Thank you to my teachers. They are the reason why I’m here, writing this note. For Scott Peterson, who entered my story into the San Bernardino County Writing Celebration when I was in the eighth grade. For Glen Taylor, who took me to Europe with his tour group, where I fell in love with Moorish architecture. For Mr. Kelly, who fostered my love of nature. For Erin Christopher, who forced that love down my throat (said lovingly). For Dr. Skillman, who taught me to love plants. And, most of all, for Jennifer Mather, whom I wanted to be like when I grew up.
About the Author
ML Spencer lives in Southern California with her three children and two cats. She has been obsessed with fantasy ever since the days of childhood bedtime stories. She grew up reading and writing fantasy fiction, playing MMORPG games, and living, as mom put it, “in her own worlds.” ML now spends each day working to bring those worlds into reality. She loves to read and write grimdark fantasy because it probes the deep, dark questions of human nature and moral ethics.
