The Masters- RE- Revolver
Page 15
“Commander Revolver, what are you doing with the prisoner?” one of them questioned.
We looked at each other then back to them.
“Quin, it’s fine. The prisoner just needed to use the restroom,” Revolver told them with a smile.
“The Prisoner is supposed to stay here!” Quin responded.
He unsheathed his sword and other assassin followed.
Revolver then unsheathed his sword, “Go. I’ll keep them busy.”
I nodded and ran into the room and shut the door. I heard fighting through the door.
“Call for back up,” ordered one of the assassins.
“Crap, better hurry,” I said to myself.
I quickly grabbed a backpack and gathered some things like some extra red pills and spare regular clothes for both Revolver and me. I then pulled out my robes from before I joined the assassins and threw them in too. I put the backpack on my back and over my sword.
I then unsheathed my sword and exited the room. There was a female assassin in front of me, who was facing away from me towards Revolver. It was Pariz. Revolver was fighting off multiple assassins with ease. I blocked her attack as I flipped over her. I landed crouched down and sliced the back of her legs, and she fell to the floor. Revolver turned to see me.
“Finally. Water Blast!” Revolver exclaimed.
He quickly blasted Quin and the other assassin back. He turned to me, and we nodded to each other. We knew it was time to get out of here. We ran down the hallways. As we approached the door. Several assassins appeared from above and stood in our way, their swords at the ready to attack.
“I got them,” I told Revolver.
I put my hand up and yelled, “Slow!”
The assassins’ movements were slowed to a crawl.
“Good job,” Revolver said with a smirk.
We ran past them and ran out of the base. An hour later, we stopped and looked around for any followers. We didn’t see or sense anything. I did see the sun about to set.
I sighed, “I’m glad that is over.”
“Well, it’s not over yet,” Revolver replied.
“True. What is our next move?” I asked.
Revolver thought for a moment, “I’m not sure right now.”
I thought about it as well, and then I remembered what Icarus told me about going back to my earliest memory. My earliest memory brought me back to being Central City.
“Let’s go back to Central City,” I suggested and started to walk in that direction.
Revolver questioned, “Why there again?”
I stopped and looked at him, “To look for clues about my past. I believe it may help.”
Revolver processed the suggestion, “Alright fine, but only because I can’t think of something better.”
I smirked, and we took off for Central City once again.
Chapter 17 – Exploring the Past
We were both extremely short on Nero, so we walked to Central City this time. It was going to be a long walk and I wasn’t looking forward to it. Revolver ditched his assassin’s clothes again and changed into a hoodie and pants. He had told me that he was about to get paid before I showed up at the base.
“All this walking really sucks,” I complained.
My feet were starting to get sore.
“You know, I was told that Tana and her friends walked mostly everywhere during her Cast Pilgrimage. Same with Sabre,” Revolver told me.
He didn’t look like the walk was affecting him much. I wish I had his stamina for this sort of thing. We got close to the city, but it was late and getting dark. I suggested we camp out and Revolver agreed. We walked a few minutes away from the road and set up camp.
I was sitting there staring at the fire and the candidacy loomed in my head again. I looked at Revolver.
“Hey, Revolver. Do you think Amaia has a hidden agenda and that is why Sharik and the assassins are making sure she wins? Like she has a goal to enslave people or something?” I asked him.
He gave a weird look then answered, “Maybe not enslave people, but you may be right.”
We were quiet for a moment before I spoke, “Hopefully, we take down the H.N.A. I would love to play some video games after this is all over.”
Revolver nodded and chuckled, “You nerd.”
I chuckled, “I’m glad we aren’t fighting anymore.”
Revolver replied, “Same here, bro.”
I started to yawn, “Well, anyway, and I feel like I’m about to pass out. I’m off to sleep. Good night.”
“I do have a question for you Spex,” Revolver asked.
I looked at him curiously, “Oh? What is it?”
“Well, you already know about my parents, but do you remember your parents?” He asked.
I was quiet for a moment while I tried to remember.
I then answered, “I don’t remember my dad, and the only thing I can remember about my mom was that she passed away when I was only an infant. But I don’t know if that is right or not though.”
I laid down, wishing I had a blanket or pillow. My mind started to wonder and kept me from falling asleep. I turned my head to face Revolver who was still watching the fire.
“Revolver, I want us to be best friends no matter what,” I told him.
Revolver was looking at me for moment then smirked, “I want that as well. It’ll be lonely if you decided to go off somewhere without me.”
I smirked back then fell asleep. The next day, we woke up and realized that we had slept in. It was already around noon.
“I guess I was tired as well,” Revolver pointed out.
We both packed our things and continued on. An hour later, we entered the city. We started cautiously roaming around, making sure there weren’t any assassins.
“What is it that we are looking for again?” Revolver asked.
“Anything that would jog my memory,” I replied.
It seemed like Revolver was slightly annoyed.
I then suggested, “Did you want to find something to do while I look around?”
“Yeah, I’m getting hungry, so I’m going to get some grub. Contact me when you find something and be careful,” Revolver said and walked off.
“You too,” I said back.
I put my hood up out of concern of being spotted. I continued to roam around the city. After some time, there was an apartment building that seemed familiar. I entered the building and walked over to the elevator. I vaguely remember pressing the top floor button a lot. The elevator doors opened, and I took it up. After exiting the elevator, I tried to see if I could remember anything. It was to no avail, so I decided to let my feelings take over.
It led me down the hall, around the corner, and down another hallway. At the end of the hall there was a door that looked familiar. There was an eviction notice on the door. I turned the handle to see if it was unlocked. Sure enough, it opened, and I entered the apartment. It was small, but it looked like cozy living. The apartment was empty, but a memory flashed in my head.
I saw my younger self sitting down on a couch playing video games with someone. I looked like I just started living on my own. I vaguely remembered the person’s name, which was Vexus. I started to remember that Vexus somehow always beat me at video games, no matter what game we played.
I snapped back and decided to leave before someone found me in here. I exited and closed the door. After going back down to the first floor, I exited the apartment and made my way down the street. As I walked, something caught my attention. It was a coffee shop called Chronos Coffee. I stopped and examined it. It was very familiar as well, so I went in. I looked around and a memory flashed in front of me. I was working behind the counter taking orders as Vexus made the coffee. We were both wearing our work uniforms. There was a girl wearing the same uniform as us. I believe her name was Fayth. She was cleaning the tables. Another girl came running up to Fayth. To my surprise, she looked a lot like Yutsu.
“Fayth!” She said, cheerfully and gave her hug.
She was very energetic.
Fayth hugged her back, “Hey Rieko. You’re back. How are you?”
Rieko let her go and replied, “I’m great. I’m really happy to see you,” She looked at Vexus and my younger self, “I’m happy to see you two as well.”
“How was your trip to go see your family in the Thunderlands?” Vexus asked her.
Reiko, still smiling, responded, “It was great, as always!”
I shook my head and realized people were giving me weird looks. I got in line and waited for about five minutes before being able to order some coffee. I didn’t recognize anyone there. While I waited, I was trying to think of the girl I saw run up and hug the other girl, and I can’t remember who they were. I was getting tired of only vaguely remembering the visions and dreams I get right after having them. I started to get a strange feeling when I started to think about the girl who was cleaning. I got up to counter, ordered myself a caramel flavored coffee, and sat down to enjoy it.
‘I must have worked here, and those other people must have been my friends. Was that before I lost my memory, since I only recently discovered my time powers? But I remember training my time powers, so maybe I had powers before as well?’ I wondered to myself, very confused.
I finished my coffee and continued walking about the city. After some time, I stopped and turned to look behind me. I was trying to figure out where I was. I turned back around to continue walking forward. As soon as I did that, I bumped into someone. It was lady and she had fallen backwards.
“Oh, I’m so sorry!” I said in a panicked tone.
I was quick to help her up. I noticed she looked middle-aged and had red hair.
She nodded, “No, it’s alright. It happens.”
“Yeah, I guess,” I indifferently agreed.
“No, it does actually. Funny enough, this was about the same spot where re-met my husband. So many years have passed since then,” she explained.
I got curious and asked, “What happened?”
The lady looked around and answered, “One day, before a big event happened that you probably wouldn’t know about or understand, I was walking down this sidewalk. Back then, this building was being built. They lost control of a crane machine, and the steel beam that they were lifting almost fell on top of me. But it was my husband that rescued me. If he hadn’t been nearby, I wouldn’t be here today.”
“Where is your husband now?” I wondered.
She looked away and smirked, “He’s out on a secret mission of his. We don’t live here but I wanted to explore this city while I wait for his return. I did live in a town just outside of the city with our son when we split up for a while. Our son is also far away on a mission as well. I miss them both.”
It was starting to sound familiar, like I knew the story.
“Ah, okay,” I replied.
She looked back at me and tried to look at my face. I turned away to hide it.
“Why so secretive?” she asked me.
I answered, “No reason.”
“I don’t know why but something seems very familiar about you,” she said, trying to study me.
I thought about it and started to get the same feeling.
She gave a little chuckle and started to walk past me, “Well, I need to get going. I have someone waiting for me back home. I Don’t want to get keep her waiting.”
“Oh, alright. Sorry again,” I apologized and waved at her.
Without stopping she turned her head with a smile and replied, “It’s okay!”
I smirked and then got curious. wondered who she meant by “her”. I continued walking in the direction I was heading before. A few minutes later, my head started to hurt badly. I grabbed my head and fell into an alley way. Suddenly, everything was different. I was back in the same building The Resurrect were using. I was standing next to Tana, Kaido, Vlayru. We were facing a man with long black hair, and a black trench coat. He was wielding a giant black sword and was standing next to the NULL Machine from earlier. On the other side was Sabre, Vlakyre, Regan, and Icarus. This must have been another memory.
‘What is going on?’ I wondered.
“Well, look who it is. If it isn’t the new cast, Tana,” the man spoke with a grin.
Tana replied through her teeth, “Master Nether. I thought you were destroyed.”
“You can’t really kill a shadow being, sweetie,” Sabre said from the other side.
“Your dad is right. I can’t be killed,” Nether confirmed, still smiling big.
Master Nether then put his hand on the NULL and energy started to be absorbed into his body. He didn’t look tired at all.
“So, your plan is to take over The Resurrect? How original,” Vlaykre thought.
Nether then said, “Oh no, I wasn’t planning on that. Why would I do the same thing twice in a row? No, I just needed them to build to the NULL, so I can put this energy absorption device inside. Once activated, it absorbs energy from a certain radius and converts it to dark energy. Since the NULL has an amplifier in it, it is the perfect solution to drain your energy no matter where you are. Not only are you cut off from your powers, but you are also being drained of them as well. I told The Resurrect that I liked their plan and wanted help. Their plan would help my plan, which is to destroy you once and for all.”
“I’ve heard enough!” Tana yelled.
She lunged at Nether quickly, readying an attack, but it failed. Nether was quick to grab her sword and broke it with his bare hands. It was then followed up with a swift punch to the stomach. Before she could fall to the ground, Nether grabbed her by the neck, whipped her around and threw her towards the forest. Sabre was quick to jump in the way and catch her before she hit a tree behind them. They fell to ground, both laying up against the tree. We were all shocked.
“Did he just break an unbreakable sword?” Vlaykre asked with a worried look.
Regan responded, “Never mind that, Vlaykre. Let’s stop him.”
Regan then created a hammer and ran to fight followed by Icarus who had sand at the ready. Vlaykre shook his head and reached up with both hands over his shoulder.
“Right,” he said in a determined tone.
His two swords appeared in his hands then followed Regan and Icarus.
“We better join in too,” Kaido suggested.
“Agreed!” Vlayru responded.
I looked over at Kaido and saw that he looked extremely angry. It must have been from Nether taking Tana down so easy. The readied their weapons, and I readied my short sword. We all ran towards Nether at the same time. Nether turned towards Regan, as he swung his giant black sword, and broke Regan’s hammer. The force of the swing also knocked him back. Icarus jumped up high and moved some of the sand under one of his feet. As that happened, Icarus stuck his leg out to do a kick to Nether’s face. Vlaykre ran in from another angle readying to attack with his swords. Nether leaned back and grabbed Icarus feet and blocked Vlaykre’s attack with his sword. Nether very quickly pulled Icarus, knocking him into Vlaykre and throwing Icarus into the ground. Vlaykre flew backwards. Kaido transformed into his Fog Form.
“Blinding Fog,” he announced, blinding Nether.
I knew what to do. I jumped up and found my opening, which was behind Nether. I did a spinning strike to deal more damage to his back. But I was blocked by Nether’s sword. The force of the clash sent me flying backwards. As I flew back, I saw Nether do a spinning attack that blocked Vlayru’s attack and forced Kaido back to normal, and Nether then hopped into the air and came down with a downward strike. Kaido was able to block but the impact of the attack crushed him into the ground. At the same time, He put his hand out towards Vlayru
“Nether Blast!” he exclaimed.
A black aura beam blasted out of his hand and hit Vlayru which knocked him through a wall. I then hit the ground hard face down right after.
Everyone was taken down so easily. Nether gave a loud, evil laugh. I had a hard time getting up, not only because of how hurt I was,
but also because I was afraid of how powerful Nether was. I then felt a hand on my shoulder. I cautiously looked behind me to see Sabre standing there, looking serious.
“Spex, I’m going to do something, but I need you to use your powers and pull everyone behind me. Also, I need you to keep Nether still however you want to do that. Understood?” he ordered.
