Badger Game

When they got to the lobby, Bette walked directly to the back where the bathrooms were located. At this point in the night, the lobby was nearly empty and nobody was in the bathrooms. They went in through the door of the women’s restroom, and Langston was happy to see that these were the kind that offered full privacy, with stalls that had tall, heavy wooden doors without a gap for anyone to look under. Bette paused for a moment, looking at Langston, and then walked to the stall that was furthest away and pushed open the door, slipping into it. Langston followed her in.

They didn’t touch until the door was closed behind them. Their hands were instantly all over each other. They started to kiss, deep and hard, and Bette ran her tongue along Langston’s lips before sucking on her tongue. Langston’s hands gripped her waist, then moved up into her hair. In return, Bette pressed Langston against the wall.

They finally pulled away to catch their breath, looking at each other in the dim light. “You seem awfully good at this,” said Langston jokingly. “How often do you do this exactly?”

“That’s not the point,” she said, unbuttoning the top of Langston’s shirt and running her fingers across her collarbone. “I just want to know if you want to keep going.”

A wave of goosebumps raced down Langston’s side. She wasn’t used to someone else taking the lead like this, and she was enjoying it. “Yes,” she murmured softly. Then, she added a little lie. “I’ve never done this before.”

Bette started to give Langston small licking kisses just behind Langston’s earlobe. “So you like it?” she whispered into her ear before bringing her lips just above Langston’s mouth.

“I do like it,” Langston gasped out in pleasure, panting a little against Bette’s mouth. It got humid in that bathroom stall, and Langston felt her whole body pulling sharply with pleasure. She had never been so turned on in her life.

“Good,” Bette responded. She drew her hand down towards Langston’s chest, squeezing her breast as she kissed her again. Langston had been with many women before, but this felt so different. It was as if Bette knew where each of Langston’s buttons of lust were, and her body was brimming with excitement with every movement. Bette was a woman who knew what she liked.

Her fingers came down to Langston’s outer thigh and trailed them upwards, French-tipped nails stopping at the button at the top of her pants. Langston nodded quickly, and Bette pulled at the zipper. She tucked her fingers under the hem, and pressed her hand against the top of her thigh, squeezing it with a moan. Langston’s hand quickly found Bette’s breast, and she pulled at it gently, mesmerized by the feeling of her soft mounds against her palm.

“How does this feel?” Bette murmured, as their lips pulled away again. She moved her hand to Langston’s inner thigh, running her forefinger against the folds of her mound through her underwear. Langston only moaned in response as Bette started to kiss her again, consumed with the incredible feeling of their warm tongues dancing together. Without breaking the kiss, Bette’s hands came to Langston’s shoulders and started to undo the buttons of her shirt, pulling them apart until she relieved Langston’s perky, round breasts. Her nipples were hard and Bette pulled away from the kiss to look down at Langston’s chest.

“Beautiful,” Bette moaned, and leaned over to take one of Langston’s nipples in her mouth, sucking and biting on it as she put her fingers around the top of Langston’s pants and started to pull them down. Langston was so consumed with the incredible feeling of a hot tongue against her nipples that she didn’t realize that Bette was pulling down the top of dress. When she looked down, Bette’s breasts, supple and round, spilled out of her dress. Langston reached down to grope them as Bette continued to suck, and Langston felt her pussy moisten beyond belief. When Bette finally came up for air, it was Langston’s turn. She knelt down and wrapped her lip around Bette’s hard nipple, eagerly sucking on it as if it was a piece of fruit.

Langston wanted a bit of control. She unfastened herself from Bette’s chest and put an arm around her, peppering her neck with kisses. “I want every inch of you,” she said with a moan. “Come here.” She leaned back against the seat, and pushed Bette’s body around slightly. Langston’s mind went wild as she felt Bette’s perfectly round ass grind against her crotch.

Langston kept an arm cupped around Bette’s waist, and pulled up Bette’s dress to rub her hand against the bare skin of her thigh. She reached down to where her thighs met, her fingers brushing lightly against the lips, feeling Bette’s damp mound through her underwear. The feeling of arousal grew inside of Langston and she groaned as she realized how aroused Bette was. She wanted nothing more than to have this woman feel her in every way possible.

She deftly pulled Bette’s dress all the way up and pushed aside her underwear, revealing her sweet, slick, perfect pussy that Langston could only imagine was glistening with moisture. Langston whistled low, appreciative.

“Damn,” she breathed, gently rubbing Bette’s lower lips with her forefinger and middle finger. Slowly, Langston slid a finger up between her folds, over her clit, then down again inside of her. Langston was surprised to feel just how hot and wet Bette was inside.

Bette began to pump her hips with each stroke of Langston’s fingers and her breasts bounced with the rhythm. Langston stroked the one finger in and out a few times, then added another one. Expertly, Langston placed her thumb in position, right on top of her aroused clit and rubbed it in slow small circles as she thrust her fingers into Bette. She could feel the tension building inside of Bette, and Langston knew she was close.

It was only a few moments later that she felt Bette’s body reach her peak. Bette turned her head to the side so that the two of them could have a deep kiss as her body trembled helplessly. Bette whimpered into Langston’s mouth as the shocks subsided. They stayed that way for a few seconds as Bette took in deep breaths. Then, Langston heard and felt something buzzing against her leg.

“Oh, shit,” said Bette, pushing her hand into the thin pocket of her dress. She pulled out a phone that was vibrating with a phone call. “It’s my friend. They’re probably looking for me.”

Langston felt a bit deflated that she wasn’t going to get any sort of reciprocation, but she nodded. “We should head back up,” she said.

Bette started to pull her clothing back up with one hand and used the other to quickly text her friend back. For the first time since she had arrived at the bar, Bette seemed a bit frazzled.

“Sure, of course,” said Langston. She was a bit flustered as well.

The women got themselves back together and left the bathroom after a quick double-check in the mirror. Langston had a smear of Bette’s red lipstick across the bottom of her chin, and Langston rubbed it off before they got back out to the hallway. Langston thought that the elevator ride up would be awkward, but Bette didn’t make it so.

“For someone who had never done that before,” she said with a small smirk. “You seem to know what you’re doing.”

“I just followed my instincts,” Langston said with a small shrug. “I seem to have done a good job.”

“You did,” said Bette. “I’m sorry I didn’t have a chance to return the favor.”

Langston smiled, remembering that this was all supposed to be part of an elaborate plan and that someone was paying her a lot of money to have sex with this woman. Now, she had her just where she wanted her. “You’ll have to pay me back,” she said.

Bette only responded with a coy smile as the elevator doors opened on the bar’s floor. Bette glided out of the doors, turning back into the smooth, effortless seductress that she had been on the way up. Langston followed slightly behind her, making sure that her friends didn’t look suspicious.

Her friends were drunk, and one of them was very drunk.

“Where were you?” the black stilettoed one asked Bette. She was holding up her friend whose head was dropping slightly and was holding on to her stomach.

  “She’s not feeling well?”

The one with the wedges shook
her head. “I think it was the oysters,” she said.

“All right,” said Bette. “Let’s get you home. Party’s over.”

“Hold on,” Langston said, panicking a bit as she saw the entire goal slipping away. “We should keep in touch. Maybe I can have your number.” Langston sounded like a silly little kid with a crush, but she couldn’t leave without getting her information.

Bette glanced at her friends who were looking at them with a curious gaze, but Langston pulled out her phone anyway, tapping through the lock screen and to the contacts page. She handed the phone to Bette who took it and added her information in and giving it back to Langston.

“Get home safe, ladies,” said Langston putting her phone away. Neither one of the girls responded to that, and they all hobbled away. Langston was left feeling a bit frustrated as she watched the women leaving. The point was to get a connection with Bette—one that was enough to get her to invite her back to her home, but it seemed that Bette had just used her for a fun time and was now done with her.

She went back to her seat where her coat lay undisturbed and a receipt was sitting on the table in front of her. She picked it up, seeing that it was hers, and realized that the waiters thought that she had run out on her tab.

She went up to the bar to make sure she settled her bill correctly and looked at her phone, her eyes scanning the number that Bette had entered. She was relieved that it was the same number that Griffin had given her. The plan was still on. In other situations, she would have waited a day before texting, but this was completely different than anything Langston had dealt with before. She had a deep, yearning desire to see Bette again.

After she paid her bill and called a car, she headed downstairs, flicking phone volume button up and down in nervousness. Finally, right after she got into the car, she texted Bette.

“This is Langston,” she said. “I had a good time tonight.” She cursed under her breath after she sent it. They hadn’t gone on a date. They had just fucked. But, to her surprise, the tiny symbol of someone sending a response popped right away. A few seconds later, Bette replied.

  “I did too,” she responded.

Langston bit her lip. “I want to see you again,” she typed.

“I want to as well,” said Bette.

“When can we?” Langston sounded desperate, but she didn’t care.

“Soon,” she said. “But I want to see you in a more private setting. Give me a few days to figure it out.”

Langston was thrilled, and she felt the adrenaline coursing through her. She had done it. She had Bette within her grasp.

“I think so too,” Langston replied. “Just let me know when.”

Bette only responded with a smiling face emoticon. Now Langston had to follow through with the rest of what she was paid for. She called Griff. He picked up after the third ring.

“Griff Simon,” he answered as if he hadn’t checked who was calling.

“It’s me,” said Langston. “I just met with her.”

“Oh good,” he said, his voice going down to a hush. He sounded like he was walking quickly. “So, you were at the bar? I just got home and she was here with some of her girlfriends. One of them is sick or something.”

“Yeah, I’ve met her,” she said.

“And there will be another—um—meeting, right?”

“That’s the plan,” she said. “At your house.”

“Wonderful, wonderful,” said Simon. “That’s great. When?”

“I’m not sure,” she said. “But as soon as she tells me, I’ll let you know.”

“OK, great,” he said. He sounded relieved. “I’ll try to make myself scarce in the following week so that we can get this over with. I’ll just make up meetings and stuff.” He chuckled a bit.

“That sounds good,” said Langston, pressing her head against the cool window of the car.

“This is all really great,” said Griff, sounding very exciting. “Thank you, I—I can’t tell you how happy I am about this. You’re a life saver, you know that?”

“No problem,” she said, her voice hollow. She was supposed to feel happy about closing this job, but she just felt nervous. “We’ll keep in touch.” She hung up the phone just as the car was pulling into her street.

  Five

The next morning, Langston woke up with something she hadn’t experienced in a while. A hangover. When she had come home last night, she felt the need to drink a mix of leftover vodka from a month ago and some seltzer water she had bought last week. Kira had still been awake and had been very confused about her friend’s actions. Now, Langston was feeling the repercussions and her head felt like someone was on the inside of her head pounding her skull with a hammer. She dragged into her bathroom, looking through the medicine cabinet for an Advil and some Pepto Bismol, the events of last night cycling through her mind. She took some medicine and then checked her phone. There was nothing from Bette.

With a sigh of frustration, she walked slowly to the living room where Kira had already cooked breakfast. “You don’t look so good,” she said when she caught sight of Langston stumbling onto the couch. “What happened last night?”

Langston groaned into the couch pillow. She wasn’t sure what to tell Kira. Typically, she would lay out all of the details of her exploits. She wasn’t sure about this one, though. She wanted to keep Bette a little secret that she kept in her pocket. Even though this was supposed to be a job she was getting paid for, and she was supposed to be extremely objective about the entire thing, she felt completely differently about Bette.

Then, Langston remembered something else she saw that night. She sat up, propping her head up on her hand. “What happened with you last night?”

Kira sat at the kitchen table with her food. “Nothing,” she said. “Why?”

“Because I saw someone downstairs,” said Langston. “That girl that you used to be in love with. Audrey, wasn’t it?”

Langston saw Kira’s cheeks immediately begin to redden. “I’m not in love with her,” said Kira, a little too quickly. Langston’s eyes narrowed. “We—uh—we met up,” she stammered.

Langston raised an eyebrow. “Met up?”

“Yeah, just for a little bit,” said Kira.

“Whose idea was that?” asked Langston, continuing to prod.

“My, aren’t you curious?” said Kira, trying to deflect. “You first. What happened last night with you? You went out on a job, didn’t you?”

  “Yep,” said Langston, simply.

“Well?” asked Kira. “You went dressed to fuck. Did you fuck?”

Langston didn’t say anything but the expression on her face was enough to tell Kira everything she had to know. “You did!” she said. “Tell me, tell me!” Kira got up from the table and went to the couch next to Langston, nudging her.

“There’s nothing really to tell,” said Langston. “I did what I was paid to do.”

“Well, yeah, but did you like it?”

“She’s a pretty woman, what’s not to like?” asked Langston.

“When are you supposed to see her again?” Kira asked.

Langston bit her lip. “I don’t know. She says she’s got to figure it out. So, it’s a waiting game.”

Kira didn’t say anything for a moment, and then gave Langston a knowing smile. “This is so cute,” she said.

  “Cute?”

“Yeah,” said Kira, getting up from the couch. “You like her. You want her to like you too, don’t you?”

“You’re ridiculous,” said Langston, turning her head to conceal the smile that was creeping over her mouth.

“Yeah, yeah, smitten kitten.” Kira walked through the living room, heading to her room. “I’m going to work today,” she said. “Back to the sugar.”

Langston lay on the couch for the next half hour, checking her phone every few minutes. She knew that Kira was right. She was smitten. Langston was struggling to push her personal feelings to the back of her head, but she started to see a bit of a br
ight side to all of this. Perhaps she could cultivate a relationship with Bette after Griff gives her the divorce papers. She started to fantasize about how she could be there for Bette during the divorce. She could be a shoulder to cry on in the beginning and that could become lovers from there.

Of course, that meant that she would have to lie to her, and although Langston didn’t mind lying to people she didn’t care about, the thought of lying to Bette put her stomach in knots.

Just then, her phone buzzed, pulling her out of her thoughts. She pulled the phone out of her sweatpants pocket, holding her breath. It was Bette. She tapped on the message and she felt her heart beating hard as she read the message.

“I didn’t forget about you,” it said. “Can we meet next week?”

  “Yes,” said Langston. “When?”

“I’m not sure about the date,” she said. “Husband keeps getting in the way. We could meet somewhere else.”

Langston knew that wasn’t going to be possible. In order for her plan to work, she would have to meet her at her home. Griff was supposed to come back into their home and catch her in the bedroom being unfaithful to him.

“I can wait,” Langston said. “It would be nice to be somewhere completely private.”

“I agree,” Bette responded. “Let’s wait, then.”

Just as Langston was ready to respond, Bette texted her again. “I’ll call you tonight with a couple of days that could work. Sorry that this is like making a doctor’s appointment.” She added a medical emoji to that last sentence, making Langston laugh. She agreed to a call. Hearing her voice would be wonderful.

When the night finally came and Langston’s hangover had dissipated, Langston went out onto the balcony to take Bette’s call. What started off as a quick conversation about the logistics of meeting up spread to Langston getting to know Bette. They spoke for a few hours, and, although Langston was eager to learn more and more about her. But, whenever Bette would ask Langston a question that couldn’t be answered without compromising her ulterior motive, Langston would nearly stutter over herself trying to steer the conversation back to Bette.
