“We should try to get away for a while, maybe take a vacation.”

  Sabre smiled. “I’d like that.”

They sat there watching the family intermingle. Harley started barbequing and Beverly helped him. Eddie put his daughter on the zip line Pinpaw had made for the kids, and her mother retrieved her at the end. Mandy giggled with delight as she flew through the air.

Ron and Chloe sat chatting on the deck.

JP and Sabre walked toward the grill. “Ever think about having kids of your own?” JP asked.

Sabre shuffled back a step, then regained her composure. “Maybe. Possibly,” she said, “Someday.” She paused. “You?”

“I could take to that like a hog to persimmons.”
