"Ninja King has died. Please hurry and kill the remaining ninjas in the second level of the royal mausoleum so that you can return to the Murong Clan and report your success!"
Happy lay quietly on the pile of rubble in the tomb while he stared at Ninja King's corpse in the distance before finally releasing a huge sigh of relief. He relaxed and just breathed a few times before he sat up cross-legged with great difficulty under Old Swordsman's indifferent gaze. He then fed himself a Dew Pill and activated Constellation Breathing Technique.
Quite a number of bones in his body were shattered, and he was in great pain. Doing any sort of action was extremely difficult. Fortunately, he had the protective incense pouch with him, and Old Swordsman was sitting by the side, protecting him. Otherwise, Happy would not have dared to be so arrogant and careless that he would heal himself without any hesitation.
Once Ninja King died, he was considered to have completed his clan quest, and what remained was just some normal tasks of clean up.
"Well, it's worth it!"
Happy cast a glance at the Ninja King's corpse, which was not very far away from him, and put on a happy smile. He walked over slowly and crouched down before he started groping about. In the end, he brought out a silver Universe Bag, and the smile on his face grew brighter. His heart quickly began racing in excitement.
He had thought that with an NPC joining the battle and contributing the most in killing Ninja King, he would not be able to get any loot from the fight!
He quickly opened the Universe Bag and looked inside.
He shuddered.
A sparkling, golden armor lay in the Universe Bag.
"No way… so good?"
Happy got so excited that his throat became dry. He gulped laboriously and brought out the Golden Armor.
When he held it in his hands, he felt that it was different from what he expected.
"No way?"
He brought it up and took a good look at it. There were plenty of sword tears on the armor, and it was damaged in multiple areas. There was even a terrifying hole at the c.h.e.s.t.
[Damaged Golden Armor:
[An armor belonging to a general from the Yan Dynasty. During the fight between Ninja King and Old Swordsman, Golden Armor was badly damaged. It cannot be worn and has lost its protective functions. It can only be repaired if the user finds Stone with Water, Unakite, and Vajra Stone and ask a Master Level Tailor to repair it.
[The repaired armor will provide 800 defense. Reduce 20% of internal injury damage ,and maintains the user's posture unless instant damage dealt surpasses personal defense and damage is more than 1,000. If conditions are not met, user's posture will remain, and actions will not be interrupted. Increase dodge rate by 20%. Increase Body Movement by 10.]
It was an incredibly great equipment with great attributes!
But when Happy saw the descriptions at the start, he suddenly felt helpless and gloomy, so much so that he wanted to cry, but could not. There was no way he would be able to wear the damaged Golden Armor for the time being.
Even though he could repair it, there was no way he could easily find a Master Level Tailor.
Besides, among the three items that were mentioned, aside from Vajra Stone, which was something dropped by Ninja King's clone, and which he already had, the other two crystals were something that he remembered being pretty rare even in his previous life!
Those two items were at the second level of the crystal mines and in a narrow cave.
Even though that place was small, there was a Stone King that served as a garrison there, and he was a rare monster that made many martial artists so wary of him that they did not dare to venture near it. That monster was born from high-grade ores.
Its qi cultivation was equal to that of Ninja King equipped with Golden Armor, but Stone King was even more durable, and his defense was higher. He was not slow either, and even Old Swordsman would not be his opponent!
Perhaps because Old Swordsman had been the main contributor in killing Ninja King, there nothing else in the Universe Bag aside from this damaged and useless Golden Armor. It made Happy really disappointed.
But fortunately for him, the most difficult part of the quest was over.
Once he returned to the Murong Clan, he should be able to receive some good rewards.
When he thought of that, Happy finally decided to forget about the great disappointment brought by the damaged Golden Armor. He sighed and tossed the armor into his Universe Bag.
He focused, and his gaze suddenly land on Ninja King's silver Universe Bag.
Happy's eyes swiftly brightened up. 'Happy, you idiot. You didn't just get one "souvenir" from this trip! Silver Universe Bags can also be considered as masterpieces. Not only can they contain more items, they are more exquisite and easier to carry. They can be used to fend against the petty tricks used by thieves and bandits.'
The Universe Bag's mouth was facing upwards, and Happy left it open so that it would not affect his speed when he took out items during battle.
"I can't be considered to have received nothing."
Happy smiled and cast a glance at Old Swordsman before he lifted his feet and left the tomb with the heirloom seal.
*****
He faced no obstacles in the tunnel to the right in the second level of the royal mausoleum while he went to an area near the main hall located at the end of the second level of the royal mausoleum.
Even Happy had to stop when he arrived at that place. He observed the group of ninjas in the hall from the distance while staying on guard. There were dozens of Cloning Ninjas and Japanese Ninjas mixed together, and there were even a few Shadow Warriors who had cold gazes mixed in. He could also see dozens of Knife-throwing Ninjas at the back.
That lineup was even more terrifying than Ninja King!
If he went in there recklessly, he would surely die.
But Happy could see a few familiar faces at the other end of the hall. They were doing their best to use all sorts of hand signals to catch his attention.
Flap, flap, flap!
A snow-white messenger pigeon flew over.
[Where's Ninja King? You shook him off?]
[Yup! He's held back by a puppet. There are quite a lot of ninjas in the hall, so let's work together. Each side should lure half of the ninjas into their tunnel.] When Happy replied to the message, he also made a suggestion.
[Alright!]
The reply from the other side was very simple.
Thud!
Thud!
The ninjas in the hall suddenly noticed that invaders had appeared in both tunnels. They let out a strange cry and split up to charge at the enemies closest to them.
There were hundreds of people in the tunnel across from Happy. They had made preparations and blocked off the ninjas in a corner. Because of that, the Knife-throwing Ninjas behind the rest did not have a clear field of vision and could not attack. The players then began to shave off the Cloning Ninjas and Japanese Ninjas one by one.
Happy's side was even more exciting!
Because he was alone…
Once he lured a large group of ninjas into the depths of the tunnel, soldier puppets rushed at them. Then, Happy activated his improved Golden Bell Cocoon and charged into the midst of the ninjas as well!
Chapter 291 - Exit the Mausoleum
The final hall in the second level of the royal mausoleum was filled with a happiness that was born from the people knowing that the entire thing was about to come to an end and they were about to get their rewards.
There were more than seventy corpses of different ninjas strewn all over the narrow tunnel. They could be found every dozen feet.
The few remaining soldier puppets had also been crushed in the tunnel. They used their last moments to protect Yan Dynasty's royal mausoleum, and although they ended up having their bones crushed, it proved their value.
The Knife-throwing Ninjas' positions and throwing knives were more troublesome to deal with. However, once they rea
ched the hall in the second level of the royal mausoleum, they found that they could not retreat any further. The people from the two tunnels to the left and right forced them into a corner The throwing knives that sank into the floor, walls, and stone pillars in the hall became their final song of despair before their deaths.
The players finally emerged victorious in the raid, and the trip to the royal mausoleum came to an end.
The loot was distributed calmly after that.
The four sects distributed what belonged to them equally.
Happy collected all the resources in his side of the tunnel. He obtained seven high-grade masterpieces, quite a lot of Soaring Eagle Swords, and money. His rewards were great, but the people from the four sects were willing to let this happen. No one interfered with him taking his loot.
In comparison, they were much more curious about Ninja King.
When they saw him return with the loot, they subconsciously surrounded him from all sides.
"Where's Ninja King?"
"I'm not too sure about that. If there is anyone who is interested in the tomb to the right, you can go over and take a look." Happy casually made it seem that Ninja King was held back in the tomb to the right and that he had seized a chance to escape.
"Is the puppet in the tomb that good?"
"Yup, he should be in Moksha Realm."
"Then if they are heavily injured because of the fight, won't we have a chance?"
One person in the group was tempted, but soon, the others scoffed at him, and he let his idea die a natural death.
"They're in Moksha Realm, bro. Even if they're injured, we won't be able to do anything to them, and you think that you can kill them? Even if you want to be the third party who benefits, you need to be strong enough for that. Do you actually think those are two puppies fighting?"
The person who had held some hope was rendered speechless.
Happy smiled.
"His words might be crass, but his reasoning is right. I have to say, during the few minutes Ninja King chased after me, I used up three bottles of Dew Pills. If you're interested in cleaning up after them, I won't stop you… but it'll be best if we break this wall and get out of the royal mausoleum first. If you lure Ninja King over before that, we'll all die because of you."
In his heart, however, he thought, 'Ninja King's gone, but Old Swordsman is still around. If you really end up provoking him, I have to say, you have even more rotten luck than me provoking Ninja King.'
The person who had spoken earlier was so embarrassed he wanted to die. His face turned red, and he smiled foolishly without saying anything more.
"Since Ninja King is not dead yet, we can't waste time. Let's attack together and break this Ghost Face Wall so that we can leave the royal mausoleum!" Ouyang Qing said.
There were only around ten Wudang Sect disciples left alive, and they could be considered to be in a very miserable state. When Ouyang Qing heard Happy's words, he was suddenly very worried. If Ninja King came over and they ended up getting wiped out, he would not be able to handle the emotional shock.
The others felt as if they had been targeted and felt uneasy. They rushed to the green Ghost Face Wall at the end of the hall.
They could see a glowing door through a hole on the wall. It was probably the exit of the royal mausoleum.
"Wait!"
Once they talked about getting out of the royal mausoleum, Happy suddenly remembered one problem, and his face darkened. While facing the puzzled gazes from the four sects, he said, "Let me send a message and ask my friends outside whether the people from Soaring Tiger Sect are still waiting outside!"
There was a brief moment of silence before the four sects burst into a commotion.
The rewards and the things they saw along the way had made them forget about the matter regarding Soaring Tiger Sect they had told about earlier. Right then, when they saw the solemn expression on Happy's face, they immediately became wary.
*****
[Boss, the flowers are about to wilt with how long we've waited. Is there really a need for you to spend so much time to clear the royal mausoleum?]
Little North had nearly fallen asleep in the bamboo forest by the time the messenger pigeon finally arrived, and he instantly poured out all his grumbles in the letter. [They're still there, but their numbers seemed to have increased. There should be around four hundred of them, I think. Most of them are archers, and they're in formation. These bastards. Why do they have to be so professional when they're out robbing people? If they have so much time to waste, why don't they spend it training and grinding? Idiots.]
Thunderous Battle watched Little North fluently write down his thoughts at great length and nearly rolled his eyes, but he said nothing. When the messenger pigeon was released, both of them became spirited and prepared to work.
Even though Soaring Tiger Sect had numbers on their side and archers locking down the door, they believed that it was not enough to stop Happy.
Soon, a messenger pigeon returned with a letter, and the reply was simple and easily understood.
[Attack.]
Neither of the duo said anything. They just crushed the letter and jumped down from up high. They stepped on the air a few times with graceful postures while flying over Soaring Tiger Sect members' heads.
"Who is it?!"
"No! There's someone around!"
The sound of robes fluttering alerted a small number of people who were rather ready for trouble. However, their reaction speed was not good enough. By the time the people from Soaring Tiger Sect noticed that enemies had arrived among them, Thunderous Battle and Little North landed where there was the densest group of players.
They activated their qi realms!
They were like tigers who had charged into a herd of sheep. A group of people from Soaring Tiger Sect was swiftly killed.
Ten Thousand Poisonous Palms took away multiple lives with one swing, and quite a number of Soaring Tiger Sect members fell to the ground listlessly with black wounds.
Thunderous Battle fought with even more fury! When his Infinite Sword Technique was paired with Wind Spirit Spin, he could clear an area with just a swing of his sword.
His sword glare increased in brightness, and he did not care about the various weapons striking him. He just slaughtered his way through and left a bloody trial behind himself while rushing straight at the archers.
Whoosh!
When Soaring Tiger Sect's sect master noticed that his people were dying and the invaders had astonishing strength, he rose up in anger. With a ghastly expression, he stared at the two figures in the crowd, and great puzzlement as well as confusion shone in his eyes.
Suddenly, his expression changed drastically.
"This is bad!"
He quickly redirected his gaze in the direction of the door of the royal mausoleum! He was just in time to catch a hint of a golden figure that resembled a bell in the corner of his eyes. That figure rushed out of the door with a forceful and astonishing momentum, and it went straight for the group of archers across from him. The man was so fast that he was an amazing sight to behold.
When he saw the many people outside, the plump black man froze for a moment. Then, he looked at the yellow-dressed person in front of him who just kept charging forward without turning back, and an endless amount of heroic spirit instantly rose in his eyes.
"Damn you all!"
He gritted his teeth and let out a muffled growl that sounded like an oppressed beast! Then, he moved like a mobile combat fortress and rushed into the crowd!
The archers of Soaring Tiger Sect had been paying attention to the gate all that while. Even though someone had appeared to disturb them and attracted their attention for a moment, the people at the sides noticed the duo who had charged out of the royal mausoleum at first notice. Without any hesitation, they rained down a shower of arrows on them!
However, once the arrows reached the person in the front, they were immediately knocked away by the golden bell arou
nd him. He did not slow down and charged straight into the group of archers right in front of him.
The person in black armor was equally terrifying.
When he swung his greataxe, an unending stream of axe shadows rose around him, and most of the arrows shattered or were blown away!
"Kill them!"
The thirteen staff-using monks and the elites of Beautiful Robes Faction charged out of the royal mausoleum with the force of a tidal wave!
Soaring Tiger Sect's sect master s.u.c.k.e.d in a sharp breath and swallowed the order he was about to give. He stared at his own people in disbelief as the four intruders threw them into chaos, and his face turned pale.
He ended up poking a hornet's nest!
Chapter 292 - As in, H-A-P-P-Y
In truth, when the people from the four sects rushed out of the royal mausoleum and saw the dense group of players around them, they were slightly afraid. However, the lineup of archers group from Soaring Tiger Sect had been thrown into disorder. Their firepower was completely concentrated on One Circle, who had been dubbed Demonic Cannon because of his shocking defenses.
When the players sensed the heroic air and morale of One Circle and Happy, they became filled with fighting spirit and forgot about surviving. They rushed out to kill the Soaring Tiger Sect members who were right in front of them.
Since they were elites, their individual power was not something normal players could compare to.
When they saw that a group of Mystical Realm players had decided to serve as vanguards, the members of Soaring Tiger Sect in the area were instantly shocked.
It was very different from what they had expected! They had come to ambush the sects inside, but right then, they looked as if they had been the ones ambushed.
They had to face the thirteen staff-using monks who attacked them furiously, and once they arrow shower was blocked, the morale among the Soaring Tiger Sect members fell to the point that they retreated.
