He got the flogger to warm her up a bit. It was important for the skin to get used to the feeling, so the person was slowly eased into the pain. He flogged her until her skin changed from white to a light red. She kept looking back at him, at times, smiling, her forehead sweaty already. She didn’t seem to feel any pain, though. She was quiet, absorbing it all.

But she suddenly screamed when Dylan changed to the whip. She wasn’t expecting it, and it felt like she had been burned. She danced in place, trying to ease the pain while getting wet at the same time. The mark rose to her skin, lighting the path where the whip landed. Dylan hit her again, and she yelled.

“Oh, wow, what the fuck are you using?” Natasha asked, still dancing, forcing the wristbands that were holding her in place.

“Cat-o'-nine-tails,” Dylan said, hitting her once more. Her back was getting seriously bruised as it could break at any minute, so Dylan ended the beating, putting the whip on the floor. Natasha looked at that, relieved.

“Wow, I’m glad that you stopped, otherwise I’d have to go Yellow on you or something,” Natasha said, referring to the safe-word.

“Do you want to use Yellow right now?”

“No, I’m fine, but-” Natasha said, but didn’t finish the sentence, because she howled again, feeling another screaming pain hitting her butt. Dylan had swapped tools, going with the cane now, which hurt in a very different wait.

Dylan used it three times more, each stroke followed by a scream and Natasha joining her legs together, shifting in place. When she got calm again, Dylan put his fingers inside her and smiled.

  “You’re soaking wet.”

“Untie me so you can do something about it,” Natasha said, biting her lips.

But Dylan hit her once more, chuckling. He got near her ear and she closed her eyes, feeling the goosebumps on her skin, mixed with the pain from the spanking. He put her ear between two fingers, massaging it, and she moaned. Then, he whispered:

“Let’s see about that. I’m not finished here with you.”

They kept playing until Dylan thought Natasha could handle no more. Her back and her butt were all marked with purple bruises and red lines. It was enough, he thought. However, when he untied her, she asked:

“Is that it? I was pretty sure you would keep going until I said Red.”

“Would you want me to?” Dylan asked with a smirk. Natasha smiled.

“Nah. Now I want a drink. Care to join me?”

“Sounds like a good plan!” he exclaimed, feeling super thirsty himself.

“Hey, I just wanted to tell you that I really like playing with you,” Natasha said. Dylan stopped walking and looked at her.

  “Really?”

“Yeah, silly!” she exclaimed. “I really like you. You’re smart, funny, and smoking hot.”

“Wow… that means a lot, Natasha,” he said. “I really like you too.”

“I know! Now, let’s go!” she said, grabbing his hand and taking him to the bar.

They went to the bar and Dylan still wanted to make Natasha cum, but he noticed that the girl had other plans already. She was looking around, to see if she could find any other play partners. Dylan immediately felt bad because of that. He didn’t want to play with anyone else. Natasha only made him even more conflicted and confused. He even saw a friend of his, Joseph, that was doing a scene with some slaves, but he didn’t feel like going there. Natasha gulped down the drink and got up.

“Wow, that whip really hurt. My back is killing me now. Well, which is making me even hornier. See you later, alligator?” she said and kissed Dylan’s cheek.

“Have fun!” he said, trying to sound like he supported her. Last term, they had had a huge fight about him trying to control her, and he didn’t want that to happen again. So, he ordered another shot, chugging it, and headed to the door, while she was already approaching a random woman. Dylan watched her choose a paddle and leave.

Why? Why do I have to like her?

Lucy had her own problems over at apartment 39. She wasn’t feeling her best again, but Oliver wasn’t there. He was working, as always, and she was very sick. It had been over a week, and she was starting to think about going to the doctors. Her throat was burning, she felt goosebumps, and all she needed was chicken broth and a hug. But Oliver wasn’t there to hug her. She looked around the room, seeing how empty and lonely it was. She knew he had to work, even though the weekly hours were brutal. But wasn’t it unfair that he had almost no time for her? She thought so.

She sat on the bed, sighing. Oliver would come home, they would kiss, eat a quick dinner, and sleep. They didn’t have time for anything else during the week. And, on the weekends, they had many other things to do. House chores, homework, and more. She was getting tired of that life.

Laying down, feeling miserable, she started coughing so hard she thought she would vomit, but then it stopped, and she could breathe again, feeling the pain in her chest. She didn’t want to do her homework nor dinner. She turned on the TV. That was what she would do for the rest of the night.

Oliver got home some hours later, wrecked.

“Hi, princess,” he said, closing the door.

“Hello,” she answered, coldly. She was below blankets, a teddy bear by her side, and she didn’t even smile. He frowned. He was sweaty and wearing his camo uniform.

“What’s wrong, babe? And what are you doing watching TV? Did you finish your homework?”

“No. I’m terribly sick. I won’t do anything!” she protested, pouting and folding her arms.

“Still not feeling better, baby?” Oliver asked, with a soft voice, getting to the bed. Lucy was frowning. Oliver smiled. “Tell me what’s wrong, sweetie.”

Lucy felt tears in her eyes and hugged Oliver, who sat by her side. Oliver hugged her back and kissed the top of her head.

“It’s okay, it’s all right. Did you get your antibiotics?”

“No. I’m sick of it. I’ve used almost the whole box. I’m starting to think something else is wrong.”

  “Like what, honey?”

“Like the fact that I’m always here by myself, lonely, and stressed… and you’re always working.”

“I need to work, baby,” Oliver said, smiling, stroking her cheek.

“I’m just so confused about what I want to do,” Lucy murmured. “We have so little time to be together. I don’t even know if I want to finish college.”

“Well…” Oliver said. “College is only mandatory to find a life partner, and we can check this out of our to-do list. I already have a career in the military.”

“I have absolutely no idea what career I want. All I can do is stay sick in bed,” Lucy felt the tears stroll down her face. “It’s very hard… this thing of being an adult. I’m useless…”

“I know, honey. And you’re not useless, you’re my happiness, my reason to work so hard,” Oliver said and kissed her cheek. “It’s very hard to grow up but I’m here to help you, okay, babe?” Oliver hugged her. She felt better. Warm and protected. “I love you. We’re in this together. Everything will be fine. It’s difficult to grow up, but we’ll manage.”

  “I love you too.”

“Now, lay down and I’ll give your antibiotic. It’s very strong, you’ll be better in no time.”

“Nooooo, Daddy, I don’t want to take it!” Lucy cried out, pouting again.

“Stop being naughty. It’s for your health and there’s no way you won’t take it, you little rascal,” Oliver said, smiling, while he went to their drawer and got the med from there.

He took it from the box and Lucy saw the needle. It was an injection shot since it was more effective than pills.

  “I’ll run away!” Lucy whimpered.

“And I’ll catch you!” Oliver exclaimed, getting to the bed. “Now, lay down, butt up!”

“No, Daddy, please!” Lucy cried again. Oliver shook his head and put his hand on Lucy’s back, conducing her down, so she would lay. She tried to fight
but it was no good, Oliver was much bigger and stronger than her.

He took her white pajama pants down and was about to do the same with her panties when she put her hands there, pleading:

  “No, no, no, no, please!”

Oliver rolled his eyes. He was prepared for that. He took with him a handcuff when he got the medicine. So, he grabbed her small hands and cuffed it. She looked back, perplexed, while he smirked.

“You think I don’t know you, little girl?”

“You mean!” she exclaimed while trying to get free from the cuffs. It was no good at all.

He pulled her pink panties down and inserted the needle on her butt. The girl yelled, even though it didn’t hurt much at all. He finished applying the antibiotics, took off the needle and kissed the place, pulling her clothes up again.

“Did it hurt?” Oliver asked, removing the handcuffs.

“Yes! It hurt as much as something can hurt! It hurt an unbelievable amount of hurt!” she said, making no sense, while sitting down, pouting, her arms folded. “Ouch, ouch, ouch, it’s still hurting when I sit!”

“I’ll give you a reason to really whine like that when you get better,” Oliver said and kissed her head. She frowned. “For now, I’ll make you soup, okay, sweetheart? Put some cozy movies on and soon Daddy will be back to take care of my little baby.”

“Humpf,” she made, and added, in a bratty way, “okay. But it better be good!”

“You naughty little thing,” Oliver said, smiling, and heading to the door.

  Chapter 9. Truth

When Dylan woke up, he realized he’d have to go to his dad’s house, again, pretending to be with Natasha, even though they weren’t together, even though it was his dream to be with her, even though going to his dad was the last thing we wanted in the whole world.

He wasn’t feeling his best when they were in the back of the taxi to go to the mansion. Natasha was smiling, looking perfectly normal. He couldn’t stop thinking about what his dad had said. What if he was right? What if he didn’t find anyone until Junction Year? Would he have to stay with someone like Emily? Or go to one of the agencies? Natasha kept talking about the party when she put someone in a St. Andrew’s Cross and whipped them. Dylan couldn’t be less interested, but he pretended to listen.

They arrived at the mansion and Natasha jumped off the car. Immediately, she held Dylan’s hand and blinked, not realizing that Dylan could barely smile. They walked through the front garden and he sighed loudly when he rang the bell. He could feel his hand sweating and hoped Natasha didn’t notice it, they were holding hands and soon it would be gross.

One maid opened the door and let them in. Mr. Fleck appeared coming downstairs, with a big smile and his arms open. He was wearing a purple silk robe and Dylan felt his face going red. It was so tacky it hurt. Immediately, Natasha kissed Dylan on the cheek. Dylan looked at her shiny blue eyes and bright smile, feeling his stomach sink. It was impressive how she could pretend to be totally fine with that.

They followed to the living room, where they found a place on the sofa. Still holding hands, Natasha laid her head on his shoulder. To top it off, Emily showed up, coming from the kitchen.

“Emily is helping with the house chores while her contract doesn’t end,” Mr. Fleck said, smiling. The girl didn’t seem very pleased. She had big dark circles under her eyes like she wasn’t getting much sleep, and her already pale skin was even whiter.

“Dad! That’s not her job!” Dylan exclaimed, worried.

“You should have told me you were with someone, so she wouldn’t be here, and we wouldn’t be wasting her time,” Mr. Fleck snapped back. Dylan looked at Emily, guilty. She was wasting her time here, working as an unpaid maid, wearing the same uniform as the others, a black dress with a white apron, and she didn’t have a lot of time left. She too had to find a life partner before college was over…

“Well, if you had asked me before bringing her here,” Dylan said. Mr. Fleck frowned.

“You’re extremely mouthy lately. I should punish you,” Mr. Fleck said, angry. Dylan resisted not rolling his eyes. He was an adult; he should be treated as one. “Don’t you forget that if you don’t obey me, then no more money!”

“Did you bring me here to scold me?” Dylan asked. Mr. Fleck took a deep breath, sitting back on the chair, while Emily handed everyone a glass. Dylan didn’t feel like accepting, but he didn’t want to cause even more drama, so he took it.

“Of course not,” Mr. Fleck said, smiling again. “I want to know more about you two. I’m so happy that you’re together. At least Dylan has one part of his life figured out.”

Natasha opened up the most genuine smile, squeezed Dylan’s arm, and said:

  “Yes, I’m very lucky.”

  “How did you two met?”

“I live with Oliver and Lucy. When I saw Dylan, it was love at first sight,” she said while looking at Dylan and sighed, exaggeratedly. Dylan felt like throwing up. If there was one thing that he loved about Natasha was that she was true to who she was. And that wasn’t her.

“And… if you don’t mind me asking, you’re the submissive of the relationship, right?” Mr. Fleck asked. Dylan’s eyes grew wide.

  “Dad!”

“Oh, yeah, of course, sir,” Natasha added and kissed Dylan’s cheek.

He suddenly got up, letting go of Natasha’s arm. The girl stared at him, confused for a second. But he couldn’t take it anymore.

“Let’s go for a walk,” Dylan said, looking at her.

  “Sure?”

“Be back for lunch, you two lovebirds!” Mr. Fleck exclaimed, getting up too. The couple smiled one more time and started walking away. They went to the backyard, by the pool, still holding hands in silence. Once they were there alone, Natasha let go of his hand, laughing.

“What kind of conversation was that, bro?!” Natasha said, going back to her normal self. “Did I act well? I think I deserve a prize!”

“Natasha… we have to talk,” Dylan said, feeling his mouth getting bitter. The girl stopped smiling and stared at him with a confused gaze.

  “What’s up?”

“We can’t do that. Pretend that we’re a couple,” Dylan said. He sat down on one of the plastic white chairs by the pool. The water seemed inviting, even though a cool breeze was blowing the leaves from the trees around them. It was a peaceful place, they could hear the birds singing happily, the sun was out. It would be perfect if it wasn’t for my dad, he thought.

“Why not?!” Natasha exclaimed, like she saw nothing wrong with that. Dylan sighed.

“Natasha… I really like you. I like you for real. A lot. And this’s only hurting me. I can’t. I’m sorry. I know that you don’t want a relationship. And last term we tried, and it didn’t work, which is fine. I absolutely want to be your friend. But I can’t pretend that we’re in a relationship because it hurts me. I’m sorry.”

The silence sank in before she could say:

  “It’s okay.”

  “No, it’s not.”

“We won’t let this ruin our friendship, right?” Natasha asked with another smile, once again pretending that everything was okay. Dylan felt even sadder because of that. He wanted to shake her, tell her to be herself again.

“Of course not,” Dylan said instead, also forcing a smile. He was feeling physical pain in his chest like his heart had been punched.

“What will you do now?” Natasha asked.

“I’ll tell my dad. And I’ll also tell him I won’t come here anymore. And that I’m taking Emily.”

  “What do you mean?”

“Well, technically she’s my slave until the two weeks are over. So, I’ll take her to campus because she can’t stay here, my dad will make her a maid without paying her anything, and that’s so fucked up,” Dylan said, shaking his head. Natasha stared at him in silence for a moment and smiled.

  “You’re a good person.”

  “Thanks.”

“I guess I’ll leave now if that
s all right,” she said. Dylan didn’t want her to leave. He wanted her to stay more than anything in the world. He wanted to hug her and tell her he loved her.

  “Sure.”

  “See you later?”

“Of course,” Dylan said. The girl nodded one last time, got up and turned around, heading to the front door.

When she was gone, it was like she’d never been there. He was alone with the pool, the birds, and the mansion in the back. He desperately wanted to cry, like a little boy. He had to talk to his dad. And it wouldn’t be pretty.

He got up, slowly, imagining what would happen if he jumped in the pool and stayed there until his problems disappeared by themselves. His reflection on the pool showed his red tired eyes. I look dreadful, he thought and sighed. It was no good to stay there waiting, so he headed to the house.

He went to the living room and spotted Emily lurking from the kitchen. He pointed at the sofa with his head, telling her to sit there. She obediently accepted.

“What happened?” she whispered like she wasn’t supposed to ask him anything.

“Natasha and I are not together,” Dylan said shrugging, holding his hands tightly on his lap. “It was all for my dad to see.”

“What?” Emily asked, raising her eyebrows below her fringe and putting her hands in front of her mouth. She was still wearing the maid’s uniform.

“Yeah,” Dylan said, sinking on the sofa. “My dad will kill me. But, listen, do you want to stay here?”

  “What do you mean?”

“Until the end of the contract. Do you wanna stay here or would you like to go to my apartment on campus? You can sleep in my bed, and I’ll sleep on the couch. So, my dad can’t force you to do a bunch of chores.”

Emily stared at him in silence but nodded vigorously. “Yes, please!” she exclaimed and held his arm. He looked at it, a surprised pout forming on his lip, and then he smiled. She didn’t let go of his arm.

“Okay. Good. Now, let me face the monster,” Dylan said, getting up. “Go pack so we can leave as soon as possible, all right?”

  “Yes, sir.”

  “And Emily?”
