“Nincs drágább az idönél,” he murmured.
There’s nothing more expensive than time.
Balthazar spurred his mount up the narrow, winding road that led into the pass.
Afterword
Dearest Reader,
The next book in the Gothic Gaslamp series, A Bad Breed, is due in early summer 2019. Without giving away too much, I can tell you it begins in the Carpathian mountains of Transylvania with a series of vicious attacks on a remote village that bear all the hallmarks of a pricolici (yes, that’s what werewolves are called in Romanian folklore). Of course, if you’ve read my other books, you already know there will be plenty of twists and surprises for our fearless investigators from the S.P.R….
In the meantime, if you're curious about how Vivienne Cumberland met Alec Lawrence, the history of the daēvas, and Balthazar's checkered past, you can take a journey back to ancient Persia in the Fourth Element Trilogy where these characters first appear. Book #1 is The Midnight Sea, I hope you'll check it out.
Sign up for my newsletter so you don’t miss the next book in the series! I also run sneaky price promotions that I only advertise on my mailing list. :)
Lastly, if you have a moment to leave a quick review, they're a huge boost for authors and help us to keep writing books at affordable prices.
Cheers, Kat
Acknowledgments
A huge thanks as always to my brilliant editors, Christa Yelich-Koth and Jessica Therrien, who caught so many problems, large and small. To Laura Pilli, for her constant encouragement and guidance on an early draft, and Pilar Erso, for her many virtual cups of tea and awesome Sherlock GIFs. Seriously, they kept me going during a truly brutal rewrite.
To the warm, wonderful and talented crew at Acorn Publishing.
And lastly to Mom, for everything.
