“Kell? Are you okay?” she questioned.
“I just need you closer.” Bliss stepped closer to him. He groaned in relief and pulled her close to his body. His body was relaxing in her arms until he sniffed her neck. His body went bone straight, and he pulled her away from him. His eyes had gone wolf, and his canines were lowering slowly.
“What’s the matter?” Bliss asked.
“Why do you smell like Jaxson?” He growled.
“We--” But Kellan didn’t give her a chance to answer. He let out a howl and turned directly towards Jaxson who was walking to join the group. He stopped in his tracks.
“Oh, hell.” Jaxson cursed seeing the look on Kellan’s face. There was no time to explain. Kellan was charging at him, grabbing him by the shirt. Jaxson didn’t fight his alpha.
“Why the fuck were you touching my mate?” Kellan barked. He raised his fist ready to implant it into Jaxson’s face. All sense of friendship was gone. Having another male’s scent all over Bliss was a big no-no.
“I was teaching her how to use her body. Then we went for a run. That’s all.” Kellan didn’t sense a lie, but when he leaned in and sniffed Jaxson, he could smell Bliss’ scent on him, and that didn’t appease his wolf. He was ready to dig his claws into Jaxson’s neck when Bliss’ howl caught his attention. He turned to look at her, but he didn’t let go of Jaxson.
“You want him?” Kellan asked her.
“No!” Bliss yelled. She marched over to him. “Let Jaxson go.” Bliss didn’t know why she thought that would work. Kellan just snarled at her. She knew his wolf was more in control than he was. He dug his nails deeper into Jaxson’s throat.
“Fight back!” Bliss snapped at Jaxson, but she knew he wouldn’t fight his alpha. The only person that could get Kellan back to himself was her. Doing the only thing she could think of, she launched herself onto Kellan and kissed him feverishly. He let go of Jaxson immediately, but he was still angry. He pulled her off him, but kept hold of her wrists.
“Go wash off in the lake right now.” Kellan barked at Jaxson. Jaxson nodded and immediately turned to walk off. Bliss tried to pull away from Kellan, but he held taut.
“Oh, no. You’re not going nowhere,” he said evenly. He started dragging her towards the tents.
“Jayce! Show everyone around.” Kellan ordered. Jayce nodded. Bliss was forced to follow Kellan towards the tents. They went behind the cabin to the lone tent. It was larger than the rest and probably the one Kellan would stay in. He dragged her to the tent and forced her inside. He zipped them inside and glared down at her.
“Think this mating shit is funny?” he asked her.
“No!”
“So why the fuck would you be parading around with him close enough that his scent is on you? Do you know how fucking hard it is not to kill him right now? Bliss, you can’t play with this kind of shit that way.” She understood how he was being affected. He was angry, yes, but more so, his wolf was afraid. Afraid that he was losing her to another wolf.
“If I smelled like Rita, you’d be pissed the fuck off!” He pushed her onto the ground and hovered over her.
“I didn’t do it on purpose!” She spoke up. “I promise you!” Something snapped, and his control literally flew out of his body. With his claws, he shredded her jeans and ripped her panties clean off. Because she sensed his burning need, she wasn’t afraid. It wasn’t like how Maverick treated her. He was doing this because he wanted her more than his own body could control.
With her bottom half naked, he pressed her legs up above her head. He dug his nose into her hot folds. Down here there was no scent of Jaxson. It was all hers.
“Mine.” He growled looking up at her. Bliss’ legs were shaking with the impending release from the pit of her stomach. The moment he dipped his tongue into her folds, she exploded, cumming hard. She felt her wolf eyes glow as the pleasure radiated through her whole being. So, orgasms were more intense as a shifter?
Kellan slurped her juices, fucking her with his tongue as he swallowed her cum. Her body shook under his weight, and he loved the feel of it. She was fit perfectly for him. Perfect to be under him to receive his pleasure. He wrapped his tongue around her clit and sucked. He was careful of his canines not to nick her sensitive flesh. She was shaking so hard, Kellan had to stop licking her to check on her.
“Don’t you fucking dare!” She growled at him. Heeding her warning, Kellan dug back into his meal. Using the flat of his tongue, he licked under the hood of her clit slowly before using the tip of his tongue to play with her little nub. Her breathy moans were music to his ears. The smell of her cum had him bone straight in his jeans. He wrapped his lips around her, using the tip of his tongue to write out the alphabet. Her body jerked. Sensing she was on the edge of a large release, he moved his tongue and only used his lips to suck at her nub, popping her in and out of his mouth. She screamed his name, and she creamed all over his mouth. Kellan didn’t stop licking. He lapped up all her juices until her legs went limp. Moving away from her, he let her legs drop. She shivered as the orgasm left her. Bliss looked up slowly. Kellan’s eyes had returned back to normal, and his breathing was slowing down.
“Welcome back to earth, wolfman.” She breathed.
“Sorry,” he said. “But you kind of deserved that. Now you know. Stay the fuck away from other wolves.” He flashed his wolf eyes at her.
“I hear ya‘.” She sighed.
Chapter Thirteen
“They’re gone.” Levi informed Maverick the moment he came back to territory. Sure enough, half his pack was gone, and he’d lost his enforcers and his beta. He thought that taking over Kameron’s pack would give him what he wanted without him having to do all the hard work. But now, all that had landed him was whining ass pack members and she-wolves who didn’t know their place. Hera was the only she-wolf at his side.
“You’re my enforcer now,” Maverick said to Levi. “Those other enforcers only held their positions because the pack trusted them, but now, there’s hardly any pack, so you can take over.” Maverick looked over at Bliss’ father. They were doing business in town when all of this shit went down. Bryce wanted the bite so bad he was hanging around Maverick like a little tick.
“If I give you this bite, Bryce, you have to pledge yourself to me. You’re going to be my beta and serve me.”
“I told you I would give anything for the power! I let you kill my damn daughter over this, so give me the bite!” Maverick paced in his cave as he thought about what he was going to do.
“This isn’t going to be the pack that Kameron left behind. I’m forming a new pack with a new purpose.” Maverick looked at Bryce.
“I won’t give you the bite yet. You claim that you’d pledge yourself to me, but you have yet to prove yourself or earn the bite.”
“So, what the hell you want me to do?” Bryce asked.
“I don’t know yet,” Maverick replied. “But there is plenty coming our way, so don’t worry, your task will soon emerge.” Maverick stomped out of his cave and went to the center of the territory where the pack had their gatherings. Only four men were left. Maverick didn’t have to ask them why they stayed. He knew the looks they had in their eyes. It told him everything he needed to know.
“Rory, you and Levi are my enforcers. Will, you’ll be my researcher, and the rest of you will support whatever the hell I need. The pack Kameron had, is dead. We’re going to emerge as a new pack and the strongest pack known to man. We’re gonna get what we want, when we want, and the first on my list is Kellan and his so called pack. He’s the only one that will stop us, so he has to go first.”
“What exactly are we doing?” Levi asked.
“There will be no separate packs or territories. We’re gonna start a wolf revolution. I want to be the supreme alpha. All other alphas will get slaughtered, and their packs will become mine. Soon, I’ll have more pups than I can count ready to continue my legacy, and all of us will get anything we want. There’s no question about that.”r />
“When will we attack?” Rory asked.
“After the full moon. It’s too close, and Kellan will be too strong.”
“We can take him!” Rory exclaimed, but Maverick knew better. Kellan was a true alpha, which meant the closer they were to the full moon, the more powerful Kellan would be, and even if their strengths matched right now, the full moon would bring out Kellan’s full potential. Maverick did not want to go up against those odds, not when Kellan also had Jayce, Tristan, and Jaxson at his side.
“I said we wait.” Maverick ordered. “In the meantime, I need information about all the packs in the area and their alphas.”
“Well, what the hell am I gonna do?” Bryce asked.
“Get me some wolfsbane, and a lot of it.”
********
The new members Kellan had brought to his home were comfortable sharing his cabin. Thankfully, they were animals who loved the outdoors. Sleeping in tents was no problem for them, and it was Bliss who helped them to feel at home. The next morning, Kellan was awoken by the smell of blueberry pancakes. His eyes popped open, and he emerged from his tent. His skin was crawling again, and he’d had a restless night. If it weren’t for the fact that he could sense his pack sleeping quietly, he would have had a torturous night instead of just a restless night.
Before heading to the kitchen, Kellan slipped through the back door and went to his bedroom where he could take a shower and dress for the day. His room was filled with scents, but Bliss’ scent outweighed everyone else’s. Her arousal was laced on top of her scent driving his wolf crazy. Remembering the taste of her pussy made him growl. It wasn’t just his arousal, it was anger that his scent wasn’t blended in with hers. He wanted to share that with her, and he knew if he was feeling this way, then so was she.
Still feeling the anger of his wolf at the mating bond situation, Kellan showered and dressed. He went through the house and into the large kitchen where everyone was sitting and having their meal. Kellan was not used to the greeting he received when he entered, but as alpha, you didn’t just walk into a room and not receive a greeting. He nodded and smiled at everyone before stopping at the elderly and personally checking on them. After chatting with them, he sat at an empty seat around the island. The moment he sat down, Bliss dropped a large pile of pancakes in front of him. She smiled at him before going to fetch syrup and a large glass of iced tea.
“You okay?” she whispered in his ear.
“Sure.” He shrugged. Bliss knew he wasn’t being honest. Her wolf told her so. Thinking about how she was connecting with her wolf, she looked towards Jaxson. Kellan saw her look at the other man, and his wolf pushed at him. He stood abruptly. Jaxson saw the killer look on his alpha’s face and made himself scarce. He left out of the kitchen before Kellan could attack him again.
“Bliss, stop it,” Rita whispered.
“I’m not doing anything!” She looked at Kellan and saw his wolf eyes beaming back at her. He was breathing deeply, and he looked like he was on the verge of snapping, but Bliss didn’t back down from him. She threw her alpha vibes at him. She didn’t know what exactly she was hoping to achieve, but his eyes returned to normal. He leaned back and looked her up and down as if he couldn’t believe she was throwing her alpha vibes at him. Kellan sure enough got the idea of killing Jaxson out of his mind by her actions, so she succeeded in that. Like it was a game they were playing, Kellan retaliated and threw his alpha vibes back at her. She backed up, but she didn’t back down. It was just more fire added to the flame that they were an alpha pair. With an ‘umph’, Kellan sat back down and continued eating his breakfast. Bliss moved away from him with Rita at her side.
“You’re gonna get Jaxson killed if you don’t tread lightly. In fact, you’re gonna get any male killed if you don’t watch what the hell you’re doing.”
“I told you I didn’t do anything! It’s not my fault that Kellan can’t control himself. What? Does he think I’m gonna be walking around sleeping with the pack or something?”
“That’s not the issue, Bliss! You attacked me every chance you got because you believed I was after Kellan. You didn’t know why you were doing it, but it was just your instincts to do so! Kellan’s need to mate with you is going to get too strong, and once it hits that point, his will be out of control, and if he feels like he’s losing his mate to anyone, he’ll do whatever it takes to eliminate that threat, and I mean anything. I don’t expect you to understand because you weren’t born wolf, Bliss, but I’m telling you now. Watch yourself. The simplest thing can mean so much to a wolf who’s found their mate. Looking at Jaxson, although innocent, will trigger Kellan, wspecially since his scent was all over you.” Bliss looked over at Kellan. Her skin began crawling again, and she groaned in discomfort.
“You feel uncomfortable. Imagine how he feels.”
“What should I do?” Bliss asked. Kellan was getting up and leaving his dish in the sink. Without looking at her, he left the kitchen and walked out of the cabin.
“Just let him feel your presence. If you stick around him, his wolf will be soothed enough not to start lashing out at everyone.”
“Okay.” Bliss sighed. She could understand what Rita was trying to tell her, but at the same time, she was worried that Kellan would forever be angry because she wasn’t looking to be his mate. She didn’t think she could handle being tied down to another man right this moment, especially when she had this new lease on life.
Outside on the porch, Kellan was leaning against one of the posts sipping on a cup of coffee. She had no idea who’d given it to him.
“Who gave you that?” she asked him.
“Kyra,” he answered. She wanted to slap the cup out of his hands and go make him a new cup of coffee and give it to him. It was then she realized how crazy it was that she wanted to act that way. It just made her understand even more that this mating bond drove you to do the craziest things. She stepped in front of him and leaned her back against him. In her mind, her wolf rolled over and wagged it’s tail happily. Kellan breathed a sigh of relief but didn’t say anything.
“If you wanted coffee, I could have gotten it for you,” Bliss said.
“I didn’t ask her for it, she offered it to me, and I took it.” Bliss looked up at him.
“Just let me prepare your meals and get you coffee and other things to drink,” she said
“I see.” He nodded understanding her need.
“I’m sorry for triggering you into a rage again. I wasn’t paying attention to my actions. I thought after yesterday, you understood that me and Jaxson didn’t have anything going on.”
“It’s not about what I know, Bliss. My wolf works off of action. He sees you doing something, and he responds. Even if I tell him it’s no big deal, it’s a big deal to him, so in the end, he makes his presence known, and I can’t really fight it. You know Kyra isn’t the least bit interested in me, and the thought that she brought me coffee makes your wolf upset. It’s the same thing.” Bliss took a deep breath enveloping herself in his scent.
Jayce, Tristan, and Jaxson approached the cabin from the woods. They were walking with purpose and talking amongst themselves.
“Hey,” Jayce said greeting Bliss. Bliss nodded at him and avoided eye contact because she didn’t want to upset Kellan.
“Ready for the meeting?” Kellan asked his beta. Jayce nodded. “I’ll be back, Bliss.”
“Wait, where you goin’?”
“Just around back so we can talk.”
“If it’s a pack meeting, then I want in on it. You call me an alpha female.”
“Yes, you are, but until you mate me, sweetie, then we’re not an alpha pair, which means you don’t really have to be in the meeting.” Bliss crossed her arms not liking his tone.
“Watch over the others while I’m gone,” he said handing her the coffee cup. He kissed her cheek before stepping down from the porch and following his officers to the back of the cabin.
“We all know Maverick is going to come sn
iffing around here,” Tristan said. “We just don’t know when, and truthfully, when he does come, we know he’s coming for a fight.”
“Which is why we need to find our new location,” Kellan said. “Gemma is due for puberty soon, and Bliss is supposed to transition by next week. The both of them need a safe place to shift for the first time. We can’t be worried about Maverick showing up at any time.”
“We can’t bank on finding a location right now, so we just need to be prepared for Maverick at all times.” Kellan nodded.
“As for the others, Kell, I found a couple packs not too far away that are willing and able to take in some of the wolves who want a safer place to live. With the beef with you and Maverick are gonna have, hardly any of them feel safe.”
“I don’t blame them.” Kellan sighed. “I’ll delve into the papers you had from my father, Tristan. Each of us are going to take turns on security duty around the perimeter in wolf form. Whoever’s not on duty is still to keep on high alert for everyone on the grounds. No one should go anywhere unaccounted for.”
“Might I add that I think it’s beneficial the members of the pack that will stay with us learn to defend themselves.” Jaxson spoke up. “I’m mainly talking about Rita, Kyra, Gemma, and Bliss. It’s imperative now more than ever that the she-wolves know what they could go up against, and I will feel better if they learned basics.”
“I agree,” Tristan said. Kellan nodded approving his enforcer’s notion.
“I’ll leave you in charge of that,” Kellan said. “Tristan, take the first security shift. In two hours, switch out with Jayce, then I’ll take the next shift, and Jaxson will take the last shift.’
“Actually, Kellan, we’ll split the shifts up between the three of us. The alpha needs to be around his pack sociably. We’ll take care of the security,” Jayce said.
“But--”
“He’s right, you know.” Tristan chuckled.
“Fine.” Kellan sighed. “Meeting adjourned, or whatever it is I’m supposed to say.” Jayce and Tristan laughed at him as they walked away. Jaxson stayed put however.
