Things have gone back to normal for the most part at the club. Alex’s absence is felt every day, but we’ll never forget him. Brooks is healed and back to barking orders and both Souls are bringing in a shit load of money.
“Good, keep pushing. The head is almost out,” the doctor says.
I snap out of my thoughts and focus on Ivy. I kiss her head and lean closer to her. “You’ve got this. There’s no one stronger than you, Ivy.”
“Fuck,” she yells as she pushes. “I hate you and love you so hard right now!”
I laugh and she gives me a look of death. “I love you too,” I say, smiling.
“One more big push and the baby will be here.”
Holy shit. My heart is pounding in my chest as I look at the doctor and back to Ivy. “This is it, angel. Push,” I say.
She screams as she pushes and suddenly she stops and the tiny cry of a baby is heard. “Congratulations, it’s a boy,” the doctor says.
I grab Ivy and hug her as we both cry over the news. “You did so great. I love you so much,” I say, looking into her watery brown eyes.
“I love you too,” she says, smiling. “Holy shit, it’s a boy.”
I lift my eyebrows and smile. “I told you.”
The doctor places the baby on Ivy’s chest and we both cry again. She wraps her arms around him and I stare in disbelief. He’s perfect.
After a few minutes the doctor takes him to clean him up and I watch over them like a hawk. I refuse to let him out of my sight. Once the nurses are all done with him, and Ivy is all cleaned up, they wrap him tightly in a blanket and pick him up.
“Here you go, daddy,” the nurse says, holding him out for me.
I nervously take him, cradling him in my large arms. I look down at him and his bright blue eyes look up at me. A tear runs down my cheek as we have this moment. “Alexander Kace Chambers, I love you my son.”
I walk over to Ivy and hand her our beautiful son. She moves over and I sit on the bed with her. I stare at her looking down at our son and my life is complete in the moment. Two lives I love more than anything in the world are wrapped in my arms.
“Holy shit, congratulations,” Zane says, walking in with a teddy bear.
I jump off the bed and hug him. Everyone else follows behind and I smile as I move closer to Ivy. “It’s a boy!”
“Are you sure? Cause I heard this story about a baby whose clit was so big they thought it was a dick,” Riley says, holding Gillian close to his side.
She hits him in the stomach, and he grunts. “Shut the fuck up.”
We all laugh, and he smiles. “I’m fucking with you. Congratulations, I’m happy for you guys,” he says.
Everyone takes turns holding Alex and finally it’s just the three of us. Ivy is asleep and I’m sitting in the rocking chair holding my son. I must’ve done something right to deserve this family. I don’t know what it was but I’m fucking thankful.
“Hey,” Zane says walking in.
“Hey, I thought everyone left,” I whisper.
“They did, I wanted to stay a little longer. Check out my godson again.”
I smile and nod for him to sit down. He does and I carefully hand him my world. “He’s fucking perfect, isn’t he?”
“Yeah brother, he looks just like you,” he says, laughing.
“I know,” I laugh with him.
He grins as he looks at me. “You deserve all this love.”
“Two years ago I would’ve disagreed, but no fucking way would I give any of it up now,” I say.
We both smile and look down at Alex. I have two families now and I will never stop loving or protecting them both. Life is a crazy ride and you never know where each turn will take you, but fuck the ride is worth it.
