Jordane's Hunger

Page 6

by Tia Didmon

His lips dropped to hers, gentle coaxing. They were at odds with the steel cords that wrapped around her body. He held her locked to him. When she feared he would never let go, his hands slid down her sides before his teeth nipped at her neck, sending lightning through her bloodstream. He massaged her buttocks as his lips caressed her neck. She clung to his large forearms; afraid she would fall if she let go. He slid his hand between her legs, caressing her inner thigh before rubbing against her damp heat. Each stroke fanned the flames that raced through her blood. She pushed against him, needing him to extinguish the fire. Ignite it. She wasn’t sure.

Her arms circled his neck, trusting him to catch her if she fell, before parting her lips to allow his aggressive invasion of her mouth. She returned his fervor and more, clutching his neck, attempting to bring him closer, though her breasts already ached from pressing against him.

His hands traveled up her stomach, caressing the toned surface before he splayed his fingers across her stomach. She felt the heat like a brand. “I have waited so long for you.”

She pulled his lips back to hers. “Well stop waiting.”

He smiled against her lips. “I know you’re not a virgin but I am big. I want you ready for me.”

Kiki moaned as his fingers circled her clit. Fire raced through her blood. “Trust me, I’m ready.”

Before she realized what he was doing, Jordane dropped to his knees and hooked her leg over one shoulder. His tongue stabbed deep into her aching pussy, forcing her to clutch his shoulders for traction. She was thankful for the stone wall, even though the rock scraped her back. When she thought she couldn’t take anymore he grabbed her ass, delving deeper into her slick channel. He devoured her, growling his pleasure as she hovered on a scream she would never allow.

The orgasm ripped through her body like a tidal wave. Fire. Excitement. Fear. Emotions she thought lost, all cascaded over her in a rush of heat and wind. A moan of regret escaped her lips when he let her foot slip to the floor. He hooked her legs around his waist as his hard shaft nudged her entrance. She had a moment of fear, then tramped it down. She chose this. Nothing. No one, especially her past would take this from her.

He was so thick. So long. She bit her bottom lip to stop crying out as he inched inside her. Her slick flesh stretched slowly. Pain and pleasure made her gasp as her nails bit into his shoulders. He tipped up her head. “Tell me if you feel discomfort. I need to know you are all right.”

She could feel the tension in his body. Still his only concern was for her. “I’m good. You were right you’re... big.”

He kissed her before he set a slow pace. Each steady stroke set a fire inside her. While not her first time, it felt like it. This wasn’t lust. It wasn’t sex. It was ecstasy, and that was something she hadn’t believed existed. She began to push back, forcing Jordane to speed his pace to keep up.

He growled. “I don’t want to lose control. It’s too soon.”

Kiki tilted her hips. She was flexible and used those limber muscles to her advantage, grinding down on him as he increased his tempo.

He gripped her hips so he could thrust harder. “Dammit, Kiki.”

She loved her name on his lips. The exasperation. That he wasn’t in control. She wasn’t either, but she would never admit it. The tsunami slammed her body with such ferocity, she gasped for breath. She came, clamping down on him so hard his hand took a chunk out of the stone when he slammed it against the wall. She thought his hand turned into a claw but when she blinked, it was simply a hand. One that crumbled the stone beneath it.

She took a long breath. “How old is this cave?”

Jordane tried to slow his breathing. “Why?”

“Because, if we keep this up, we’re likely to take the whole mountain down.”

The light behind his eyes was as mesmerizing as it was sexy. “If anyone could cause a landslide of those proportions, it is you.”

Kiki waited as he eased out of her, placing her on her feet. “Says the man who disintegrates rock with his fingertips. Though I appreciate you not singeing anything... important.”

“My powers cannot hurt you,” he said.

“I’m human, you’re like a sexy superman who melts tall buildings instead of leaping over them.”

Jordane chuckled. “You are the most unpredictable creature I have ever met.”

Kiki put her hands on her hips. “Creature?”

Flickering green eyes roamed her body. “Oh yes.”

She watched his cock harden. “I don’t even want to know why that’s a turn on for you.”

Jordane pulled her to him. “Everything about you turns me on.”

Kiki stiffened, remembering the last time she heard those words. A fear she had worked a lifetime to forget.

  “Did I hurt you?”

She shook her head, not trusting her voice. Not wanting her past to intrude on the perfect moment.

Jordane took her hand, forcing her finger open to reveal the cuts from her fingernails. “That isn’t nothing.”

  “It isn’t you.”

“Are you going to tell me...”

  “No,” she snapped.

His voice dropped. “Kiki, whatever it is, we will face it together.”

“I already dealt with it. It’s over. Drop it or I’m leaving.”

Jordane’s eyes went dark. His head turned as if he was listening to something. “This conversation is not over.”

  “But?”

“The pack is on alert,” he said.

  “What’s going on?”

  “They are hunting,” Jordane said.

  Chapter 5

Jordane attempted to take Kiki’s hand after they exited the SUV. He resisted the urge to force her to kiss him when she snatched her hand away. She was such a challenge. Such a gift. He could kiss her all day. Fight with her all night. Everything about his little ninja appealed to him. Even the dirty looks she was giving him now. He opened the large oak door to the Moretti mansion, allowing Kiki to enter first. He would educate her later what it meant to be his but now he had to find out what had put the pack on alert.

Tovan approached as soon as he entered. He glanced at Kiki. His nod was slight. She wouldn’t understand his brother had acknowledged her as Jordane’s mate. That he could smell Jordane all over her.

He glanced around the empty room. “Where is everyone?”

Tovan pointed toward the rear bedroom. “There has been an incident.”

His heartbeat spiked. He could smell fear. “What happened?”

“The Ladon infiltrated the mansion,” Tovan said.

  Jordane growled. “How?”

“He took Chad’s form. Adrianna let him in. Valen had asked that we limit our patrols to the exterior of the house, so once inside, he felt safe.”

“That gives the impression that he knew Valen had us stationed outside.”

  Tovan nodded. “It does.”

  “Is Adrianna alive?”

“The Ladon attacked her. He planned to rape her in her own room.”

Jordane forced his warrior to remain calm. He felt the power rising. The need to fight. To protect the innocent. “How was he discovered?”

“Chad arrived to see Maddie. He heard Adrianna scream. He called to us before he attacked the Ladon.”

“The healer attacked him?” Jordane asked.

Tovan nodded. “He would have made an excellent warrior. His animal bit the Ladon in both legs. The intruder was immobile on the floor when we arrived.”

  “Where is the Ladon now?”

“He did not survive my interrogation,” Tovan said.

“Did you get anything useful from him?”

“No. Louis is smart. He implored the same tactics he did with Draven. He sends them on a mission and moves the women. They aren’t given the new location until they prove their mission is a success.”

“Did you talk to Adrianna? Did the Ladon say anything to her?”

Tovan shook her head. “She screamed until we lef
t the room. She also made the healer leave. We had to send the child in to attend Adrianna until Laura arrived.”

“You sent Maddie to take care of Adrianna after her rape. Are you nuts?” Kiki hissed.

Tovan glanced at his brother. “Maddie knew what had happened. She said she would help Adrianna. I am told they spend a lot of time together. Adrianna only allows Laura and Maddie near her.”

“Considering the abuse she was subjected to by the demon race, I’m not surprised,” Kiki said.

Jordane growled. “You believe her abuse was because she is a demon female?”

She shook her head. “No, but when you have been mistreated like that... you lose faith. She doesn’t trust men. Doesn’t trust demons. The only two visitors she allows are human and female. That isn’t a coincidence. Laura and Maddie are the only two people she feels safe around.”

They heard a door close before Laura approached. Tears streaked her face.

Kiki rushed to her. “Are you all right?”

Laura nodded. “It’s always difficult for me to... touch Adriana. Her abuse was so violent. It is always forefront in her mind. She wouldn’t allow Chad in the room until I promised he would remain in his animal form while he was with her.”

Kiki frowned. “I’m surprised she let him in there at all.”

Jordane felt his heart skip. Fear. Suspicion. He hadn’t felt such things since Tovan was a child but while he hadn’t been the parent his brother deserved, he had kept him safe. Had someone done the same for his mate? Laura looked at him before a tear rolled down her cheek. “A Ladon cannot impersonate an animal only a human.” His heart squeezed when Kiki wiped the tear from Laura’s cheek.

  “It’s okay, honey,” she said.

Laura cleared her throat. “He hit her but he didn’t have a chance to... you know.”

Jordane nodded. “Is Chad healing her now?”

Laura’s eyes remained on Kiki. “Physically, yes.”

Kiki cleared her throat. “Can Valen make the memory older? Like he did for Maddie.”

“She won’t let him near her. He tried once, and she... attempted suicide. She hates herself. We try to convince her that they abused her beyond her ability to cope. That she isn’t responsible for what she did. It doesn’t work. Even now she feels...”

“That she deserved it,” Kiki said.

  Laura nodded.

Jordane growled. “No woman deserves rape. Not under any circumstances.”

Laura shared an intimate look with Kiki. His stomach clenched. “You’re right,” she said.

Kiki glanced back at him, uncomfortably. “Where is the pack?”

“They are looking for clues. Why the Ladon made such a brazen attack? What they wanted.”

Laura sighed. “Louis ordered him to take Adrianna back. He wants her bred like the other women but her attacker wanted her impregnated with his own seed. I’m guessing there’s a hierarchy, and this guy was low on the totem pole.”

“They had Adrianna before. They could have kept her then,” Kiki said.

Laura rubbed her temple. “They didn’t know they needed her.”

Jordane nodded. “Louis had sex with her and discarded her. Now that his breeders are... failing. He has changed his mind.”

Kiki’s fingers clenched. “That sick fuck. I plan to twist his balls off and feed them to him when...”

Jordane pulled her to him. “You will not confront Louis Lestant. He’s older than any living demon and not like the other Ladon. He is a true Chameleon. You don’t understand the power that accompanies those years of... experience.”

Kiki pushed away from him, straightening her uniform. “I might let you kill him, but only if you let me twist his balls off first... and you ask nicely.”

He forced himself not to smile, surprised that he could in such a situation. His mate was bloodthirsty. Sexy. Deadly. He was in so much trouble. She did not understand her hold on him. “It would be unwise not to touch base with your team. The PIA has been investigating the Ladon and PURE. Find out if they have any new intel.”

  Kiki nodded. “I’ll contact Zane.”

Jordane felt his claws threaten to extend.

Kiki hit Zane’s contact in her phone, noticing the six missed calls. He picked up on the first ring.

“Where the fuck have you been?” he snapped.

She sighed. “We had no reception, Zane.”

“Don’t give me that bullshit. There is reception...”

“Not where we were. You can be mad at me but never insinuate that I am lying to you. I don’t,” she hissed.

“You’re right. You may omit information but you never lie... I was worried.”

Kiki rolled her eyes. “I’m a big girl. I need to know what intel you have on Ladon movements. They attacked Adrianna...”

“They went after her too?” Zane interrupted.

“Her too. Was another woman attacked? Abducted?”

“You need to join the team. We’re on site. At the scene of the attack. We’re in the middle of a political tornado,” he said.

She wanted to help on scene but she didn’t want to discuss her relationship with Jordane. Not with Zane. Ever. “I’m just finishing up at Laura’s. I can get the intel from Adrianna’s attack while you process the scene there...”

“You don’t understand, Kiki. It wasn’t another abduction. It was a hit. Someone tried to assassinate Jenner.”

Kiki almost dropped the phone. Her heart skipped before tears welled in her eyes. She hadn’t realized how much she loved her hard ass instructor. Partner. Until she stood lacking the will to ask the inevitable question. “Is he...” she whispered.

“He’s in the ICU now. The doctors don’t know if he will make it. I’m sending an update to your phone. You won’t believe the shit storm this has caused... I’m sorry, Kiki. I know you and Jenner are close.”

“Why didn’t you tell Laura? They have ways...”

“I don’t recognize Moretti authority. I’m telling you. If they can help. Get them now.”

She snapped the phone closed as Laura and Jordane approached her.

Laura looked concerned. “Honey, are you okay?”

Kiki shook her head. “Go to the hospital and bring Chad. They attacked Jenner. He may not have much time.”

Laura took on a glazed look. “He’s dying.” She took off running as Valen stormed from the upstairs bedroom.

He descended the stairs as Chad rushed from the bathroom, buttoning a shirt. “I will cloud your form to get you in the operating room.” Chad nodded as a warrior opened the door to escort Laura, Valen and Chad from the mansion.

Kiki looked at Dante and Jess as they approached holding hands. “Aren’t you going to the hospital?”

Dante glanced at Jordane. “Valen may need the power of the king. He will alter the perception of many humans surrounding Jenner. It will be easier if I’m here.”

“The king’s power upgrade makes you unconscious so, yeah that makes sense,” Kiki said.

He raised an eyebrow. “A unique but accurate explanation.”

Jess rubbed Dante’s arm. To comfort him or herself wasn’t clear. “What’s happening at PIA headquarters? If Jenner...”

“Laura will never let that happen. She has Valen and Chad with her and Senator Baker is flying specialists from all over the world to ensure Jenner’s recovery,” Kiki said.

Jess huffed. “Jenner’s own father isn’t taking a hand in his own son’s survival.”

“Senator Davidson snapped. He told Senator Baker if Jenner dies, he’s pulling PIA funding from LA and it’s right to operate here. He is en route to the hospital now but there has already been a fire at the Ladon’s Lair casino. Several shady businesses, connected to Louis Lestant were raided and officers are at his hotel now, looking for him.”

Jess sucked in a breath. “Holy shit. I wasn’t even sure he liked Jenner.”

Kiki kept the fear from her voice. “Marcus has gone ape shit. No one should have known where
Jenner was. It was a covert meet. He’s mind probing everyone. If you don’t cooperate, he’s busting through your shields. Apparently, it hurts like fuck.”

Jess stiffened before Dante turned to her. “Samera... Marcus will not interview you or Kiki.”

  “Marcus has the right to...”

Jordane growled. “He cannot touch you. He does, he is dead.”

Jess pursed her lips. “Trust me, Kiki. Marcus will not... touch you. We are off limits to our director.”

“I will never understand demon politics, but if it keeps me off the psychic chopping block. I’ll take it as a win,” Kiki said.

“Was there anymore in the report you received?” Jess asked.

She nodded. “Someone made a huge mistake going after Jenner. Senator Baker has put the Seattle office on alert. They raided the Ladon’s Lair casino there and are hitting any businesses linked to Ladon enterprises.”

Jordane rubbed his chin. “I do not think this is Louis Lestant’s handiwork.”

“What?” Jess and Kiki said in unison.

“Why bring this kind of attention to his businesses. He has worked for centuries to grow an empire in the shadows. We have thrust him into the spotlight in the most negative way possible. Louis is vain. He would want his colleagues to be envious of him. This will cost him millions not to mention the faith he will lose with his inner circle of criminals. There was no upside to this. A woman he had in the past? Jenner dead? I doubt Jenner Davidson was on his radar.”

Kiki nodded. “Everything you said makes sense but who would want to bring this kind of heat down on Louis besides us?”

Jordane shook his head. “It has to be a demon. Using a Ladon means they have ties to Louis or at least someone in his flock.”

She rubbed her forehead. “Zane wants me on scene. How do I explain my gun?”

He took the weapon from its holster, powering it up. “You don’t. Your weapon will obey your commands. The power source simply lives in you rather than the gun casing.”

Kiki took the gun from his hands, feeling the power surge through her weapon. “I thought... this is great.”

“There is one change. No one except a warrior who’s merged with a crystal can power the weapon. The gun is ornamental.”
