'Sudden Flash'
Feihren received the sudden attack from the stranger that suddenly appeared!
"Who are you? And what are you trying to do?" Feihren asked coldly.
A lustful sounding voice answered
"Me? Oh not that big of a deal, little boy. I just wanted the king to be dead, and as for who I am? I am Your Majesty of course."
The helm of the ominous green armor opened revealing the face of the culprit.
"Queen?"
Chapter 24: Boss Battle out of Nowhere
Without hesitation, the seemingly possessed queen changed her target. Disposing of this Feihren would make things a lot easier. As for King Samson, he's already in a pathetic state. Disposing of him a little later wouldn't be a problem, but the one who caused him to be in such a state is the man she was facing right now.
The queen was confident that the power of her Olegar family's treasure would be sufficient for her to achieve the goal she had aspired to since her youth. Her desire was to make the Olegar family into the royal family once more!
The struggle for political power had been bad in Ranustin for a long time now. Even though Angelique was indeed a 'queen', she was nothing more than a figurehead. She didn't actually have a say in anything that was happening within the kingdom.
Unbeknownst to Angelique, the family treasure she had was possessed by a demonic consciousness that allowed her to have incredible powers. Driven by her desires and ambition, the power within the necklace grew stronger in time. She was patiently waiting for the perfect opportunity, and it seems that it had arrived…
"Little boy, you seem to be someone who's actually powerful. How about you work for me and I'll make you the new "king" instead?"
"Uhm no thanks, I'm not into crazy ladies…"
"Crazy!?"
The lustrous silver and green armor the queen was wearing erupted with ominous power covered in a thick killing intent.
...
"Corrupted Angelique Olegar" (1-star King-class)
"Title: 'Queen' of Ranustin"
"Class: Dark Arts Sorceress"
"Base HP: 3,200"
"Base Damage: 400"
"Equipment: [Demonic Pendant] (Legendary)"
"Equipment: [Jade Dragon Armor] (Legendary)"
"Skills: 'Void Grip': Disables target for 2 seconds
'Shadowsphere': Channels for 3 seconds, unleashes 250% of base attack'"
"Special Skill: 'Death Fog': Causes the area in a 20-meter radius to be covered in a thick deadly mist. Causes 40 damage per second."
...
'A human-type boss out of nowhere?' Feihren thought to himself as he started inspecting the ominously powerful figure in front of him. This 'queen' is surprisingly already at King-class! Around level 600! It may be caused by the corruption of the demonic consciousness, but reaching this level without collapsing entirely because of the demonic control was indeed amazing!'
Her willpower was so strong that Feihren couldn't help but feel a hint of respect towards this seemingly crazy woman.
Aside from the crazily high level within this world's standard, everything about this woman right now was crazy. Her class was even one of the forbidden classes! This was the kind of class that was once used by that crazy man that almost plunged humanity on this world into extinction! Dark arts! Her health points weren't that high, but her base attack damage… it was too high even for a king class. It's almost as much as Feihren's base damage and he is already at Divine-class!
" …2 legendary equipment, one being the demonic essence… a combination of disabling and burst damage skills… and a DPS skill on top of that hmm…"
Feihren thoroughly assessed his enemy, as the enemy also seemed to be taking time to assess Feihren himself, after all, battles could be won even before starting if you find your enemies weakness…
"That energy flow… hmm, I think I got it."
*Swoosh! *Boom!
A surprise attack by Queen Angelique landed on Feihren!
"Base HP: 9,010 (-1,000)"
Feihren spat out a mouthful of blood from the sudden attack! It turns out that while the queen was staring at him, she was already charging her Shadowsphere!
"What a tough little boy you are!" Queen Angelique mockingly said as she started to charge another attack.
'3 seconds…'
'Equip'>>>'Main Weapons'>>>'Samuel's SC-76 Thunderbolt'
...
[Samuel's SC-76 Thunderbolt]
"Description: Precision meets Accuracy meets Perfect control"
"Base Damage: 1200 per round" "Bolt-action: 1 sec cooldown"
"Effective firing range: 600 Meters"
"Maximum firing range: 1,000 Meters
"Feed system: 10-round detachable box magazine (7.62×51mm)" "Inv. (+800 rounds)"
"Effect: Grants True Strike, locks fixed target within 2 km radius (30-minute cooldown) (Cannot be evaded)"
...
'2 seconds…'
'Activate: Nevermiss'
The queen's eyes keenly stared at the seemingly unmoving stance of Feihren as he was holding a pitch black, rod-like weapon in his hands. It was giving Angelique a bad feeling, so she canceled the channeling of her Shadowsphere and immediately activated Void Grip.
The ground below Feihren suddenly distorted into a black and purple sphere as arms started crawling out of it, attempting to reach Feihren!
'Sudden Flash'
*Pew!
Suddenly, Feihren disappeared! 'Too bad that skill could be dodged'. Feihren thought to himself as a smirk appeared on his face. 'Too late'. The queen attempted to avoid the upcoming attack, but it was too fast for normal human eyes to follow.
*Boom!
*Clank!
A thunderous sound was heard followed by a loud cracking of metal...
"Base HP: 3,200 (-4,250)"
The bullet directly landed on the necklace as it pierced the entirety of Queen Angelique's chest. A large bloody hole could be clearly seen as the silver and green armor shattered, leaving the bloody fallen queen on the floor…
"A bit overkill for my taste, I think… I forgot to add my base damage in the calculation. I expected it to do around three thousand damage, leaving her immobile, but alive…"
Regret was evident on Feihren's face as he was staring blankly at the queen's corpse. He was certainly not that bad at math. It really was just him being too forgetful nowadays. Since his mind has all the memories of the past 83 years of his life, it would make sense that he would become a bit forgetful sooner or later.
Feihren dismissed the thought that was kind of bothering him. It was no use crying over spilled milk anyway. He obtained a legendary-grade armor [Jade Dragon Armor], but for Feihren, it paled in comparison to the legendary armor he already has. However, it came from this world so he still kept it under the custom tab 'New World Items' together with the useless skill book [Kings Aura]. The armor disappeared into thin air and appeared in his inventory.
As for the [Demonic Essence], Feihren kept it for a while instead of immediately infusing it with the carbine. He had a premonition that this fragment is somewhat different from the other two he previously obtained. The dark sprite was wildly swirling around as it seemed to be enraged. It was also a bit bigger in size compared to the other two.
As for why is this, the Ancient Demon Lord explained that this was caused due to it being a 'larger' portion of his consciousness. Making it a more dominant fragment and thus could thoroughly possess someone, even with human intelligence. As for the other things he acquired...
"9,000 general exp!" Yup, Feihren's theory was right. The closer the enemy's level was to his, the higher the exp that would be granted. However, to be honest, it was just common sense by now.
...
A group of people rushed forth to the now abandoned arena as the news of the king being attacked by the corrupted queen reached the army corps. They hurriedly went to the arena to assist the king, but upon their arrival, all they saw was their stil
l unconscious king being assisted by the elders using healing magic, and a few generals looking dumbfounded as they all stared in a similar direction...
Chapter 25: I Only Need Ten
"Instead of staring at me all day, I'd rather you help your king over there." Feihren coldly said to the dumbfounded generals and the clueless people who just arrived that were doing 'nothing' but stand there in shock.
The soldiers who have just arrived had no clue why the arena was empty yet seemed like some kind of intense fight did occur. But as for the generals and elders, they had witnessed three unprecedented things in a matter of a few minutes.
First, the king was knocked out cold by this man named Feihren in one decisive blow. Next is how the queen suddenly went down to the arena and showed off an extreme amount of power. Unfortunately she revealed this power by attacking the already unconscious king all of a sudden, though Feihren seemingly defended the king with ease.
Lastly, Feihren released a powerful attack capable of killing a King-class person in one go. These three things are what left them dumbfounded and unable to remove their gazes from the man responsible for all of it.
"And yes I did that to your king, he's not dead though. It was all due to him asking for proof of my strength so he can be assured of your kingdom's victory. I do hope I could be of service." Feihren casually did a half bow as he walked out of the arena.
...
'Sigh, what was that all of a sudden? I was just planning to show off to the king a little and get the necklace in a somewhat legit manner. Now though, I just got it from a cold, dead corpse, tsk tsk'
Feihren sighed while strolling through the kingdom's streets randomly, looking for a place to stay for the night. It was way too awkward to stay and sleep at the castle…
Within an inn not far from the castle, Feihren had settled down for the night, reviewing everything that happened and the further plans down the road. First of all, the matter of this kingdoms "plight" was definitely something that doesn't really interest Feihren. Aside from the fact that there was a demonic essence in Wolfenstein, he had no reason to go along with conquering it. He doesn't really need anyone else to "help" him retrieve it as far as he was concerned.
He could technically back out now due to him not getting the "necklace" as it was destroyed during the battle after the sudden attack of the queen. However, Feihren decided to dismiss this thought, as he technically got what he really wanted in the first place. On top of the fact that shamelessly leaving after killing a queen and injuring the king was definitely something that would bother Feihren down the road. Even if it was both of those motherf*ckers that attacked him in the first place, it was still him dealing deadly blows.
After finally deciding to "help" this kingdom, the next concern was this powerful demonic essence he got from the queen. Infusing it without thought would just be reckless. Feihren saw how the demonic essence boosted the queen's powers, but in exchange, she was driven crazy by her inner desires even though she remained in control of her consciousness. The Ancient Demon Lord in Feihren's possession seemed to be a little timid if he thinks about it.
It is a little odd for a demon lord to actually listen to him, and explain to him important things that Feihren should know. But this demon lord's consciousness was only a tiny portion of its entirety. Who knows whether the Ancient Demon Lord would turn rogue when he gains enough power to break free from the carbine and wreak havoc again? Although he was in spirit form right now, the collective power of his consciousness possessing someone would actually be a threatening entity, as it would embody the past demon lord himself.
Feihren decided to find a way to strengthen the binding of whatever is trapping the demon lord within his weapon first. Or he could infuse the third fragment to a different weapon or equipment. Doing either of those things would need him to return to the dwarves' village so he could properly seek their assistance regarding all this.
The last thing he needed to consider was what to do with the 9,000 general exp he currently has. Well, this was already decided back when Feihren was experimenting with the effects of general exp
"Base HP: 9,100"
"Done…" Feihren did not hesitate in pouring all 9,000 of his general exp just to even out his HP bar. For him, it was way too awkward to look at the "10" on it. Being kind of OCD perhaps, but maybe it was natural to feel awkward about having a 2-digit addition to a 4-digit HP bar. With all these things settled, Feihren calmly rested and passed through the night without anything bothering him.
Feihren left early in the morning, paying the innkeeper with a palm-size ruby. He proceeded to walk to the direction of the kingdoms castle.
" …"
The innkeeper held a blank expression while holding the heavy gem with both his hands
...
Feihren went to castle expecting that the guards would have him wait outside when he sought an audience with the king regarding the matters of Wolfenstein. However, surprisingly enough, the guards hurriedly opened the doors for him saying,
"The king has been waiting for you."
'Waiting for me? It still 6 in the morning! If not for this being 'important' I'd still be sleeping my as* off. Shockingly enough, the hall was full of people already. Some familiar faces from yesterday greeted Feihren respectfully. The king was lively even though he suffered great injury yesterday.
'Having high regeneration due to being a barbarian class does come in handy' Feihren thought to himself as he forced a smile out towards these people.
"My condolence Your Highness, I had no other choice but to eliminate her."
Feihren's first business here was to "apologize" for the unprecedented event yesterday.
"It is I who needs to apologize, for a lot of things even. First is for doubting your strength. I deserved to be rendered to such state, and I thank you for helping me yesterday even though I was still technically your enemy within that arena. Second is for decisively dealing with my wife. Though it pains my heart, it was for the betterment of the kingdom…"
The king's face was stiff and sincere, but a hint of sadness was evident as his eyes started to tear up.
"And lastly, the necklace that you wished from my wife was destroyed from the battle yesterday, and for that I hope that you would accept other things for your assistance. Even though I do think that that necklace held something that was important for you, I hope that other things could compensate for it." King Samson added.
"It is fine." Feihren interjected
"I do hope that a share of 40% of all the spoils of war would satisfy as your compensation?" The king immediately replied.
'40%?!? The people within the hall gasped as they heard this. Wasn't this too much for a single person to own? What about the war expenses and the other soldiers?' The elders and generals within the meeting thought to themselves, but they soon dispersed such needless thoughts as they heard Feihren's next statement, which left them all in shock.
"40%? That's generous of you my king. Then, as for what I need to win this war, provide me a group of 10 people. I'll be leading them in seizing the Wolfenstein kingdom for you."
"An army of 40 thousand good men would arrive tomm… wait, what?! 10 men? Did I hear you right sir Feihren?"
"Yup, as to cut your expenses and all that, I'll only need 10 men. Is that fine with you?" Feihren decisively replied.
"This…" The entirety of the hall was now dead silent.
Chapter 26: Too Distasteful!
"I'll say it again if you want. I only need ten people with me. As for trying to occupy and capture the entirety of the Kingdom, you can have people follow suit only after I'm done with the place." Feihren clarified his "request" once again as the people in here seem to be having a hard time hearing him well.
A military officer who hadn't witnessed the events that unfolded yesterday angrily retorted, "Ten people? Who do you think you are? Arrogant bastard! You think that is funny? Do think we're some kind of circus people trying to occupy another circus? Da
mn it, we're talking about invading and conquering a kingdom here!"
"12 people then?" Feihren did not mind his outrage, and even jokingly replied.
*Piak!
A pathetic sound could be heard as the officer's fist was caught by Feihren. Feihren slightly tightened his grip as bones could be heard shattering. Then he casually tossed the officer at a wall with one hand. The officer was now completely silent, as he was already unconscious.
'5-star Intermediate-class… This world should really have some kind of easily accessible enemy assessment tool or something'.
Feihren sheepishly smiles as the commotion just now has calmed down. Then he asked the king again.
