His wolfish, unwholesome smile spread once again across his face as he plucked the little vial from the nook and put it carefully in his pocket.
It had taken four of them to contain him—four tiny vials of an immensely potent substance that did not originate on Earth.
It would only take one—if that—to contain Brathwaite’s pathetic human shell.
As he faded from view, leaving all four alcoves open, his last thought was of his descendant. Alastair Stone hated Brathwaite as much as he did.
Perhaps this would finally be the hook that would allow him to persuade the young one to his way of thinking.
But that was for later.
He had plenty of time.
