Mr. Quinn never did give up his unusual waistcoats, and Charlotte embroidered them without complaint. Their housekeeper, Mrs. Johnson, found herself exceedingly relieved that it was not herself that must sew eight mastiffs dancing a Scottish reel.
Over the years, it became apparent that the friendship between Georgiana and Freddie was more than a youthful infatuation. This came as a welcome surprise to everybody involved and Darcy readily gave his consent. Georgiana married Viscount Castlereagh on her eighteenth birthday.
And so, everybody in the environs of Hertfordshire during that fateful time when Lady Castlereagh’s jewels went missing found themselves where they belonged. For some, it was a happy fate and for others, only a deserved one.
