Glutinous Rice's Jade Shuttle Sword Technique took many people's lives, and Phoenix Dances, Tea Words, as well as the others also killed quite a number of Class One Hall's elites.

If things continued to progress in such a manner, even though Beautiful Robes Faction would suffer quite a large number of deaths, their advantage in numbers would increase drastically as time passed, and the four hundred or so people from Class One Hall might all die.

Many people began to be anxious.

'Why haven't Chief Clouds and his group arrived yet?'

Chapter 352 - Chief Promise Clouds

  The forest was quiet.

Chief Promise Clouds of Class One Hall had already replaced the paper fan in his hands with a high-grade masterpiece, Profound Green, which was surrounded by green light. His Profound Green was a first-echelon sword. Its attack reached 600 points, and its attributes made it a weapon that a normal player could not obtain.

However, even as he held the first-echelon Profound Green tightly in his hands, it did not give Promise Clouds any sense of safety.

  Thud… thud!

Behind him was a young man in his twenties. He held a sword in one hand while he pressed against a wound at his stomach with the other. He stared at the forest around him with a pale and frightened face. Blood poured out swiftly from between his fingers and dripped slowly on the ground.

There were nine Class One Hall elites who were well equipped around Promise Clouds. Each of them had different degrees of fear on their faces. They had their weapons drawn, and they formed a circle while feeling anxious as they stared at the forest around them. Everyone had a lot of wounds on their bodies.

Beyond the circle formation were around a dozen corpses strewn all over the road. Based on their equipment, their strength should not have been inferior to that of the people still standing.

  "Damn it…"

Promise Clouds stayed vigilant of his surroundings while he retained a defensive posture. He gritted his teeth, and not a single hint of relaxation could be detected from his eyes. His palms were drenched since a long time ago.

Their group had decided to set up an ambush based on Beautiful Robes Faction's progress. They were formed by twenty-five core members from Class One Hall, and their battle prowess was only slightly inferior to that of Evil Wolf. Every single one of them could take up big responsibilities for Class One Hall.

Such a lineup was supposed to be able to easily cut through a lot of Beautiful Robes Faction's people, but right when they were prepared to launch their ambush while listening to the sounds of battle, they were attacked from everywhere in the forest, and those attacks came in a bizarre fashion.

The hidden weapons came very suddenly, and they were also very quick! No one in the group could grasp the attack trajectory, and the first wave of attacks instantly killed five people! When they activated their body fortifications and prepared to charge into the forest to drag out the ambusher, they noticed in fear and despair that the hidden weapons had the effect of breaking their defenses.

Eleven people were killed on their way into the forest without even the chance to cry out for help. One boomerang was enough to destroy their body fortifications, and they would get stabbed right through the moment after. All of those who were hit lay dead by the side of the road.

How many enemies were there? They did not know!

Who was their enemy? They did not know!

In fact, even the people who had been ambushed did not receive any notification from the system.

It was the first time Promise Clouds had ran into such a situation, but even though he had been stunned by the two quick rounds of attacks, he still instinctively chose to protect himself. Once the others formed the circle formation, they saw that no hidden weapons appeared again from the forest.

Promise Clouds forced down the anger and humiliation he felt from the bottom of his heart and quietly reminded his people, "Be on guard and retain the formation. We're leaving the forest."

'That's right. Leaving the forest is currently our only good option. The enemy has used some sort of method to bypass the system notification. He even used to forest to conceal himself. If this continues, even when we die, we won't know who killed us.'

The worst part was that as time passed, a brilliant fire arrow serving as a signal rose from another part of the forest. It was a request for reinforcements that they had promised each other to use only during urgent situations.

This meant that something unexpected had happened in the battlefield over there, and they were almost unable to hold the fort!

If they continued fighting in the forest, there was a high possibility that the four hundred people would all die. After all, Beautiful Robes Faction also had quite a lot of elites who were in Mystical Realm and had good equipment.

  *****

  Whoosh!

Right when the circle formation moved, a black arc tore through the air and destroyed the silence in the forest. It cut off the way forward like lightning.

When their path forward was blocked off, Promise Clouds and the others became even more vigilant, but right when they increased their guard, the sound of air being cut reached their ears.

  Blood flew into the air.

  "Go!"

  "Charge out!"

It was the sign that the intensity of the ambush was about to increase. Promise Clouds was alarmed. He called upon his qi in a frenzy, and the group jumped into the air at the same time. They used their fastest speed to head to the edge of the forest.

  Their robes fluttered.

  "Urk!"

There more hidden weapons slicing through the air as they had expected. Under the protection of the trees, they were like black threads that accurately hit two people's bodies.

  Two more were gone.

  Eight were left!

They were all Class One Hall's core members. They might not have created any fame for themselves in the game, but they were definitely very valuable to Class One Hall.

When Promise Clouds saw his party members fall to the ground, he felt his heart bleed. He could not even stop to pick what his dead comrades had dropped. He led his group out and continued to flee far away until they squashed the pain they felt in their hearts.

The attacks from the forest came one after another, and they grew stronger than the previous two waves!

The sound of air being cut became more frequent. The boomerangs came wave after wave, and their speed was astonishing. They were so fast that Promise Clouds and his group broke into cold sweat. They felt as if a very powerful demon was approaching them swiftly.

  One… Two… Three…

Promise Clouds' companions continued dying and thereby leaving the team.

However, they had already reached the end of the forest.

The sudden brightness that swiftly expanded in their field of vision filled the five remaining people with enthusiasm. The attacks from behind them also suddenly stopped at the moment they were about to leave the forest.

  "We're save!"

Smiles bloomed on the faces of Promise Clouds and the rest. They were the type sported by people who had just survived through a disaster. However, those smiles froze on their faces when they saw a person standing not too far away from them and blocking their way.

The man had two swords and stood quietly while his cold eyes shone through the incomplete silver mask.

  Parting hooks and boomerangs!

Promised Clouds' gaze focused. He suddenly stopped moving and remembered Evil Wolf mentioning someone in private not too long ago.

He was a mysterious and powerful player who showed that he was equal in strength to Lu Mingyue when he fought against him in a town whose name no one remembered. Later on, they had lost sight of him.

It seemed like the mysterious player Evil Wolf had mentioned was the person in front of him.

"Silver Wolf!" Promise Clouds called out to the person across him to test the waters.

He could not be sure that Silver Wolf
had been the one who did all those things previously, or to be more specific, he did not dare believe that Silver Wolf alone had been responsible for twenty of his companions' deaths!

Silver Wolf looked up slightly and cast Promise Clouds a faint glance before he said indifferently, "Take one more step forward and you'll die."

"It's you, you're the one who killed my brothers!"

Before Promise Clouds could say anything, the four people behind him rushed out. They did not know Silver Wolf, so when they saw the enemy reveal himself, they wanted to vent all their anger without hesitation. The only thought they had in mind was revenge.

The four people laughed viciously at the same time. They thought the man had been scared silly.

Only Promise Clouds remembered something when he saw it, and his expression changed drastically.

  "Careful!"

With a sweeping kick, Silver Wolf sent ten throwing knives flying upwards in the air.

He swung his parting hooks with both hands, and ten boomerangs flew out like a woman's hair blown by the wind. They traveled in strange arcs toward the four people.

  Chapter 353 - Students, Unyielding

The cries for murder and all sorts of sounds of weapons clashing against each other rose frequently in the forest and mingled together. The sound waves shocked and scared away countless birds. The sounds even rushed up to the sky, and the situation was similar to a battlefield right then!

Occasionally, someone would be able to see hundreds of Beautiful Robes Faction members chasing after a dozen Class One Hall members out of the forest. Every single person's body was covered in wounds. While they were on the way, someone would occasionally be hit and fall to the ground, but that did not deter the Beautiful Robes Faction members.

Instead, they became even more enraged and filled with violence as they pounced on the enemy that was stronger than the entire group in terms of armor and skills. Their young faces were filled with savagery and unyielding determination, causing the Class One Hall members who kept executing all sorts of skills to feel frightened and enraged.

When they charged forward to kill, at least fifty people had died in their hands while only eight had fallen on their side. This horrifyingly large difference in the number of deaths would have caused a normal sect to not be able to bear the results and would have made them return to the city or town to stop fighting.

However, the young boys and girls who had pretty good skills just kept chasing after them through the forest. Each fighting circle had its own manpower that could bring them the advantage in their fight, and with the viciousness of sacrificing a large number of their own people to kill anyone from Class One Hall, the people of Class One Hall who had come over with great confidence that they could win easily started to feel alarmed and uneasy.

Even though they had absolute skill advantage, they were surrounded and attacked by a group of people, and their body fortifications just kept on weakening. Their qi was being drained at an incredibly shocking pace. Normal medicinal pills could no longer allow them to remain in their best condition.

There were a few people with Dew Pills, but they were not in a much better position. At most, they could last one or two more rounds of attacks compared to their companions.

  "Damn it!"

"Do they think that we're scared?!"

"Even if we die, we'll have all of Beautiful Robes Faction die with us! Kill them!"

The streak of tigers was bitten by a pack of wolves. Their true qi was rapidly being drained, but they did not have the chance to replenish it. In their anger at that, they decided to turn around and cut down the Beautiful Robes Faction members that were closest to them.

Once the fierce momentum of Class One Hall surged up, seven Beautiful Robes Faction members were immediately approached by what looked like shadows and cut down.

B.u.t.t Shaker was one of the leaders of Beautiful Robes Faction in the crowd.

Right then, he led the attacks right at the front while being covered by his companions.

He was already injured, and to try his best to reduce the death count on his side, he had to keep on using Dew Pills to continuously heal his injuries and replenish his qi. Only this way could he manage to remain on the frontlines.

He was the first to face the brunt of the attack from a dozen Class One Hall members launching their counterattack. He felt pain in his abdomen from two sabers that had come slicing at him from his sides.

  "DIE!"

Class One Hall elites had actually been paying attention to the fatty who had stunning defenses and astonishing tenacity. When they launched their explosive counterattack, there were actually three people who attacked him at the same time. In their eyes, as long as they got rid of him, the other students would lose a powerful vanguard, and their battle prowess would be largely reduced.

When B.u.t.t Shaker reacted to the situation, two aggressive saber glares had already appeared in front of him.

  "Get lost."

  "Bastard!"

When they saw that their efforts were in vain, Class One Hall members flew into a rage and swung their weapons at the bloody person.

  "Rascal!"

When B.u.t.t Shaker turned his head around, he was just in time to see a blood-drenched NotaRascal having his c.h.e.s.t pierced through by two sabers. A heavy weight and sadness filled his heart.

  "Damn you!"

B.u.t.t Shaker gnashed his teeth together.

Without much thought, he pounced on the two people who had attacked him. With a punch and a kick, he struck the two people into stumbling back with Angry Arhat Sleeps [1].

The people behind B.u.t.t Shaker pounced on them angrily as well. Eight people rushed up and surrounded the two people who lost their balance before cutting them down.

But NotaRascal could no longer be saved.

"Hehe… Two for the price of one… It's worth it!"

His head lolled to the side then.

"Didn't I tell you to recuperate at the back, you…" B.u.t.t Shaker fell to the ground once his qi was depleted. He held NotaRascal's cold corpse with a face that was a mix of blood and tears.

"Those bastards! KILL THEM ALL!" he roared hysterically.

NotaRascal's act of sacrificing himself to save one of their own greatly upset the members of Beautiful Robes Faction. They did not even need Bum to give them an order before taking the initiative to rush at the few people who had been lucky enough to survive earlier.

Some of them even attacked the corpses a few times, because they had not finished venting all their rage.

When they attacked without caring about their own losses, the faces of the few remaining Class One Hall members turned pale. Their body fortifications were quickly destroyed, and they were cut so many times that they soon became drenched in blood.

When they faced the Beautiful Robes Faction who did not fear death and fought with their lives on the line, the last few remaining people broke down and completely lost their fighting spirit.

  "Kill them!"

"Surround them! Don't let those bastards run!"

In the distance were countless players who heard about the news and came over. It was the first time they had seen such a horrifying and violent battle. They felt chills go down their spines, and cold sweat broke out on their backs against their will.

A pack of wolves had murdered a fierce tiger.

Similar scenes continuously appeared in the forest and its borders.

During the battle, the Class One Hall members gradually gained an understanding toward something, and when they discovered it, they were filled with anguish.

The fighting spirit and determination of the students was much firmer and stronger than any of the sects they had faced in the past. When their friends died during the battle, the students grew angry, and their hearts filled with hatred. When even more of their friends died, they did not become fearful either.

Instead, their fighting spirit grew even more frenzied. Their d.e.s.i.r.e for victory and glory was
unlike that of a normal sect, whose members would flee once their leaders died. As long as the students had a person beside them, their fighting spirit would never perish!

As long as they did not die, they would not stop fighting!

The people beside them were their companions, their comrades-in-arms, their classmates they mingled around with all day long, their dormmates, and their friends.

They grew up together, laughed together, and were in pain together. They knew just how diligently each person worked, and they knew about the punishment of death and its effects. Every single time a person died, they would feel pain, and it would be etched deeply into their hearts.

It was the case for one person, and it was the case for one thousand others.

Their dignity turned into a fighting spirit that allowed them to fling caution to the wind.

As Class One Hall continued to provoke and stimulate them, all Beautiful Robes Faction members forgot to retreat. The true meaning of fighting while cutting off any means of retreat was displayed by the Beautiful Robes Faction members.

When the last enemy near them died, they would search for traces of their next target like a pack of wounded wolves searching for their next prey.

  They won…

When they looked at the corpses of more than two hundred Class One Hall members on the ground, an indescribable pride rose in their hearts, and it also motivated all the Beautiful Robes Faction members, giving them another boost to their courage.

"Search for them! Don't let a single one of them escape!"

Countless people spread out through the forest on their own in search for any enemies who might have survived.

Class One Hall completely broke down.

The students from Beautiful Robes Faction had come in a never-ending stream to provide reinforcements, while since the start, Chief Promise Clouds and the twenty-five powerful elites that should have served as spiritual support had not showed up.
