“I’m saying stay.” Leigh slid her long, slender fingers from the older woman’s cheek, down and around to cup the back of her neck. She carefully pulled the woman into her, their bodies molding together instinctively. “I’m saying that I want you to stay. Please. Stay with me.”
Beth’s breath let out in a sob as the brunette pulled her forward, pressing their lips softly together, both of them pouring their souls into the electric touch. That kiss, that one precious moment, cocooned around them until they became wrapped in their own perfect world, everything else becoming insignificant as the muted sounds of clapping faded into the most beautiful silence the two women had ever heard. Fifteen years of love and loss filtered into the air around them, painting their history in the delicate, tender touch of their fingertips as they kissed. Leigh held Beth as close as their two bodies would physically allow and imagined the next fifteen years of her life and all those that would follow, years she knew she’d spend loving the perfectly imperfect miracle she now held in her arms.
