Deadly Chaos (Steel Roses Book 2)

I can see the way she sighs when nothing opens but instead of being discouraged, she gets more comfortable in his chair. Lifting her skirt to reveal her now bare pussy. I feel the growl building in my chest and ripping from my mouth as we watch her as she grabs a pen from his desk and starts fucking herself with it. I. Am. Going. To. Kill. Her.
Skin this fucking slut alive.
My nails dig into Luca's shoulder. Her only saving grace is that we can't actually see her fucking pussy as she fucks herself in his chair. We can just tell what the fuck she's doing. Unfortunately, it's clear as day and more than enough for her to go on my kill list. She will be exterminated like the vermin she is.
Luca's hand reaches up to try and ease the hold I have on him. "You have to burn that fucking chair. And every goddamn thing she touches."
"I know, baby." He soothes me as he pulls me down in his lap as this little show plays out.
"Holy shit," Kade breathes. I force myself to continue to watch as she replaces the pen with the remote to the TV in the corner. She only pushes it in and out of herself a couple of times before replacing it back on his desk. "Does she just think you won't notice?" Kade's incredulous expression is almost enough to set my rage back a notch, but not really.
Jade shakes her head, red staining her cheeks as she watches with us. "I think it's more about," she hesitates, looking at me. "More about marking her territory."
"She's dead. Fucking dead."
Kade laughs but Luca returns to stroking patterns on my back, trying to tame the demons that are about to be unleashed on this little skank. I'm shaking in my fury.
"You can't kill her," Luca coos in my ear. Trying to keep me calm enough to still make it to the club tonight. I have no idea if I'll be able to dance tonight unless I'm able to spill some blood between then and now.
His eyes are on me, so he misses the way she grabs The Macallan that sits on his desk. "You sure about that?" I taunt as I watch her. And yupp. She's doing exactly what I thought she was going to do.
That's a six thousand dollar bottle of whiskey she's getting herself off on.
"Oh, fuck no," Luca curses as he watches her.
"It's trash now." I purse my lips as she throws her head back, clearly enjoying this shit. She definitely needs to die.
Luca swallows but nods, agreeing that it will get tossed. I know he doesn't want to. He loves that whiskey, but it's ruined now. I don't care how much it's worth. And it's not like Luca is hurting for money anyways.
We all watch as she finishes. She uses her panties to clean herself up before placing them on the seat. The whiskey goes back on the desk and she straightens her skirt before strutting back out into the bar area.
"Now can I kill her?"
Jade and Kade both try to stifle their laughter, but it leaks out. I ignore them as I glare at Luca waiting for his okay. I can see the way he's straining against giving me the okay. The whiskey really pushed him over the edge. Finally, he sighs and shakes his head.
"She's a dumb slut. Not an enemy."
I scoff, grabbing Jade's hand and pulling her away from them. It seems they want to just continue pissing me off today.
Chapter Twenty-Three
Fuck.
Scar has not looked at me even once since the whole CCTV incident.
My lip curls as I think about it. I already had Joe assign some lower level employees go in to clear out all the shit. Even The Macallan. That one hurt but I know I can buy another bottle. I sigh. It's not the same.
But what else could I do?
No way was I touching that shit again. Scar would castrate me if I even thought about it. And besides that, I couldn't force myself to get past what that slut did anyways. I can feel the grimace on my face as I think about it. My lip pulling up in a sneer. Fucking nasty. Who does that?
I just can't work out what in the ever loving fuck she could have been thinking. Jade said marking her territory but even that seems absurd. She hasn't tried anything since Scar first broke her hand. The way she tried to get into my desk drawers nags at me.
A shiver works its way down my spine. The entire thing gives me the major creeps.
The entire thing pisses me off even more because now Scar refuses to be anywhere near me. As if this shit is somehow my fault. I've done nothing to encourage the waitress. She isn't even supposed to be working here and this is the first time that she has since the last incident.
I rub my hands down my face. I saw the look in Letty's eyes. The questions. She really thought for a moment that I might have touched Taylor while she was gone.
I barely ever sought out other women, even before Scar left. But after? After I couldn't even stomach the thought of it. Letty is it for me. If there was ever a doubt, there isn’t now. I know she would be confident in that if I wasn't being so fucking weird with her.
A little bitch.
That's what she called me. To my goddamn face. And fuck if she isn't wrong.
I have been a little bitch, but I can't seem to make myself snap out of it. I swore to her I wasn't going to let anything get between us anymore, not even herself. Little did I know that it would be none other than myself standing in our way.
I don't want to be this way. I crave to claim her the way Kade and Noah both have. Need to feel her clenching around me. Taste her skin on my lips. Her arousal coating me until I'm lost to the feel of her. I want to get lost in her storm. To let her break me down and release my worst demons, giving them free reign. To be at her beck and call, worshipping her with my hands and tongue. Bringing the very best parts of myself to the surface even as my darkness consumes me.
She's a goddess that calls to all my broken pieces. Healing the hurt, taming the beast, unleashing the havoc that runs in my blood. A force of nature that can take me anywhere she damn well pleases. So why the hell am I holding back?
I sigh. I watch the way she leads Jade through the crowd on the lower level, making their way back up to the VIP section, now that people are piling into the club doors. Everyone is now here and even as frustrated as I am, I'm looking forward to their reactions of seeing what Scar has put Jade in. I'm not surprised at all, but it is nice to see the proof of their bond out in the open for everyone else.
I know Letty can feel the weight of my gaze on her. She always can. She’s always been able to. She never can resist the pull between us. Neither can I. Usually. It’s a huge part of why I find myself unable to move forward with her.
For the last eight years, all we’ve done is dance around each other. Toe the line of being something more but always pulling back before stepping over it. Now, we’ve both agreed to risk it all, but I can’t seem to let go of the binds that have held me back for all this time. "Fuck," I growl to myself as she pointedly keeps her head turned the opposite direction from me.
I have to fucking do something about this horse shit. It can't continue this way. I'm barely hanging on to my sanity at this point.
Someone nudges my arm and I turn to find Declan watching Scar with the same fierceness I recognize in all of us when it comes to her. "Still?" he asks. He doesn't even have to expand on what he means.
I sigh, "I don't know, man. I just," I trail off, not sure how to put all that I'm feeling into words. After so many years in the making, I guess there's just this fear that lingers. Tainting the possibility of what we could be. What if we ruin everything we already are?
He nods like he gets it even though I barely even understand it. I've come to realize it's part of what draws Scar to him. He's already finding his place amongst us, slipping in almost seamlessly. You know, except for a couple of brawls and shit. But that's nothing for us. At least no one was stabbed.
"You’re thinking too much," he says after several moments of silence. Jade and Scar were stopped by Joe and I can see the way he's taking in Jade's shirt. The other guys are already sitting up here at the table we've become used to occupying. It sits in the corner, giving a perfect view of the entire upper level but has enough space for all
of us to spread out comfortably with no one at our backs.
I tear my eyes away from them to meet Declan's. "Kiss her. Forget the bullshit and just kiss her." He shrugs as if it's the easiest answer in the world. I guess it should be, shouldn't it? I nod, not knowing what else there really is to say. He sighs and I know he has no faith in me.
"I'll fix it," I swear, determined to do exactly that. Tonight.
We leave the railing and make our way to the table just as Scar pulls Jade up. Ian, Ry, Holden, and Tyler all sit there, drinking and talking about the kids. Mikey and Ronan are supposed to be bringing Britt with them. I know Scar misses her, especially since she missed Roe's birthday.
Their eyes snap and take in the two women. They both look ready to party, the way their arms are intertwined with each other and the huge grins on their faces. I can see the faint blush creeping up Jade's neck and know she's probably out of her comfort zone but still managing to enjoy herself.
I can tell the exact moment the guys notice her shirt. More specifically, the vibrant blue rose on her chest. Their eyes widen comically and immediately seek out Scar only to find her smug smirk. She was looking forward to this moment.
Tyler gasps, "Your shirt." A confused look takes over Jade's face as Scar fights laughing.
"Does it not look okay?" she asks, insecurity coloring her tones. Both Ian and Holden rear back and smack Ty for his comment. I chuckle watching their antics. D and I make it to the table and stand just a step behind the women.
"Did you hire Jade here and not say shit?" Holden narrows his eyes at me. He doesn't have the balls to take that tone with Scar. He shouldn’t' have the balls to take it with me either. A simple cock of the brow and tilt of the head and he sighs, falling back into place.
I don't begrudge the guy though. I can see the way him and Ian are both starting to care for Jade. I can take some disrespect in the name of protecting their family. And Jade is family now. To all of us. There’s no doubt about that.
I put my hands up. "Wasn't me." My eyes dart over to Scar and their eyes widen even more.
She just chuckles, pulling Jade even closer into her. It's funny the way Scar is shielding and protecting her even though she's the shorter of the two. Doesn't stop her from being a predator though. She lifts her shoulder casually. "No one will fuck with her when she's under my protection."
Ian's eyes narrow at her. "You're claiming her." He doesn't say it as a question, he already knows the answer and by the look in his eyes, he isn't totally thrilled with this turn of events. Scar's eyes are practically glowing with the way she's gloating about this.
"Hell yeah, I am. Jade's one of mine now," she says smugly. I can see the dare in her eyes, and I get the feeling she's trying to play matchmaker again.
Jade on the other hand is completely lost by this conversation. The blush rising to her cheeks as she remains the center of all their focus. She laughs nervously. "The hell are you all going on about?"
Ian is the one who responds first, and I don't miss the way Scar preens over his answer. "The blue rose." Jade looks down at her shirt and runs her fingers over the design.
"Pretty, right?" She smiles fondly down at it.
All of the men nod their agreement. "Dancers here, like Scar," Tyler explains as he points to Scar, "wear roses to signify that they are dancers." Jade looks to Scar for confirmation, and she nods her agreement.
Ian sighs, rubbing his temples. Tyler continues, "Each dancer has their own personal color." He gazes around to see who is all on the floor tonight. He points to Cherry who is getting ready to go on stage. "That's Cherry. She wears bright, cherry red roses whenever she's dancing here."
Holden points to another dancer that just got here. "That's Dare," he tells her. "She wears maroon colored roses."
"Okay." Jade nods, understanding dawning on her. "They all have specific colors." She looks down again at her shirt before looking up at Scar. "I don't really know how to dance though," she admits.
Scar throws her head back as she cackles. Eyes are drawn this way and I see how people smile watching her. She always makes the atmosphere here that much livelier. It's the reason why Steel Roses has become all that it is. She's a drug everyone wants a taste of.
She finally settles down, but people are still paying more attention to our group now than they were before. A fact I know she hasn't missed when she declares, "You're not a dancer Jade. You're mine." Her smile is wicked as she throws a pointed look at Ian, who sighs again.
"Blue is Scar's color," he explains. "Not a shade of blue, all the shades of blue."
"It's a well known fact," Holden adds. Tyler nods next to him.
"Scar broke the last girl's hand who dared to wear blue roses here."
Scar practically snarls at the reminder of Taylor. "Goddammit. You had to bring her up?" I glare at Ian. He has no way of knowing what the fuck happened earlier, but he just ruined the tentative hold she had on her temper.
Everyone at the table reels back as her anger explodes out of her in palpable waves. Ry turns to me, questions in his eyes. I can feel the weight of Declan's gaze on me too. The only one unaffected is Jade as she starts running her fingers down Scar's arm, whispering something to her in an attempt to reign her back in.
I'm not sure when or how the two of them got so close but if Britt matches Scar's fun and daring personality, Jade matches her damage. Balancing out her crazy. By the evil glint taking over Scar's eyes, I can tell whatever Jade is murmuring to her isn't a plea for peace. I'm guessing she's encouraging the deadly beast Scar can be but bringing her to heel to destroy in a more controlled manner.
I sigh. Scar does not need any help with that. This is going to be a mess. I already know it. "We had another sort of run in with Taylor today," I admit to the group.
"Oh shit," Ian breathes. I can hear the apology there. Everyone knows better than to push Scar but it’s not really his fault. I wave him off as I try to move the conversation into a different direction.
Scar has already done three sets tonight and I can see the way she's using her dance to release her pent up rage. Taylor isn't here for her to take it out on so she's taking it out on her body.
Dancing to faster beats, twisting her body into harder and harder poses. The crowd is eating up her energy and I can tell how much the atmosphere is fueling her to push even more.
My heart beats rapidly in my chest, craving to go to her and take this restless energy for myself. To consume it and wear her out until she barely has enough strength to hang on to that damn pole anymore.
The lower level is full to the brim. All the tables up here have been booked through the night as well. Word spread quickly about Scar being back here after months. She's never gone this long without an appearance here before. People have been chomping at the bit to bask in her presence again.
Nothing in the world, no woman, no music, no drug creates the same hype that my siren does. Where Scar walks, people stop and notice. When she dances? People fall into a trance like I've never seen before. She captivates her audience with every shift of her body. Every drop, stunt, and hip roll demands attention until you're lost in her aura.
I look at the men I’ve started to think of as brothers. The hunger for her obvious in all of their eyes. Even Ryder and Declan. No matter how much they try to hide it, they can't. Not when she's like this. Lost to the music and the way it flows through her body like they were always meant to be one. Her body is an instrument to tell the story of this music. And tonight? Tonight, that story is all about sex.
Pure and simple, carnal need. Raw. Passionate. Fucking wild and reckless.
She flips upside down on the pole, dropping into a jade split, holding it before lowering herself back down to the stage. She dips her hips and shakes her ass, gripping the pole as she bends over to put herself on display.
Fuck.
I'm straining against my jeans, almost painfully, with my need for her. The song finally ends, and she shoots the crowd a little wink and one last sh
immy of her ass before hopping off the stage.
The entire time we’ve been here, she’s managed to keep her gaze from colliding with mine. If she isn't dancing, she's at the table with everyone else. Pointedly ignoring both me and Kade. I’d be thankful it isn’t just me, but all I can focus on is the way she averts her gaze from where she knows I stand, once more.
I'm done. She struts back towards the table, and I feel something in me snap.
I step out from behind the bar as I hear the roaring applause and cheers of the crowd as they hear she will have one more set tonight. I grab her arm and pull her into my body.
She turns sharply, death in her eyes. "You lost, Bossman?" Her tone is cutting before dropping to a slow, taunting whisper. "Or did you think I was that slut, Taylor?"
Fuck. No.
I growl as I press into her so she can feel my hard length against her core. "Don't fucking go there, Letty. Not even in that pretty little head of yours."
She matches my growl with one of her own. "Then why are you so dead set on protecting her?"
I sigh, running my fingers through her raven colored hair. Sometimes I miss the natural champagne shade it once was but this color fits her so well. She could be bald, and I'd still be enamored by her. She remains tense under my ministrations, refusing to lean into me the way I know her body craves. I hate how much doubt she still has about us. I loathe I only have myself to blame.
"You've never killed innocents." I whisper in her ear. "She's a fucking cunt but she's not seeped in the same darkness that your victims all have been thus far." I lean back to look into her eyes. "She isn't worth stealing that piece of your humanity."
She scoffs and rolls her eyes, but I can see the way some of her anger bleeds out of her. Not all of it. But enough to ease the rapid beat of my heart.
I take her hand in my own and turn back towards my office. "Come on, sweet girl." I have an idea that just might resolve the rest of her anger. Or at least erase her doubts.
