“Wait, Cosmic Masters? Another planet?” I questioned out of confusion.
“You’ll know soon enough,” The Creator
I started to have so many questions.
I then asked another question, “…And if I return to present-?”
“You should know that you’ll be fine when you return to your present time. Now prepare yourself,” The Creator said to me.
Everything turned white again for moment before turning back to normal. I looked around, and I was back on the cliff. The sun was starting to set in the sky. I couldn’t fine Sharik anywhere. Revolver then popped in my head.
“Revolver!” I exclaimed.
I hopped up and raced back down the cliff. It took a few minutes to get to bottom of the cliff face. I finally found him lying on the ground. There was a lot of blood that he was laying in. I started to get upset. I kneeled next to him, holding his head up.
“Revolver,” I said sadly.
He slowly opened his eyes.
He tried to speak “Spex. I don’t have a lot of time so listen-”
“No, don’t talk like that, you’re going to be okay,” I Interrupted him.
I was fighting not to get upset.
He coughed and replied, “Spex, listen please. I know you can save me. Please, don’t do it.”
My eyes widened, “Why? Come on, Revolver, Sharik got away, and we need to stop him together.”
He shook his eyes, “Listen. I’ve done a lot of bad in the world. I need to pay for my sins. Let me die please. I need this.”
I shook my head, “No. I lost my dad. I can’t lose you too.”
“It’s alright, Spex. Just let go.” He said softly with a smile.
Revolver’s eyes closed, and his body was lifeless.
“No, Revolver,” the voice of Claymore said.
I looked up and saw them standing nearby.
“No!” Lilith yelled out.
Tears were streaming down their faces. I felt tears down my face too. Memories of Revolver and I were running in my head. I put him down and walked over to the girls and we hugged each other while, mourning.
Blaze met up with us later. I explained what happened with Revolver to him. Blaze and I brought him up to the top of cliff and started to bury him under rocks. We stuck a piece of wood near the grave as a tombstone. I etched “R.I.P. Revolver” on it. It was dark outside by the time we finished. There was a crescent moon in the sky. It was kind of fitting. We were there for some time. I explained to them what happened with Sharik.
Chapter 25 – Hope in the Darkness
The following week, I stayed in hiding with Lilith. I could have gone home, but I wanted to make sure everything was okay. Claymore went back home, and we stayed close by in case Sharik had someone go after her and her family. It was really depressing for everyone. I was also wondering where Remnant took off to. I was also worried about Yutsu. She disappeared during the battle and I have yet to find her. I knew where Yazrix was, but I wasn’t ready to face him yet. The election had taken place, and the results were being announced in Central City. Lilith and I decided to attend. We were in Claymore’s living room, speaking with Claymore and Aldus.
“So, you’re going to the election announcement?” Aldus asked us.
“Yes,” I answered.
“We want to be there in case something happens. Usually, something always does,” I explained.
Claymore agreed, “You’re not wrong.”
“Just be careful. Don’t do anything crazy. It’s just you two out there,” Aldus warned us.
Lilith and I nodded.
I replied, “We will be careful,”
Skyla came running into the room, crying, “Mommy! Macen threw something at me really hard!”
Aldus examined her, “That boy. Are you okay, Skyla?”
She didn’t respond, and Aldus embraced her to try and make her feel better.
“I’ll talk to him, dear,” Claymore suggested.
“Do you guys need help?” Lilith asked.
Claymore turned and smirked, “No, it’s alright. You guys take off. We’ll be fine.”
“Okay then. Call us if you need anything,” Lilith told them.
I shook Aldus’s hand, and his grip reminded me of when we first met and how cautious he was with me. Now he is smiling and is relaxed around me. And now with Lilith working with me, it was nice to have a group of trusted friends again. I then gave Claymore a hug.
Lilith and I took off. As we were walking, I started to think about Macen. Something was telling me we would need to keep an eye on him. We stopped behind separate trees and changed into normal clothes to make ourselves inconspicuous. We then took off on foot to Waterfall City and straight onto a transport bus to Central City.
The next day, we arrived at the city. we put our hoods up from our hoodies as we got off the bus. There was a woman at the bus stop station, who was dressed nicely in business casual clothes, passing out flyers.
“Be sure to watch the election announcement!” she said with a big smile.
I took the flyer which was about the event and where it was being held. We nodded at each other and decided to walk there. A half an hour later we arrived, and it was pretty crowed with people. They had blocked off streets just for the event. There was a stage setup by a four-way intersection. After a few minutes of being there, it started. The leaders all appeared up on the stage. The president of the Central Union, Tarik, was standing in front of the other leaders speaking with a microphone.
“This is a historical day in history,” He said, “Not just for the nations but for the whole world. We hope that this will not only help make the nations better, but also set an example for other countries around the world. Without further a-do, let me introduce your new Sovereign- “
The world seemed to stop for a moment without me using my powers.
The president continued with a big smile, “-Amaia!”
My heart sank, and I looked at Lilith with a worried look. She gave the same look back. We turned back to see Amaia making her way onto the stage from off to the side. She walked over to the middle of the stage, shook the president’s hand, and he took a seat with the others.
Amaia took the microphone, “Thank you all for voting for me. I know you have all been worried with all the bad things that have happened over the past few months, but I can assure you, I will make sure nothing but good happens.”
She paused for a moment.
I thought, ‘Yeah, let’s hear how you plan to “keep the peace.”’
She continued, “My first action as Sovereign is to actually pass over all power to someone, who I feel, would be a better sovereign then myself. I will then be stepping down as Sovereign.”
I was shocked and thought, ‘What was she doing?’
“This man is the reason why I am standing before you today. He gave me the courage to not back down when it seemed like I was a target. I would now like to bring Sharik to the stage,” she stated, putting her hand out to the side of the stage.
My heart dropped as I watched Sharik slowly make his way to the stage. He had a cane and was bent over while walking. This wasn’t good at all.
“Good day everyone. I did prefer the name Sharik, but my real name is Hyren. I would like to thank everyone for voting for Amaia. If you trust in her to lead, then you can trust in me. I want nothing but the best for the nations. I will be announcing all the changes in the coming days. I will say here on stage today that the nations will be renamed the Kroven Empire, after my grandfather Emperor Kroven. I plan to do what he could not do back then, which is to be the best leader of this new Empire!”
A large group of people wearing red and black armor came onto the stage and lined up behind him. I recognized them as the H.N.A. I couldn’t believe I forgot about Hyren. I vaguely remember him from the past timeline causing mayhem just as he did now.
Hyren continued, “These will be a new elite guard that will protect the nation from any danger, and they will be a n
ew branch of military called the Element Guard. The Trinity School for Elementals will be expanded on and will be the means of training to be on this guard, to protect our new Great Empire. More details on that will be put out there soon with the rest of the changes being made to the nations. These are good changes. Made for you, the people.”
The crowd clapped and cheered, all except us. Lilith looked angry. She was about to make a move, but I grabbed her arm to stop her.
“Come on,” I told her.
She gave a huff, and we made our way out of the crowd into a hidden area in an alley.
Lilith stomped her feet and spoke angerly, “Great. Sharik, or I guess Hyren; whatever his name is, is now the leader. I was hoping that Amaia wasn’t going to be voted for. That maybe the people saw someone else as the better candidate.”
“At this point, we need to focus and plan on how to come back from this,” I said, calmly.
She gave me an irritated look, “How can you be so calm about this?”
“I had feeling this was how it was going to go. As soon as Hyren got away. Plus, this happened before with Hyren. Only he wasn’t as discreet about it,” I answered.
She looked at me for a moment, “Wait, you’ve witnessed this before?”
“There are some things that you just can’t avoid happening. Like Revolver dying, which also has happened before,” I told her.
She kicked a crate then sat on it, “So how do we go about taking Hyren out?”
“Patience and time. We need a new cast to appear. Dark Vanquisher may be returning again, and we need him to gather the Master Orbs. Although with the peace we had, I don’t think one was created before The Creator disappeared to recharge his powers. So, he can’t create another one right now either,” I explained to her.
“Do you think one will show?” she wondered in a low tone.
I thought for a moment then answered, “I hope so. In the meantime, stay out of trouble and lay low. Like Aldus said, it’s just the two of us.”
She questioned, “I can try to gather more people willing fight against the Kroven Empire. People who see Hyren for who he really is.”
“That’s a good idea. You should start by getting Yustu,” I commented.
Lilith thought for a moment, then got a look on face like a light bulb went off in head.
“Oh yeah, I remember her now. You think she will help?” She asked.
I nodded, “I know she will. She wore yellow, meaning that she is from the Thunderlands. That would be a good place to start looking for her.”
Lilith then questioned, “What are you going to do?”
I opened a purple portal in front of me and replied, “My job.”
I then walked into the portal and ended up in my house. The portal disappeared behind me. This was the first time I had been back since I was stuck in time. I turned the lights on then walked up to my Hologram computer and turned it on. I checked the current date of the timeline and saw that it was eight years later from when I left Lilith. I looked around and noticed that everything was dusty. There was then a white portal that opened near where my portal was. Out walked my mother, behind her was a girl I didn’t recognize. She was wearing a robe and had dark red, curled hair.
“Spex! Thank the Creator!” My mother exclaimed in relief, smiling.
She rushed over and hugged me, “I’m so glad you’re alright.”
“I’m glad to see you too, Mom. Who is this?” I asked, looking at the girl.
My mom let go of me. The girl and my mom looked at me confused.
“You know who this is,” My mom said with a chuckle.
The girl spoke, “I know I’m fourteen now and older from the last time you saw me, but it’s me Spex, your sister? Exsa?”
I was baffled. Suddenly the memories of having a sister started to pop in my head.
“Sister? I only now remember having a sister,” I said, confused.
“You’re scaring me, Spex. What happened to you?” My mom questioned.
She looked worried, same as Exsa. This must have happened from a change in the timeline.
I thought to myself, ‘I need to stop Remnant.’
“A lot happened, actually. I’ll explain everything,” I answered.
Just then, another portal opened. It was a light green colored portal. Three people walked through followed be the portal closing behind them. It was Vexus, Fayth, and Reiko. Vexus was wearing a hooded cloak with dark pale green combat gear. Fayth was wearing dark blue combat gear with a hooded cloak and long skirt. Reiko’s combat gear was wearing bright orange and black Combat gear that consisted of a short skirt, knee high black boots and socks, a loose robe top with a hoodie with an under-tank top. Her hair was up in pig tails. They didn’t look much older than when we worked in the coffee shop.
“Spex, welcome back my friend,” Vexus greeted.
Fayth walked up to me and kissed me surprisingly. I’ve always kind of had a thing for Fayth but for her to kiss me was out of nowhere, but I went with it.
“I’m so glad you’re safe,” she said with a smile.
“Same here Spex, we were looking all over for you!” Reiko said with an excited tone.
“Yeah, same here…” I said with confusion.
They looked at me confused, along with my mother and Exsa.
“Spex, are you okay, Hun?” Fayth asked me.
I answered, “I’ve been better, but how did you get here, and shouldn’t you be old looking or something?”
Vexus chuckled answered, “Come on, Spex. you know you we all stopped aging when we became Cosmic Masters.”
I was surprised and questioned, “Cosmic Masters? Is this what The Creator was telling me?”
“Yeah, remember I’m Master Void and Fayth is Master Aether. And Reiko is Master Solar. There is also your dad, but you should already know this,” Vexus explained.
I then remembered when they told me about their powers back after I helped stop the Resurrect. I was trying to process all of this.
I then responded, “I remember now but, what else has happened that I don’t know about yet.”
Epilogue
A boy is seen walking the streets of Central City. He doesn’t know who he is, nor where he was. It was dark and raining. He had his arms crossed while looking around. He found an alley and walked down it. There was cardboard setup like a little home. He decided to take shelter in it from the rain. He looked around trying to figure things out.
He started to think about what happened when he woke up earlier. He was in some sort of tube surround with blue liquid. A scientist had then walked over smiling.
The scientist spoke, “Ah, your awake. Good. Let me check your vitals.”
The scientist stepped closer to the console near the tank he was in and started to press buttons. He looked around to see what was in the large room and saw that there were other tanks though it was hard to make out what was in them since there was a glare. The scientist then looked at him, happy.
The scientist then said, “Your vitals are good. Vlaykre I’ve done it. This is first successful clone of - “
There was a load bang from another part of the room that interrupted the scientist.
“Dr. Wolfeman! You’re under arrest for illegal experimentation,” a voice yelled.
He leaned to see men in red and black uniforms, holding rifles, approaching Dr. Wolfeman.
“Damn. You will not arrest me!” Wolfeman exclaimed.
He pulled out a pistol from under his lab coat and began to shoot at the men. They fired back at him. One of the shots broke the tank that he was in, and he was washed out of it. The shooting made him scramble to get up and run away. He turned quickly to see the doctor get shot and fall to the floor.
He focused back on where he was going and ran out of a back door he found. Next to the back door was some clothes that looked like they belonged to Wolfeman. He grabbed them and ran out of the back door. He started to run but was cold, so he stopped and quickly put on the clothes. Tw
o of the men in uniform came out of the door and pointed their guns at him.
“Halt!” one of them ordered.
He breathed heavy. Out of desperation he created ball of water aura in his hand.
“Water Blast!” he yelled.
The blast of energy took out the men. He looked at his hands confused then continued to run. He was sitting under the cardboard still questioning everything. The only conclusion he came up with was that he was some sort of experiment or something. A homeless man walked up to him.
