“See you in hell”, Aaron had said with an evil grin then he shot himself.
After he shot himself Antonio and his team swarmed the bathroom. Antonio called for paramedics to the bathroom.
Chapter 10: “Biting The Bullet”
Soon after Antonio had called for paramedics, they had swarmed the bathroom. It was hard to stay awake I remember gaining consciousness and hearing the paramedic telling me that everything was going to be okay and that we were almost to the hospital.
I finally woke up to find my mom on the side of my bed. She had tears in her eyes
“Mom?”
“Taylor!”
Before I knew it my mom called the nurse to come check on me now that I was awake. While waiting I turned on the news even though my mom didn’t want me to watch the news.
“Three days ago a tragic incident occurred in our local school of J.W. High School. Aaron Fountaine, a seventeen year old senior at J.W., killed 13 students and 5 faculty members including the School Police Officer and he wounded 23 students and 6 faculty members after entering the halls of J.W. with two sawed off shotguns, two handheld guns, and several homemade grenades.”
I shut off the news just because I couldn’t handle to hear anymore. Soon afterward the nurse came in to check on me.
“Okay Mr. Taylor you will be okay except for the bullet wound and cracked skull, but you don’t have nothing to worry about and we stitched you right up. We will keep you overnight just to make sure that everything will be all right. Okay?”
“Thank you”, I told the nurse in a kid voice, “Can you tell me if Michael Bennett made it?”
“I can and I can also tell you that he is just as curious about you as you are about him”, she grabbed a wheel chair and wheeled it close to my bed, “Let’s get you in there before one of you guys have a heart attack.”
I couldn’t but to smile because finally after three days of being away from Michael I was excited to see him. She wheeled both me and my machine to Michael’s room. She opened the door and there sitting in a chair as beautiful as ever was Michael. He turned his head and smiled. She wheeled me close to him and I just about jumped out of my wheel chair just to give him a hug.
“Hey look”, Michael had said pointing to both his and my leg, “We have matching wounds kind of.”
I smiled at him and shook my head. Michael and I talked for hours on end.
“I asked them when I woke up yesterday if you were okay and they said you were still in a coma”, Michael had told me with a serious face
“Do you remember anything that happened”, I asked in curiosity.
“I remember a lot. I remember you pulling me out of the hallway into the bathroom. Oh and I remember you ripping my favorite shirt”, he giggled at what I had told him when I was about to rip his shirt.
“I promise I will buy you a new shirt.”
“I don’t need a new shirt. I have you alive and seemingly well.”
I smiled again hiding the pain. He leaned in and kissed me and then smirked.
“It feels so good to do that again”, Michael smirked at me once more.
After a while of talking the nurse came back in with another nurse.
“I bet you guys are hungry. Ready to go downstairs to eat”, the nurse asked both of us knowing we would say yes. She pulled our IV’s out and then grabbed my wheel chair. The other nurse grabbed Michael’s wheel chair and wheeled him beside me so we could talk. I grabbed Michaels hand and held onto it never wanting to let it go.
