  “Hi. Yes. You look great.”

  “You too,” Blaise said softly.

  “So,” Taylor said as they walked over to the football field, “it would be really good if you guys could, you know, keep down the PDA so I’m not totally humiliated.”

  Blaise laughed, a light, happy sound, and wrapped her arm around Grady’s waist. “No promises there.”

  “Yeah,” Taylor said as she sent Blaise a smile, “that’s what I thought.”

  A pickup truck slowed down opposite them, and Margie called out the window, “Hey, Taylor, you want a ride? We’re picking up Tim on the way.”

  “Yes!” Taylor sprinted toward the truck, calling over her shoulder, “I’ll text you about later, Mom.”

  “Have fun,” Blaise said.

  “You too,” Taylor yelled as the pickup pulled away.

  Blaise leaned a little closer into Grady. “Everything okay?”

  “Everything’s perfect.”

  “It is,” Blaise said, hauling her close for another very public display of affection. “It is all that, and then some.”
