I Kissed Her First: A BOUND TOGETHER NOVEL

Page 4

by Becs, Lindsay

He hums as he stirs and turns to face me with a sleepy smile spreading across his face. “What are you doing here?”

“I want to spend my birthday with my boyfriend, but he’s trying to sleep through it.” I press a kiss to his lips. “I guess I’ll have to wake you up.”

Pushing on his shoulder until he’s on his back, I look down to see his morning glory tenting the sheet. Grinning, I pull the sheet down and swing a leg over to straddle him.

“Harper,” he warns when I sink down on him and slide my body up and down on his.

Searching his face, I stop moving. “Is it so bad that I want a repeat of last night?”

I watch his throat bob as he swallows. “No.”

Leaning forward, I kiss him, sucking on his bottom lip and feeling the cut left there from my bite last night. I smile against his mouth, liking that I marked him like that.

After a few minutes, he circles my waist, flipping us so I’m on my back with him between my legs. I pull my shirt off and throw it behind me, wanting to get rid of the extra layers of clothing between us.

“Jett,” I say his name as he kisses down my neck, stopping to nip on my collarbone.

He stops and looks down at me. “You want me to stop?”

I shake my head. “Did you mean what you said last night?”

“Harper, I love you more than I thought I could possibly love someone. Especially at our age. I wouldn’t lie about that.”

“I want to…” I trail off, hoping he knows what I’m saying as my nerves begin to take over.

“Are you sure?” he asks, looking concerned. “There isn’t any rush. You know that’s not why I told you, right?”

I beam up at him. Running my fingers over his lips, I say, “I know. But I’m ready. With you, I’m ready. I want to. I want it to be with you.”

He kisses my fingertips as he searches my face. But all he’s going to see is how much I want this. Him.

“Do you, uh, have any, you know…”

  He smirks at me. “Condoms?”

I nod feeling my cheeks heat.

“You sure you’re ready when you can’t even say the words sex and condoms?”

I shove his shoulder. “Don’t make fun of me!”

He laughs. “I wouldn’t think of it, baby.” Standing, he walks to his dresser, digging to the back and pulling out a box of condoms. Holding it up, he looks at me shyly. “I wanted to be prepared for if we ever…”

I am doomed because Jett Leos is the most adorable thing and even sexier than usual when he’s nervous. “Now who can’t say the word sex,” I tease.

And that’s how the most amazing birthday of my life began. I had my first orgasm at midnight that set sparks into the night sky. Then, I spent the next afternoon having my second and third as I lost my virginity with the boy who held my heart as we set the world on fire.

It was messy, and we were uncoordinated and laughed more than you probably should, but it was perfect and it was us. And that made it beautifully perfect.

Jett and I walked hand in hand down to the beach where a bonfire was roaring. It was my birthday, and this was what I wanted for a party. Something small with only a few handfuls of people from school, along with my best friends and boyfriend.

“It’s about time, bitch!” Gabby yells, running toward me. Throwing her arms around my neck, we almost fall, but Jett catches us with a laugh.

Looking back at him, I smile. “Did you know she was coming?” He gives me that lopsided smile with a shrug. Man, I love him.

“I thought you couldn’t come up this weekend?” I say to Gabby, who had told me just last week that she couldn’t make it.

“Well, it seems like if I complain enough and throw a big enough tantrum, I get my way. Who knew?” She smirks, and I shake my head. “Now, it’s time to get you a drink and celebrate you, you sexy thing. Look at you! You are fucking glowing!”

She pulls my hand and I laugh looking back at Jett, who watches me get dragged away by our crazy friend. Stopping in front of a huge Yeti cooler, she opens it and asks, “Okay, you want bubbles, beer, or basic bitch?”

“What does that even mean?” I laugh.

Lifting a brow, she smirks, and I know that look too well. I’m in trouble. Pulling out a bottle of Moet, she pops the top and hands the bottle to me, then does the same with a second bottle. “Cheers, baby!” She cheers, clinking the bottles together. We both press our bottles to our lips, drinking down the bubbly champagne. “Happy birthday, Harper,” she says, smacking my ass before she turns on the crowd that’s here. “Drink up, bitches. It’s my girl’s fucking birthday!” I can only laugh, taking another swig from the bottle in my hand. I love this girl.

Teddy walks over looking slightly uncomfortable. It’s like he can read all over my face what happened between Jett and me. He does know me better than anyone else.

Shyly, I lift my hand to wave lamely at my best friend. He just shakes his head as he rolls his eyes. “Happy birthday, Harps.” Wrapping his arms around me, he squeezes me into a big hug, lifting me off my feet. When he sets me back down on the soft sand, I look up at him, noticing he has a sadness in his eyes. “Have fun, okay? It’s your day.”

Gabby yells my name, waving me over to join her for another drink. Laughing at her, I hold up my finger to let her know I’ll be over in a second.

“Thanks for…” I trail off, not knowing how to thank Teddy for letting Jett take his place last night.

“I only want you to be happy.”

Turning my head, I look over at Jett, who’s joking around with Gabby and a few other people. “I am.” I smile. “Let’s go get drunk.” Grabbing his hand, I pull him with me toward everyone else and hand him a drink. He needs to have fun too.

Music gets turned up, and the more I drink, the more relaxed I feel. Everyone settles into a fun night of music and dancing and plenty of drunken laughs.

“Are you cold?” Jett asks in my ear, snaking his arms around my middle.

Sinking into his warmth, I answer, “Not anymore.”

“I could see your nipples from across the beach,” he rumbles in my ear, making me instantly feel turned on. When he reaches up and pinches one, I moan, leaning back against him more.

“Fuuuuck,” I say, sounding all throaty and needy.

“My baby gets dirty and horny when she’s drunk,” he muses.

Spinning in his arms, I look up at him. “You gonna do something about it?”

His brows pull together. “You sure you’re okay? You aren’t like sore or anything?”

Rising to my tiptoes, I bite at his chin, loving the sound his scruff makes as my teeth rake over it. “Now that we’ve done it, I don’t think I’ll ever want to stop.” I know it’s the alcohol coursing through me that is making me so honest and open, talking about the sex we had earlier.

His head falls to mine. “You are going to literally kill me. You test my restraint more than you know, Harper.”

“No need to restrain any more, baby,” I tease.

“Harper, all these people are here to celebrate you. We can’t just leave.”

“It’s my party, and I’ll fuck if I want to,” I sass, making him laugh.

“And I think you’re a little too drunk to make good decisions right now.”

Sticking my lip out, I pout. “You saying you’re a bad decision?”

“Probably,” he chuckles, tucking my hair behind my ear and kissing me breathless. When he stops, he leads me back to the fire, where I fall asleep in his arms, waking just enough to know he’s placing me in my bed sometime later.

  “I love you, Jett.”

“I love you too,” he says, leaning forward to kiss me on the forehead. “There’s water and painkillers by your bed that Teddy left for you. “Happy birthday, Harper.”

  Chapter Seven

  Jett

I can only laugh when Harper walks out her back door with a hat on her head and sunglasses on her face, wincing from the
sun.

“You feeling okay, baby?” I yell at her.

“Shhhhh,” she shushes me with a hand out.

Dropping a soft kiss to her lips when she reaches me, I smile down at her. “A little hungover, are ya?”

  “Freaking Gabby,” she grumbles.

“Well, freaking Gabby and Teddy are waiting for us at the beach. She leaves in the morning and was pissed I kept you all to myself yesterday until the party.”

She sighs, leaning into me. “Okay, just one more minute.”

Hugging her closer to me, I kiss the top of her head and inhale the sweet smell of her.

“There’s my girl!” Gabby yells as we come down to where she and Teddy are waiting.

“How are you so peppy?” Harper asks Gabby with a wince as they embrace.

“Pickle juice,” Gabby says smugly. “Hangover cure that works like a charm every time.”

“Gross,” Harper grumbles, pinching her face in disgust.

“You say that, but look at me and look at you, girl,” Gabby teases her. “But did you have fun?”

She smiles, wrapping her arms around my waist and leaning into me as she did at her house before, looking up at me. “I did. The whole day was perfect.”

Gripping her chin between my finger and thumb, I tilt her head back more and take her lips with mine.

“Okay,” Teddy says, clapping his hands and breaking us apart. “Let’s start this game.”

  “What game?” Harper asks.

“Volleyball, bitch,” Gabby says, bumping the ball with her fist and catching it. “How do you want to play? Girls versus boys or lovers versus friends?”

“Both,” Harper says with a grin. “That way I know I’ll win at least once.”

Gabby gives her a high five as they laugh. “That hurts, babe,” I tell her with a hand on my chest.

“You’re good at a lot of things, but volleyball is not one of them, Jett plane.” She teases me with a sparkle in her eye, biting her lip.

Shit, she’s making me hard thinking about biting into that lip of hers, the feel of her under me. She’s so damn sexy and has no idea just how much.

I pierce her with a look, the corner of my mouth tipping up as I reach down and adjust myself in my board shorts that do nothing to conceal what she does to me.

“Dude. Really?” Teddy scoffs next to me.

“Sorry,” I say, but really, I’m not because the girl across from me is everything.

She and Gabby strip down to their bikinis. Obviously not playing fair. So, Teddy and I pull off our shirts, tossing them aside before high-fiving.

“Alright, let do this!” he yells, getting amped up.

Gabby serves first. Since she’s the volleyball star at her school back in Miami, we pretty much let her run the show whenever she’s here and we play a match with her. She’s a beast on the court. We get to see her in action from the videos that go viral of her. She’s that good.

Teddy dives to hit her serve but ends up with a mouthful of sand instead. Spitting, he stands and gets ready to do it again. He takes these games way too seriously.

Gabby serves again, and this time I call it and manage to hit it over. Harper hits it back, Teddy volleys it back over straight to Harper again, but she hits it wrong and it ends up behind her, gaining us a point.

Teddy and I hold our own alright but lose to the girls by five points in the end.

“Are we switching now? I’d like to win this time,” Teddy says.

“Wow. Am I really that bad, guys?” I ask the group. They all stare at me. “I do have feelings, you know!”

Harper ducks under the net, wrapping her arms around me. “And you’re so cute too.”

“Stop patronizing me, woman!” I joke, looking away from her, not hugging her back.

We start another game, and it’s much like the last one, except that Harper and I lose by not scoring any points at all. Maybe I really do suck that bad.

“You’re my favorite loser,” Harper says to me as Gabby and Teddy celebrate their blackout.

I kiss her. I can’t stop kissing her. Ever.

A throat clears, pulling us from our lust-fueled make-out session. Harper turns to walk away, but I pull her hips back. When her ass hits my hard dick, she laughs.

  “Need a swim?” she asks.

“I need something,” I growl into her ear.

She physically shudders against me, and I hold in a moan.

“Holy shit, you two did the deed, didn’t you?” Gabby asks with a knowing look on her smug face.

Teddy spins around, cutting me with a look that shows he isn’t happy. But I’m tired of answering to him for everything I do with Harper. She’s my girlfriend, not his.

Spinning Harper around to face me again, I grab her thighs, wrapping them around my waist, and take off running toward the water before she can say anything. Her arms hold on around my neck as her giggles fill the ocean air like music.

  Gabby

“You okay?” I ask Teddy as his eyes stay glued on Jett and Harper running into the waves.

  “I’m awesome,” he deadpans.

“Teddy,” I start, putting a hand on his arm.

  “Don’t, Gabs. It’s fine.”

“When are you going to stop this pining shit and move on?”

He looks at me then. “She’s my best friend. Nothing more.”

“That’s bullshit and you know it,” I tell him, seeing right through his lies.

Before I have time to process what’s happening, his hand comes to the back of my head, and he pulls me in for a kiss. Our lips fuse together harshly at first, but then he softens and so do I.

What started as a kiss of angry revenge becomes a kiss of passion. Of so much more. He’s a good kisser, better than I thought he’d be since he has such a stick up his ass much of the time. But kissing Teddy is like a breath of fresh air I wasn’t expecting.

Our lips move together as our tongues tease and taste. Our bodies turn in toward one another, and my hands slide to his back. His one hand in my hair holds me to him while the other snakes down my back to the curve of my ass.

He slows after a few seconds, pressing soft pecks on my lips before he pulls away fully. Looking up at him with hooded eyes, I take in his blues and feel like I’m seeing Teddy for the first time.

  “Wow.”

  “Yeah.” He smirks.

  “Let’s do that some more.”

He nods before capturing my lips again. I moan when I feel his hard dick rubbing against me. I’m a tall girl, and Teddy isn’t that much taller than me, making him hit me in all the right places.

“Come on,” I say into his mouth, taking his hand in mine.

“Where we going, trouble?” He smiles at me, smoothing my hair back and out of my face. It’s then I notice it’s the most relaxed I’ve seen him in… well, ever.

  “We’re going to go fuck.”

  “What?!” His eyes bug out.

I laugh at him. “I’m kidding.” Tilting my head to the side, I add, “Unless you want to.”

  “I… I don’t know…” he stammers.

“Then let me make you feel good and help you forget for a little bit.”

“Gabby, you don’t have to do anything like that.”

“I know. But I want to.” I grin.

I’m not a fool; I know I’m different from them. My life in Miami is vastly different from theirs here. I lost my V-card almost two years ago. I’m not exactly picky about who I’m macking on or feeling good with. I’m not a total slut, but I’m definitely not naïve or a prude either.

“I just…” He pauses and looks out at the water to where Jett and Harper are.

“I get it. I’m not her.”

He looks back at me, his brows pinched together. “I don’t know what the hell I’m doing, Gabs.”

“Good thing you don’t have to have it figured out yet then.” I smile at him. “Come on, let’s go swim to calm that cock down. Hopefully, you don’t poke any fish in the eyes.”

He laughs and kisses me again. “Thank you for being you.”

“Don’t know how to be anyone else.”

Taking my hand, he tugs until we’re both running into the waves and diving under. I jump on his back, and we make our way over to our friends, the make-you-wanna-puke cute couple.

We chicken fight and laugh and end a great day together. I worry about Teddy, but I know there isn’t much I can do about his heart. I wish I lived here year-round. For now, the countdown is on, only another month until summer, when I’m back for my three favorite months of the year.

  Chapter Eight

  Jett

“No,” I seethe, spitting venom toward my parents.

“You can say no all you want, but you have no choice in the matter, son,” my dad says casually like he isn’t ruining my life for the second time in three years. He sips his liquor, the ice rattling in the tumbler as he brings it to his lips, looking over a work contract. He doesn’t even give me the dignity of his undivided attention.

I huff, biting on the inside of my cheek so I don’t get myself in more trouble. My eyes search my mom’s, who sits across from me. Her eyes are brimmed with tears, but I know she won’t say much or fight my dad.

“Unbelievable,” I scoff, standing up to leaving the room. I need to get out of here and away from them. Both of them.

I stop and pull a bottle of something alcoholic down from the liquor cabinet—not caring what it is—grab my skateboard and slam the door shut behind me. Chucking the lid somewhere in the grass, I tilt the bottle back, letting it burn down my throat, then it’s foot to pavement as I skate down the road.

No surprise when I end up at Harper’s house.

Climbing—or attempting and falling… a lot—up the trellis that leads to her balcony, I finally flop over the side in a fit of laughter. Grabbing the handle, I push, hoping she didn’t lock it. I smile bigger when it opens and I fall through into her room.
