“I will, Terry. This is going to be sooooo much fun.” Riley replied.
The Drop Bear crawled away from us going to the building behind us and around the corner. Roo and I had to wait until Riley made the first move. We settled in knowing that Riley, while dependable, was not the fastest Lycan around.
Neither Roo or I spoke as we waited. I had nothing much to say as my mind was stuck on the pain tearing at me. Roo looked like she had somethings on her mind, so I let her be. A couple times I considered speaking to her as a means for distracting myself, but decided against it.Talking to Andrea was an option as well, but with them being stuck in their situation I didn’t want to be a distraction. In the end it was me and my pain.
Leaning forward I did a quick check of Dragon. She was laid out on the ground next to Roo. until Riley left she was sandwiched between the two Aussie women. “Dragon?” I sent for the umpteenth time with no response. Whatever was done to her had her down hard.
“Hey, Terry,” Roo said. “I think we forgot about something in all the excitement.”
“What was that?” I asked as I looked at the shifted werekangaroo.
“What happened to Dris?”
My eyes went wide. “Oh shit. I did forget about him. Fuck,” I mumbled. “I’m the worst Alpha ever.”
“To be fair, there was a lot going on. But we should let Andrea know his is missing.”
“Yeah, good idea. I’ll do that now.”
“Hey, Andrea, sorry to bother you,but there was something I might have forgotten, but is pretty important and I should really tell you.”
“Um, okay. I’m all ears, I guess.” Her mental voice was full of worry and confusion.
“Well, you remember Dris, I’m sure you do. He disappeared, and I don’t know where too. I might have forgotten about him during all the excitement until a few minutes ago. I am really sorry about that. You know, both losing him and forgetting about him, and I guess, not telling you. I’m the worst alpha of all time.”
“Oh wow. So you are a rambler when your nervous. Good to know. As far as Dris goes, we will figure out what happened to him. I wish you would have told me sooner, but oh well. Just try to keep me up to date on the important stuff, okay.”
“You got it,” I replied feeling relieved that she hadn’t chewed me a new asshole.
“I think I see her,” Roo said. Riley and Roo’s timing was perfect. I really needed a distraction from the personnel issue.
Right on que, Riley fell onto the trooper manning the gun farthest from us. The man screamed fro a moment before the Drop Bear took his life. Roo grabbed me and jumped. As we soraed through the air she dropped me and continued. I landed on the bed f the middle truck. Pulling, I boosted up to forty percent, then moved.
Three men manned the gun, one at the trigger and two behind him to help. I took out the first with a punch to the throat then kicked the second in the chest. The third took to long to figure out what was going on. I slammed his head into his gun three times. All three men lay on the truck around me.
Looking over I saw Roo jumping from the truck Riley was on and sail over me. She landed on the last truck with able bodied soldiers. I took a step and jumped. Roo took out the two helpers as she landed. The gunner had finished pulling pins from the tripod and was turning the weapon as I landed next to him. A palm strike to the face gve him more to worry about then turning the weapon. Roo grabbed his head from behind and threw him up and back. He landed twenty feet away and stopped moving.
“I don’t think these guys were Lassiter’s zombie soldiers,” I said as I wiped blood on my pants. “That should make winning a little easier.
“What do we do now?” Andrea asked as she walked over to the truck.
I dropped off the bed landing next to my wolf. Pain shot through me at the jarring landing and I fell onto my knees.
“Oh God!” Andrea shouted. “Terry, what’s wrong?”
“Shot,” I wheezed. “Still hurts. Not healing.”
“Oh shit,” Andrea said. “Juan Carlos, we need you.”
“Huh?” I looked up at her.
“He was an army medic. He can bandage you up and I will have him stick by you as we assault the building.”
“So this building is the command center?” I asked.
“yeah.”
I looked over at the five story tinted glass structure. It looked like a obsidian cube. I could see it being the command center to this crazy underground cavern.
“Hey, Andrea,” I said.
“Yeah, Terry?” She asked as Juan Carlos came over. She held up her hand stopping him.
“Why do the crazy evil bad guys always have to build an underground base? This is the second one in like the last two weeks. Why can’t it be a flying city?”
“This is what you’re worried about? Take care of him, Juan.”
The short man dropped to a knee next to me. He bowed his head once before speaking. “My Alpha, I need to see the wound to treat it.”
“Right.” I shifted and pulled my shirt off.
“What the fuck, ” Juan Carlos mumbled.
“What?” I looked down. “What the fuck.”
“Right?” Juan Carlos said.
Not only was the bullet hole still open and seeping blood, but black veins had spread out from the wound. It was ugly, carry, and just wrong.
“The bad guys have chemicals that can slow Lycan healing. I think they have been trying to make it more potent, ” I said.
“I’ll pull the bullet and bandage it, bit I can’t treat this, ” Juan Carlos said.
“Do what you can and we will figure the rest out.”
The short man nodded. He pulled a small bag off his shoulders then removed a few items. With a weird set of long handled pliers in hand he turned to me. “Since we are immune to disease and heal quick, I don’t have antiseptics. No pain killers either. Sorry.”
The pliers plunged into the wound. Pain became all I knew for a few seconds. Then he was waving a hand in front of my face.
“Still with us, Alpha?” There was no malice or mirth in his gaze, which surprised me.
“Yeah, ” I mumbled. “Hurt like hell though.”
“Which is why I think this is worse than it looks. I think I caught a whiff or rot, but I can’t be sure. This crap they use to block smell is infuriating.”
“I know right. Glad it wasn’t just me.”
“One of those freaky twins thinks it’s something they put in the dust.”
His comment about the twins bothered me. Considering he was administering medical aid, I decided to let it go. I did wonder if the twins could fix the poison though. Finding out would be well worth it, for science.
Juan Carlos set a large flat cotton bandage against the wound and tapped it down. He gave the black lines on my skin another look before standing. “That’s all I can do. I hope we find a way to deal with that stuff soon.”
“Thanks, ” I said. He nodded and moved away.
“I’ve never seen anything like this, ” Catya said as she knelt next to me. I hadn’t even seen her approach so when she spoke I jerked back a little. My hand went over the wound as I hissed in pain.
“I am sorry, my Alpha. I didn’t mean to startle you.”
“You should come from the front, ” Catarina said as she did just that. “I’ve told you this before. One day someone is going to knock you on your ass for scaring them.”
“How are you two doing?” I asked.
“We will be better in a moment,” Catya said. She unbuttoned her pants and grabbed my hand stuffing down between her legs.
“What are you doing?” I asked, but I didn’t remove me hand.
“We are doing our part for our Alpha, ” Catarina said. She knelt down in front of me and opened my pants. “I thought I was going to have to suck you, but you are ready. Good. Time is short.”
“That doesn’t answer my question.”
Catarina pulled off her pants informing me that much like her sister, she went co
mmando. She then straddled me and used her hand to guide me in.
She leaned forward and kissed my ear. “My sister and I have absolute control of our bodies. You must cum quick so we can get back to kicking asses. We will take our cue from you and cum too. That way the magic will heal. It won’t be as strong as a long fuck, but it will help.”
Catherine leaned back and rode me hard and fast. Catya grabbed my wrist and ground her sex against my palm while two of my fingers were in her. With Catarina working me hard and fast it only took a couple minutes. I stammered something out that sounded a lot like, I’m coming. It must have worked, because the twins began breathing hard and moaning.
After lifting off and buttoning my pants back up Catarina pulled a corner of the bandage up. I was able to see the whole was closed and scared, but the veins were still there and it still hurt. She frowned and said something in her native language to Catya.
“We can try again when time is better, ” Catya said. “For now this is the best we can do.
Chapter 32
Andrea was talking to a couple wolves that were busy fastening the soldiers arms behind their backs with zip ties. She stopped talking when she spotted me limping over and waved the wolves away.
At some point I would have to learn all of their names and see about spending time with them. It seemed impossible to fit that into my schedule considering how busy I would be spending time with my Tua. Of course, there would be no leisure time until my Tua were back to normal.
“I hoped the twins would get you back into fighting shape,” Andrea said.
“You sent them?”
“I did. I knew Juan Carlos couldn't fix you, but his helping was necessary. I needed you to see the difference in him after you beat him. I thought it might help you understand how a wolf pack works.”
“I guess it did. I was surprised by how civil and helpful he was.”
“Its because he sees you as an Alpha. To be honest, I'm surprised things have gone so smooth so far. This thing with you being my Alpha and me being thier's, well, its unprecedented. I don't know if it had ever happened.”
“Who knows. From what I've heard, there were more Tuatha a long time ago. So, what's the plan?”
“We need to get in. We've tried the door and it's locked. A couple wolves have gone around, but no luck. This thing is locked down tight. With this super dark tint we can't even look 8nside to see what's what,” Andrea said.
Not for the first time, I felt a little inadequate as the leader of the wolves. I was grateful for her willingness to continue being Alpha.
“I am Alpha,” Andrea said reminding me that she wad tapped into my thoughts and feelings. “You are Alpha of the Alpha and I am Alpha. I will continue to lead our pack of wolves and you will lead me and the other Tua, when we fix them.” She stepped in close and placed a hand on my cheek. “It doesn't take a genius to see how be8ng with you benefits us all. More than that, I have seen you mind and heart, and I can say with certainty that I love you, Terry. I will lead your wolves and stand by your side.” She kissed me.
“I love you too, Andrea.”
“Good. Now be my Alpha and stop doubting yourself.” She placed a finger on my lips. “No response needed. I understand who you were a few weeks ago. And I understand who you are now. I'm wet just thinking about who you will be when you figure out that you are so much more than you used to be. Just promise me you won't become an ass like Arnold and we will always be good.”
“You have my word on that,” I replied. I straightened my back even though it hurt and looked her in the eye. “As your Alpha, I order you to kick my ass if I ever start acting like that fuck Arnold.”
Andrea laughed. “I will follow your order to the letter, my Alpha. We need to figure out how to crack this nut. I could use some fresh perspective?”
“Have you found anything on the troopers that might let us in?” I asked.
“No. From what we gathered so far they are outside contractors from Lassiter Security.”
“I thought they were alive?”
“They are. Apparently, he has living staff along with his zombies. It makes sense if you think about it. His liv8ng troops can function independently giving him the ability to hire out more than one contract at a time. It's good business. I was thinking, can you sense Dris like you did the Dragon?”
“I'm not sure if I can, but I will try.”
Closing my eyes and breathing deep cleared my head. I felt Dragon and Andrea right away. Then I got a sense of where the rest of my Tua were, but nothing from the wolf pack. I focused on my connection to Andrea and felt the threads from the pack. Tracing one down I became aware of who it was, Catya, but not where she was.
“No luck, I said. “I can sense their energy through you, but I can't feel their location. I'm sure the number of pack members hasn't changed.”
“At least we know he is alive. We also known he is here in this cavern somewhere. I think our best bet to find him is breaking in and taking control of the facility.”
“I agree,” I said. “And I have an idea.”
It took a little while to get ready and have Juan Carlos show me how to use the equipment. As a military veteran he had the knowledge needed along with a woman I hadn't met until then, Princess. The three of us stood on the flatbed trucks behind machine guns pointed at the glass structure. Juan Carlos was in the center and he was our countdown man. He had one hand up in the air and one hand on the trigger. Looking to me for confirmation he dropped a finger after I nodded.
Three machine guns opened fire at the glass door. Bullets punched through making neat holes. We kept at it opening dozens of holes in the first few seconds. The occasional high pitched pangs signaled the ricochet of bullets. The Glass was thick and impervious to small arms.
After almost ten seconds the glass pane of the left door shattered and the pieces fell like a waterfall. We all stopped firing. A smile spread on my face at having been in control of so much power. Pulling the trigger was a simple thing, but being in charge of the gun was a thrill.
Andrea lead the rest of the pack in while I waited. Juan Carlos and Princess unloaded their weapons and kicked the ammo off the flatbeds. Once done they hopped up and unloaded my gun.
“You are going to have to teach me how to use these thing properly after all of this,” I said.
“You got it, boss. So we keeping these?” Juan Carlos asked.
“That is my intent,” I said. “We need to get through this and see what happens.”
Juan Carlos kicked the ammo off the truck. “Clear. Ready to move.”
The two wolves jumped off the truck and ran inside. I took a little longer to climb down so as not to aggravate my wound. While the outside was healed there was still internal damage that hurt a lot. We had planned this as well. The two wolves would probably be better utilized inside than helping me climb down.
As I turned away from the truck the sound of gun fire came from inside the building. I stopped along the glass wall and peeked in to see if I could get in without being shot. Juan Carlos had called it a Turkey Peek and said it was a technical Term used by infantry troops. I leaned over and got a quick eyeful then leaned back. No one was there waiting to shoot at me.
I slid in and ran-limped. The area inside was huge. Marble covered the floor, walls and stairs. A large set of stairs dominated the room. My wolves were spread out hiding behind columns on three levels of the stairs. The third level looked to be the top of this set of ornate steps. I made my way up and stopped behind Princess.
“The guns outside are clear,” I sent to Andrea.
“Ten four, we are running into heavy resistance.”
“Drop team moving in?” I asked.
“They should be doing their thing any minute now. Once they do, were moving and bringing hell with us.” My wolf sent a mental chuckle.
Screams sounded from the direction of the enemy less than a minute later. Gunfire directed at my pack stopped. Riley went high as soon as the building was
breached taking three wolves with her. They were tasked with getting behind enemy lines and dropping on the farthest ranks of troopers.
Andrea and the front line of wolves moved. They closed in on the bad guys using the Drop Bear distraction and attacked. The remainder of the pack charged up the stairs and Roo landed next to me. Without giving me any indication of what she planned, the kangaroo wrapped me up in her arms and leapt.
I screamed at the sudden flight as we cleared the stairs landing at the top. Then Roo set me down and nodded. She jumped and landed on an enemy trooper.
With my wound the smart play was to stay back and let the pack handle the attack. Something I would have been glad to do if not for the shear numbers the troops had. We were outnumbered five to one. It wouldn't take much for the tides to shift against us.
Reaching out, I pulled, upping my take from the pack to forty percent. The extra draw helped deal with the pain and I hoped it kept me from doing more damage to my wound.
“To hell with it,” I mumbled to myself.
Running at a jog put me in the fight quickly. I jumped on a trooper and knocked him out. Then I moved to the next man in line. With the help of my wolves we moved through the enemy troops like water through grate.
At the end of the fight I ended up standing in front of a down trooper with a large Drop Bear gnawing on his head. Her half lidded eyes were unfocused and she alternated between moaning and humming with pleasure.
“I think you got him, Riley.”
“Hmm?” Riley's eyes opened all the way and she looked up at me. She smiled then let the man go. “Hi, Terry. This guy is was alive and tastes way better than the dead guys. Guess I got carried away.”
“That's fine. Your a hero and if you want to get carried away then by all means go for it,” I said
“You think I'm a hero?” Riley's eyes teared up as she asked.
“Yeah, Riley. I lost track of how many times you've came out of nowhere and saved the day. You're my hero for sure.”
“Awe!” Riley shifted back giving me an eyeful of her curvy nude body. She jumped up and wrapped her arms and legs around me. “I love you so much, Terry. Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you!”
