“I agree,” Kadrix said.
“I agree,” Quin said.
“And so it is done,” Elise said.
A cheer went up around the room. Kadrix brushed his lips over Quin’s who pulled him into a deep and passionate kiss. I felt blush creep across my cheeks. The warmth of Lysander’s happiness filled me and was echoed by my own. I’d never seen my dear twin so happy as he did in that moment.
Elise lifted her arms and said, “We must mark this union.”
The walls exploded with flowers of every conceivable colour and small orbs that shimmered with ever shifting colours appeared in my hands. I glanced around to see everyone with similar orbs. This bit I had been told about. These were the elven equivalent of confetti.
We threw the orbs up into the air where they exploded into a huge flock of butterflies. Every shape, size, and colour was represented. They fluttered around the happy couple before flying up to fill the air. A tear slid down my cheek as Quin grinned at me. I strode over to him and Kadrix, and kissed them both on the cheek.
“Congratulations,” I said, trying to hold back further tears.
I soon found myself pulled into a big group hug. Everyone I loved was there, and we were all so happy. In that moment, everything was right with the world.
