He screamed as he clutched the side of his head. "You bitch!" erupted from his mouth as he turned his attention toward Bianka. My lovely bad-ass best friend was reaching across her body to pull the second blade from her encumbered hand. I quickly shifted toward her to include her body in my shield. A dozen bullets from his weapon peppered the far wall, missing her by just a few inches.

Bianka's blade came free, but it looked like she was putting all the strength that she had into remaining upright on her knees. She stabbed the new blade into the floor to use like a cane to maintain her balance.

Our enemy quickly realized what was going on and pulled a glowing green rock from the pocket above his left ass cheek. I needed to shoot him, but I must have lost my revolver when Mister Skull threw me into the dresser. I didn’t see it anywhere on the floor. My assault rifle was missing, too.

Should I go back for it? No, I needed to maintain the shield. Could I charge him while doing that? I had to.

I took a step forward and felt the pain in my crotch once again, nearly crippling me. The left testicle. Yeah, that one was not doing so good. As I took another step, I saw the glow of the rock grow into a sphere roughly two feet in diameter as he held it in his outstretched hand. Before I could reach him the emerald bubble of air propelled toward Bianka, right through my shield. My power had no effect on it.

Immediately, my well-formed feline friend began puking onto the floor. What kind of fucked up weapon was this? A glowing rock that made you throw up? Or did this man have a special power to get that stone to do it?

With an angry smile the man turned toward me, causing a new green sphere to grow around the rock. Doot! I heard the familiar sound from behind me. A red dot appeared in the center of man’s forehead. Then the crimson blood came running down his face in a single stream. It chose to descend down his left cheek because of his broken nose angled in the other direction.

The rock then fell to the floor, its eerie puke-inducing power dissipated. He dropped straight down onto his knees continuing to stare at me as blood began to cover his left eye. The firearm dropped from his hand as he hung there momentarily. Then his dead weight pulled him forward to cause his face to smack the floor. If he wasn’t already dead, that would have hurt like hell. Like a belly smacker on concrete.

Between all the blood and Bianka's puke, the place was a disgusting mess. A crimson trail had followed Bianka into the room from the bloody corpse that still clung relentlessly to her arm as if it was the man’s dying wish to hold on to her. He had thought that he was going to get some sweet pussy. From a vagina that had been eluding me. From the way that he grabbed her I was certain that he was prepared to force himself on her. I was glad that he died. She should have cut off his dick before she pierced his brain. Doing it now, after the fact, would not be near as rewarding. But if she wanted to still do it, I certainly wouldn’t stop her.

She wiped the vomitous drool from her precious lips with her free arm as she looked up at me. I saw embarrassment in her eyes. Was it because she was not able to kill the man with the green rock? Or because I saw her puking?

I turned to thank Stella. Her pistol hand was pointed toward the open front door expecting more enemies. Her other arm was pulled tight to her ribs as she scrunched forward with bad posture. She must have gotten hurt from the dive she took in the bedroom when she killed Mister Skull. The night was already full of heroic actions from every member of my team.

Alexa climbed back up to her hands and knees. She looked like she was going to be okay after all. Just stunned. It might take her a minute before she could use her sensing power again.

That is when I heard the engine of a truck, then screeching brakes. I popped my head out the front door to see an army transport vehicle pull up into the cul-de-sac. It was greeted by only two men standing in the street. We had maybe killed half of their force already. Unfortunately, reinforcements had just arrived.

A man jumped out of the driver's seat and another out of the back. I quickly closed the door before I could see any more. I needed to catch my breath. The whole action scene had lasted less than a minute. But another one could be coming very soon.

Alexa, Bianka and Stella were all injured in one way or another, but still able to fight in some capacity. I had to get my gun back. Between that and my deflective shield power, and the help of my friends, we would need to fight off whatever was waiting outside for us.

No one else had come out of the bedroom. When Stella saw me looking that way, she gave me a much-needed status update. I was worried about what might have happened when I left three women in there to come save Alexa.

"Jada and Riley are knocked out," Stella told me. "I guess Riley's is from overexerting her power."

  "What about Camilla?" I asked.

Bianka looked surprised at the mention of the Brazilian beauty's name. Alexa did not. I suddenly realized that she knew Camilla was the one sleeping in the bed. But she didn't tell us. Perhaps she hoped that we would kill the manipulative woman before she could wake up and use her ability on us. I could now see in her eyes that she regretted that decision.

With mixed emotions Stella looked at me and said, "Dead."

I figured that we were down to fifty percent capacity as a group. But at least none of us had died. That was better than what I expected way down in my gut as we launched this attack. Unfortunately, the battle was not quite over.

"They are staying outside the fence," Alexa informed me. "They are not sure about what happened in here. I get the feeling that they believed Mister Skull and the others guarding him were unbeatable. They are waiting to see who comes out the front door before they act."

An overwhelming sense of gratitude came over me. Every single one of my women had a huge impact on our success thus far in this scenario. I most certainly could not have done this on my own. In fact, we probably couldn't have pulled it off missing any one of them.

I rushed to Alexa and kissed her on the lips before constraining her slender body in a tight embrace. Stella came toward me to receive the same treatment, which I was happy to supply. There was an excessive exchange of "I love you."

Turning toward my best friend I found her still on her knees, a pile of vomit in front of her. A trail of blood behind. She was currently trying to saw through the dead man's wrist with her knife. It was an awful scene, but my feelings were very strong for the woman in the center of it. I was just as happy that she survived.

I went to her and dropped my knees onto the slick vile fluid to give her a hug. She quickly turned toward me and discarded the knife. She had only one free arm for hugging. Surprisingly, I received a kiss on the lips instead as she pulled me to her.

I hesitated in my shock, and she certainly felt it.

  "Oh, sorry," she muttered.

I instantly wished that I had reacted differently. I badly wanted her to be comfortable with kissing me. I may have just blown that option.

"I bet my breath smells terrible," she then said with an awkward smile. Her mouth then dropped to my neck to give me more attention with her perfect rosy lips. "I love you," she whispered.

When I didn't reply, she stopped. I just wasn't expecting this from her. Not only because of how our relationship had recently went through a tough spell. Or due to her being a lesbian. But also, because our battle was clearly not over. It was more like we were in the eye of the storm.

That analogy fit perfectly. This was a time to reassess our situation and show appreciation for what we had. She pulled back and looked into my eyes. She was so stunningly gorgeous, even in that moment of such nastiness all around her, the smell of vomit fresh in the air.

"I love you, too," I told her, making sure that my face reflected that statement. Then I gave her another kiss squarely on the mouth, ignoring her retched breath. And yeah, it was pretty bad. Like morning breath after eating leftover pizza from a box on the floor. With a warm beer and a shot of hot sauce.

"When you two lovebirds are done," Alexa's voice said. Unexp
ectedly, there was zero venom of jealousy in her statement. "They are sending two men in the front gate to investigate."

We were so not ready for that.

“And,” Alexa continued. “Someone is coming down the stairs. I don’t know how I didn’t sense her before.”

A very white leg appeared on the staircase with a stream of fresh blood rolling down the knee and calf. One of the bullets I redirected into the ceiling must have made it through the floorboards to strike her in the hip. She was holding one hand against the wound as she hobbled down the steps.

Naked, except for a pair of red panties, I recognized the body first. Then the face. She looked surprised to see us still alive. A glance toward the master bedroom had her realizing that we had already killed Mister Skull, her boss. I could tell from her expression that she was not expecting to be rescued.

My assumption earlier was correct. She did have something to do with us being put into a coma by the bald leader’s shockwave. And the alternate reality hallucinations that we had while we were unconscious.

Celeste was some sort of dream weaver.
