Cheers erupt from our table. I look at Bambi whose eyes are wide, but she sucks it up and stands. She chugs the shot and downs her drink. She’s definitely tipsy. She removes her hoodie, and she has a black lace bustier tank. I stare at her and when she turns to move towards the stage, Bowie, who’s sitting right next to me, and I take a deep breath in at the same time. “Did you know she had that?” I ask him.

  “No, I didn’t,” He says.

Bambi’s whole back is covered in a colorful tattoo, sort of like her painting. It’s half a Phoenix with large wings with one golden eye and the other baby blue. The expanded wing on the right side turns into music notes. Right under there’s her X.O. with both of our names. I love this girl.

“But I chose the song because we both know she’s going to kill it.” Bowie adds.

“Yep! And she loves Foxy. She probably thinks we forgot.”

“She thinks you’re both dirtbags, doesn’t she?” Orion interjects.

Bowie flips him the bird and looks back at Bambi as the music starts.

Ainslee is already dancing to the music like it’s her favorite song. Ainslee loves music so any and everything works for her. She sings off key sort of to the beginning as Sisqo starts it off and the girls cheer for her, then when Foxy’s part starts, Bambi lifts her mic and starts timidly. She’s not even looking at the lyrics. She’s warming up as the chorus comes on again and Ainslee is dancing around Bambi. Then the second verse comes in and she shuts her eyes as she raps even more. Her body loosens up as she moves to the music. By the time the chorus comes back on and it’s Ainslee’s turn, the girls at the table are cheering her on.

She’s finally in her element as she runs her fingers in her hair and she’s dancing seductively while she raps along. She opens her eyes and performs like she once did with only Bowie and I in the room. I place my fingers in my mouth and whistle loudly. When she’s done, we all clap for their odd but combo that works. Ainslee does a curtsy and Bambi smiles proudly. The girls stand and demand an encore. Bambi runs over to our table, grabs another shot glass and downs it. “Okay! But after this, we have to do a song together,” she says to Ainslee, Karessa and her sisters.

“I need another round of drinks before that.” Imala, the youngest LeClaire answers. She looks at her husband, Wyn, who stands and goes over to order them more shots.

Bambi cheers and then runs back to the host, whispering the song in his ear. Jennifer Lopez's Dinero feat. Cardi B comes on and Bambi forgets all of us as she does her thing. She does the first verse and the chorus, and I smirk at her when the second verse comes and JLO reps where she’s from but Bambi reps Guantanamo, Cuba where her mother is from. She smiles and continues. Flowing smoothing between Spanish and English.

“I didn’t know she had it in her,” Orion says.

I laugh. “All you have to do is give Bambi some alcohol and you’ll see that deep down inside she’s a damned female rapper. Pretty sure, if she wasn’t so damned timid and shy, she could be the next Griselda Blanco.”

  Bowie whistles. “My black widow.”

  “Sounds racially charged,” Jagger teases.

“Bitch…” Bowie looks at Jagger and shakes his head laughing. “If I wasn’t so damned turned on by my girl rapping like she’d really shoot all of us in here, I’d kick your ass.”

“Afraid I’ll snap your little ass in half?” Jagger taunts.

Bowie rolls his eyes but the smile is still evident. “The only way any part of my body is going to break is if I break my dick in half inside of her pussy so fuck off.”

“Idiot,” Jagger says, but he can’t hide his smile. “Don’t be gone so long next time.”

“Are you two going to kiss and make-up or something?” Berke interjects.

“Jagger’s dick only gets hard for Oran.”

Oran snorts and tries not to laugh but the silent fucker knows he’s just as bad as his best friend.

We turn our attention back to Bambi as she’s on her last verse and she turns and shakes her ass like she’s lost her mind. Both Bowie and I stand. Bowie beats me to it as he walks over to the stage and picks her little ass up practically throwing her over his shoulder. Bambi cheers as if she has an audience. Bowie sets her on her feet, and he pulls her on his lap when he sits.

I grab her jaw and pull her face to mine. I kiss the fuck out of her, not caring about anyone there. Bambi kisses me back just as hard. I feel as Bambi is pulled away from me and I know it’s Bowie. He tells her to straddle him and when she does it. He buries his fingers in her curls that are free tonight and kisses her hard. The rest of the table who isn’t aware of our relationship is looking at me like I should do something. I smirk. “Guys, you’re all invited to our wedding,” I wink.

“Another one?” Esme says and I shrug.

“Guess so. We’re going to be known as the damn Island of people who do nothing but have weddings.”

“So like, you’re just going to keep having a conversation like those two are not making out right next to you?” Oran asks.

I see the same look in the ones that are finding out now and are just curious. I shrug again, “it’s a free country plus, the best part is… I can do this.”

I show as I slip my hand into Bambi’s hair and tug. Bowie stops kissing her and I take over. Bambi shudders but doesn’t object as I feel her nails from one of her hands digging deep into my pants.

We all pull away, not wanting things to get hot and heavy while in public. Imala tilts her head like she’s looking at a science experiment, “You’re so… what’s the word?” she asks a shocked but very curious Esme.

“In sync,” she completes Imala’s sentence.

“Yes! That’s it!” Karessa says. “So in-sync.”

Bowie chuckles. “We’ve been on and majorly OFF since high school and now, we’re back on for good.”

“So, the three of you?” Berke asks and I know what he’s asking.

“No, I don’t fuck Bowie and he doesn’t fuck me. We’re not into each other, we’re into her.”

Ainslee whistles. “Damn Bambi, two of them. Shit. Lucky girl.”

  Jagger snorts. “Really, pretty baby?”

Ainslee looks up at him and winks.

“Next up is Ainslee, Karessa, Esme, Imala and Bambi doing What’s your Fantasy remix!” The host announces, and everyone focuses on that.

Bambi leans over and kisses me quickly. Then she kisses Bowie, but he doesn’t let her up. “You’re going to have to explain that tattoo on your back.” He says.

She smiles. “I needed a reminder of you two besides this.” She lifts her skirt and shows us the mark I left on her. It’s faded but I can tell someone went over it, making it a tattoo with words circling around her thigh. Love and life without them is meaningless.

  “Fuck,” I say.

  “Fuck is right,” Bowie says.

Bambi stands and goes to join the girls. “I’m happy she’s making friends, finally,” Bowie says.

“Me too, Bow, me too. She deserves it all.”

  Bowie

I go outside to take a deep breath and when I go back inside, I’m halfway to the bathroom when I’m grabbed by my collar. I almost fight but I relax realizing it’s my cousin. I roll my eyes and remove his hands off the lapel of my leather jacket. He’s ruining this shit. I glare at him. “What the fuck!” I say.

“Dude! More like, what the fuck was that? Is this what I think it is?” He asks.

“What is what?” I tilt my head, fucking with his head.

Jagger glares at me. We resemble each other, yet we don’t. “Is this what happened in High school? Are they the reason you fucking left in the first place?”

  I nod sharply.

“Right…” He says. “So then what the fuck are you doing here? You looking to be fucked with again?”

Jagger cares way too much for his own good. He cared before what his parents thought; he cared about Ainslee, even if he didn't want to say it out loud and even with me. “You care too
fucking much, you know that?” I sneer. “Mind your fucking business.”

Jagger shakes his head. “Don’t give me attitude, motherfucker. I’m your family, I give a fuck. What are the tabloids going to say? You know, Mireya León is always looking for a reason to trash our names. Don’t give her material.”

“She can suck my fucking dick. I don’t care what she wants to add in her damned tabloids. I need space, Jag. Fuck!” I flip.

I don’t know why I’m even flipping out. I need to calm down. Jagger shrugs. “I could sucker punch you for yelling at me like I did something to you.” His way of saying he supports me.

This makes me laugh. “Fuck you,” I say again, except this time, there’s no bite in my voice.

“You need something to drink and I need you to explain to me what those two people mean to you that you’d sacrifice your career for them.”

“Our marriage isn’t illegal here,” I state before I move with him.

“Marriage? You’re married to them, too?”

I pick up on what Jagger is saying. “What? I’m not gay and neither is Markos. We’re not married to each other, just married to Bambi. We’ve been married to her for 14 years. She signed the papers like a fool, and I guarantee you, I didn’t care when Markos told me.”

“14 years?!” Jagger yells, getting the attention of the staff walking by. I roll my eyes at him, but he continues. “Wow. and you’ve been stepping out on her the entire time?” He says with a smirk.

I snicker. Shaking my head. “Don’t you have somewhere to be, motherfucker? Where’s Ains?”

  “You’re deflecting,” he says.

“I just need space and fuck, maybe a whole bottle,” I state.

I’m not sure what the fuck is up with me… Fuck.

“So, like…” Jagger says as we walk to the bar. “You and Markos, never…”

I glare at him, “I’m just as sexually active with Markos as you are with Oran,” I answer dryly.

Jagger whistles. “Ah, so every day?” he teases.

I snicker as Oran randomly comes over as if we have summoned him. Jagger slips his hand into Oran’s but Oran snatches his hand away. “What the fuck, Jag?”

Jagger playfully scoffs and rolls his eyes. “Don’t be shy now, you big fuck, he’s a bottom, and he enjoys it.”

Oran glares at him and tries not to laugh. “I hate you so much.”

I flag the bartender down as they go back and forth about who’d be a bottom or a top. “Your wives must suffer with this small dick syndrome y'all suffer from.”

Both Oran and Jagger laugh. “You are the one with the small dick, bitch.” Oran flips me the finger, “let’s go Jagger, we’re not needed here.”

Jagger laughs. “See, the man can’t even move without me. See…”

I roll my eyes, grab the drinks and head back to the table with them.

While everyone is getting seating in for the wedding, I spot my parents. My mother or the woman who didn’t birth me looks me up and down with disgust like I stole her husband from her. I roll my eyes and don’t even bother making eye contact with the guy who couldn’t nut in a fucking condom before he had me. I walk out of the wedding hall and make my way to where Bambi is getting ready. I walk in after knocking and Bambi is pacing back and forth.

“Bams…” I call her name out.

“Bowie…” she’s nervous, but she looks so beautiful. I’m tempted in marching out to stand right next to Phoenix so I could see her walking down the aisle to me but I just know I can’t do that.

“You look so beautiful, darling. Fucking gorgeous,” I say with a smile. Bambi stops pacing and stands right in front of me, her eyes so wide and innocent looking. She gazes at me like the younger version of her used to. Gazing at me as if I were the answer to all her prayers. She takes a deep breath and I take in how much the makeup enhances her beauty. She’s beautiful without it, but with it, she’s a damned goddess. “God, I love you. No one has ever looked so good in white.”

Bambi smiles, “I love you,” she wraps her arms around my neck as she stands on the tips of her toes even in her heels. “I wish I was walking up to marry the both of you today, but I understand.”

I lean in and kiss her lips, not caring if her lipstick gets smudged. I groan as I wrap my arms around her. I finally let her go and she exhales. “I love it when you have your eyes shut still after I kiss you as if you’re locking in the kiss for later,” I whisper.

Bambi smiles with her eyes still shut. “That’s because I do store it for later. You kiss me and my mood shifts. When you kiss me, Bow, it’s like my world is finally alright. Like everything that could go wrong won’t go wrong because you’re here.”

“I want to do something,” I say to her when I pull her away from my body. The door opens and shuts, Phoenix comes in. He has a smile on his face. I nod at him. “I know that you wanted to marry us both up there, but you respect my wishes. I just, I really love you for that Bambi and that’s why I’m going to marry you here, with just us because you deserve to feel like a bride. You deserve to be shown that you are loved. You mean the world to me,” I confess. I clear my throat, not trying to get emotional.

Bambi doesn’t have the same luxury as I can tell she’s already getting emotional. “But we need someone in here to officiate us.”

Phoenix opens the door and in walks Orion, or like others call him, Mikonos. He smiles at me and at Bambi, “Kinky. I like it here.” He shuts the door.

Bambi looks at him, “What are you doing in here, Orion?”

“I’m your officiator. Let’s make this shit even more official.” He winks at her.

Phoenix moves and stands behind Bambi and he pulls the veil over her all white-pant suit ensemble. She giggles as he passes her the bouquet, then he steps back, sitting down as if he’s our witness. “Now, I’m sure you guys want to say your own vows,” Mikonos says.

  “Yes,” both of us say.

Bambi takes my hands in hers, “I want to go first,” she takes a deep breath in and releases another one out. “Bowie, my Bowie Richard Hanlon. The boy who came into my life and changed everything,“ she looks at Phoenix, “thank you,” she clears her throat and tries not to tear up, but she fails. “Thank you for introducing me to the man that would forever change my life.” She looks at me again, “Thank you for being best friends and not making me choose between you two. Thank you for your unconditional love. For always being there for me. Yes, we didn’t see each other for 14 years but baby, that changes nothing. I had you and Phoenix with me in my mind and my soul, especially my heart. You changed my life and I couldn't see it any other way. I was a sad, lonely girl, one who had no one and felt like the world thought of her as some throwaway, but not you, not the man who understood me. You saw me for me. I love you for today, for tomorrow, for the past and God, I am going to love you so hard for the rest of my life, Bowie Richard Hanlon. I’ll wear your wedding ring with honor and your last name with pride because I am proud to be yours.”

I take a deep breath, trying not to cry myself. I’m not an over emotional dude but fuck, the memories and the pain of not feeling loved come back but not in a bad way instead it comes back to remind me something, to show me. To show me just how blessed I am. “Fuck it,” I say and I take the veil off because I want to touch her. I cup her face in my hands and wipe her tears. “Bambi, you’re the best thing that has ever happened to me. I know that I’ve never once said I’ve prayed, but baby, I’ve prayed for you even before I knew you. The first time, you looked at me I knew, but I was too chickenshit to admit it. Imagine an 18-year-old boy knowing who he was going to be with for the rest of his life? Fuck, it was scary. I had a terrible sense of family, love, and even marriage. Shit, I can’t even get myself up there to the altar because I feel like it’d be a lie but not this. Not like this, this isn’t a lie, this is the truth. This is us. In everything, when the world goes wrong, we are right. We, us three, we make sense and we will always make sense. My heart, my eyes, my body and
my soul chose you. It chose right and I would be a liar if I said that these 14 years didn’t kill me when I lived without you. You’re my moral compass and I’ll always use you to lead me back home. I’m crazy about you, my little lamb. Thank you for accepting to wear my name with pride and showing my ring off with sincerity. I can’t promise you that I’ll always be on my best foot, but I swear to God, I will never make you worry. I won’t leave, I won’t stray, and I won’t embarrass you. If you’ll have me, I want to make you the happiest woman alive. Please say yes?”

Bambi nods and the words don’t come out because she’s tearing up. “Yes.” She finally gets out.

I kiss her hard, not caring about anything else. “I now pronounce you husband and wife. Stop tongue fucking your wife in my face,” Mikonos says.

Both Bambi and I laugh in between the kissing. We pull away and I sigh, “I fucked up your makeup,” I say.

Phoenix snickers in the background. “Fuck it up some more. The ceremony starts in 30 minutes. I’ll be back to watch in 10 minutes, but Ry won’t. He’ll see Bambi in the wedding hall.”

Bambi snickers. Mikonos shakes his head and looks at Bambi, “When you’re done being with these two jealous fucks. Find me, I’m not jealous at all.” He winks.

I roll my eyes and giggle. “You’re married, Ry.”

He gives me a devilish smirk. “Am I, Bams, am I?” he doesn’t give me a chance to say anything as he chuckles walking out of the room.

Phoenix stands there to watch us two for a second. “I can’t wait until you become Mrs. Moralis-Hanlon in front of the world.” he grins. “I’ll be back in 10 minutes.” He comes closer and turns Bambi’s head, kissing her hard. He pulls away, “Fuck, I’m horny.”

I smile. “So am I.” I look at Bambi, I’m ready to devour my wife.

  Chapter 16

  Bambi

I shiver as Bowie stares at me with the most lustful expression I’ve ever seen on him.
