full breasts and placing them there. “Squeeze them, Mr Walker, feel them.”
Angry at everything he had suffered through, he gripped her tits tightly, twisting them in his hands. Molly groaned, and Bradley twisted them harder. He let go of her right breast and brought his hand up to meet her face, slapping her hard.
