Broken Rules (Love Storm series Book 2)

I thought of Alice and all that had been between us on those Christmas holidays.
I had spent the most beautiful and peaceful period of my life.
I had also gone to my friends and to my surprise they had welcomed me with a "We already know.” I had not had to explain anything, and I had appreciated that my union with Alice had not broken the balance of our friendship that had so far been based on fun and being eternally single, without ties.
Only when I talked about the ring did they all run away terrified. In the end I insisted that they accompany me to the jewelry shop only out of spite, since I had felt abandoned in my time of need.
I thought about the diamond. It was so simple, linear, with a diamond encased in the wedding ring.
It had won me over immediately. I knew it was perfect for Alice, who had never shown a real interest in jewelry in general.
I was double checking my Instagram post to see if Alice had a like, but I only found hundreds from my followers and my brother who congratulated me.
At one point, I heard the bedroom door snap open.
I hadn't closed it on purpose, and I wasn't surprised to see Alice come in with shining eyes and a smile so big that it filled her face.
She was so beautiful that my heart pounded.
"You put my photos online again without my permission," she tried to scold me, masking that palpable happiness that was impossible to hide.
"Those photos are of my girlfriend, so I can do it," I retorted, lying on the bed, and waving her over to me.
"So now you're engaged."
"Already."
"Are you sure?"
"My girlfriend is a big ballbreaker, but I think I'll hold on to her for a long time," I replied, as she took off her jacket and shoes and sat on top of me.
"Are you teasing me?" I teased her, noticing how she rocked on my pelvis, as she let her hands slide under my shirt.
"Yep. Now you are mine and I can do what I want with you,” she whispered mischievously, kissing me passionately.
I clasped my hands with hers and enjoyed the warmth that only she could give me.
"Would you like a ring too?" she asked, noting that I wore no engagement ring on my finger.
I didn't like the rings, and I just shrugged.
“ You’re enough for me,” I whispered, returning to kiss her, while I took off her clothes.
We hadn’t made love for nearly two days and couldn’t wait any longer after ten days of daily sex under the sheets at night.
When she took off my shirt, I already knew what would happen and I enjoyed her disappointment.
"Did you hurt yourself?" she was immediately worried, noticing the gauze on my chest.
"No, you can take it off," I said, noticing her worried gaze.
She took it gently and finally the worry was replaced by surprise.
"Did you get a new tattoo?" she asked, walking her fingers through the stars drawn on my chest. "Is it a constellation?"
"Yep."
“ I'm not an astrology expert. What constellation is it?"
“ It is not a real constellation. If you join the stars, you will find letters, " I explained.
I noticed her green eyes narrowing to focus and then widening them when she understood.
"You got the writing I made you with the marker!"
"Yes. When it went away after I washed, I realized I couldn't do without it anymore. "
"Oh God, Easton, I ... I ..."
"You love me?"
"Yes, to die for!" she shouted, before kissing me until we got lost in the sea of love that enveloped us with sweetness and warmth.
I love you too.

EASTON
"Only you would take me to bowling on Valentine's Day," Alice scolded me, turning off the car. After months of driving tests, Alice was finally starting to feel more relaxed, but she could only make short journeys that she already knew and only with me by her side.
"You'll have fun. The lanes here are better than the ones you went to in Seattle. "
"Impossible!"
"You'll see," I said, taking her hand and bringing her into the club.
I hadn't set foot there in months and it made me laugh when I thought back to the old days when I went with my friends when we were in high school. How many girls I had met in that place! How many strikes in bed or in the back seat of my car!
“ Choose the lane you want. I'm going to rent some shoes,” I exclaimed, happy to see Alice amazed by that place that was a thousand times bigger, beautiful and well-kept than the one she frequented.
I was about to go to the counter when I heard female voices shouting my name.
I turned and found myself in front of four girls attending my old high school. They were a year younger than me and still in high school but as they were dressed and made up, they could easily be mistaken for twenty-one year old.
"Easton, you remember us, don't you?" exclaimed the bleached blonde, putting her arms around my neck, while the others touched me and whispered in my ear what I had done with them just a year ago.
"Of course, I remember you," I replied with a tight smile.
I've been to bed with each of you! If Alice finds out ...
“ Would you like to join us? We haven't had a good time together for a long time,” the shortest of the group suggested.
"I'm sorry but I'm busy," I tried to shake them off, looking for Alice, but when I saw her, I was struck.
Alice was a couple of meters away from us and if her eyes could have killed, the whole place would have exploded by now.
"I really have to go." I tried to stop those octopuses, but when I looked again, Alice was already gone.
I looked for her everywhere and finally found her in the parking lot, sitting in front of the steering wheel, with the engine running.
"Where do you want to go?" I was frightened. Alice was not ready to drive alone and only had her learners permit.
"Away from you and your girlfriends."
"What are you saying? I don't even remember them. "
"So, you never slept with one of them?"
"Of course not!"
"You're lying to me," he glared at me.
"I do not know. It’s been a long time,” I prevaricated.
"Do not tell me. You've been with all four, haven't you? "
"Maybe, but please, it's old stuff," I bent to confess in the face of her murderous expression.
"Old stuff? Is that the same thing you will say about me in a while when you find another girl to have fun with? "
"Impossible," I asserted with conviction.
"You can't know."
"But yes. It's different with you."
"Why would it be different?"
"Because I love you," I replied with such serenity that I was shocked when I realized what I had just confessed.
I did it! I declared that I loved her without feeling the anxiety that assailed me every time I wanted to tell her!
"I love you too," she whispered happily and emotionally, starting to tremble slightly.
"Are you shaking because I said I love you for the first time or because you are starting to be afraid because of the engine running and the fact that you were going to drive alone?" I made fun of her. Actually, I knew the answer. Alice would never have had the courage to drive alone.
"I'm not shaking, but I do need a hug," she said, turning off the car and seeking comfort in my arms.
"Here, it's perfect now," she whispered. "Can you tell me again?"
"I love you," I repeated, feeling my heart at peace and happy as it had never been.
"I'd like to freeze time right now."
"And lose you every time I tell you again to love you?"
"You’re right."
"I promise you that I will make sure that we have infinite moments like this," I swore, placing my lips on hers.
A kiss was enough.
A kiss to change my life forever.
