Craved By An Alien Savage (Kutarian Warriors Book 3)
Page 13
In one direction there are fields and hills as far as I can see and large groups of trees and forests to the north. On the other side of the worn path are open expanses of scattered trees and bushes and a few more densely populated groves. Since we can see pretty far on the clear side and there's no side of raptors or Drek, we dive further into the trees.
At first, we can move at a good clip, but as the trees get thicker, we have to slow down. Calina is not happy about it.
“We’ve got this, mama. That asshole won’t get away.”
She snorts as she dodges trees, pushing her limits. The grass is too thick beneath us for tracks, but I hope Calina can at least smell a hint of our thief.
After another few seconds of picking through the grove, the trees part and we break into a clearing. Sunlight beats down at us, blinding me for a moment. I feel Calina’s sides expand in what I can only assume is a levadon-like gasp before my eyes even adjust. Drek and Rhux are ahead of us in the field, dashing toward the next grove of pink and purple trees.
Drek points his spear at it. We’re close.
Just before we reach the trees, the raptor with the pup leaps out, still at a dead run and passes right in between us. Calina shrieks as both levadon turn on their tails and change direction.
She catches the raptor first, grabbing it by the tail. It screams and hits the dirt at high speed. She’s on him like the apex predator she is, big feet going in to crush as she lets go for another bite. Every point of my body is buzzing in fear and adrenaline as I gather myself, leap off her back, and remove myself from the fray.
The baby’s tumbled out of the thief's grip and rolls over the grass. The raptor claws and fights Calina from the ground, no longer concerned with the pup, and I rush to get to it.
Rhux roars beside me as the two other raptors jump out to intercept the pup. He's on their heels in a flash. He chases them toward the trees, leaving the baby and me alone in the grass.
Unfortunately, raptors are ridiculously fast, and another runs by to scoop it up before I have the chance.
I gasp aloud and clench my jaw. There are four?
No time for worrying. I curse the beast as I dig my feet into the ground and chase after it.
Except I give it an extra filthy oath when I realize I’ve seen it before.
Part of its blue crest is torn and the side of its face is busted from its run-in with Rhux. It's the raptor that attacked me in the pit.
I'm overcome with a wave of determined anger to get this baby back, as well as an inkling of fear. This raptor has looked into my eyes and tried to kill me before. I don't particularly want to chance him again.
But I won’t let him get away with this pup.
He’s pulling ahead, so I snag a big stick from the ground and whip it toward his face. It whizzes by and hits a tree in front of him, exploding in a crack of splinters. The raptor dodges hard to one side, jumping back in surprise. It gives me just enough time to cover the distance and lunge out, grabbing his back leg before he’s out of reach again.
The raptor screeches and snarls as I haul back on its leg and it tumbles to the ground. I don’t know where the pup is, but the beast’s hands are empty when it turns to attack me. It rips its leg out of my fingers and throws its body into me.
The world turns upside down as I hit the grass and the monster leaps on top of me. Its feet hit the ground on either side of me. Its snapping teeth are in my face. Flashes of the first night it attacked me bombard me as I grab its jaws, pushing them back. My legs scramble to keep its feet away from me. One rip with one of those oversized claws would be the end of me.
“Leave me alone!” I cry, tears stinging my eyes.
I can’t believe I caught the running raptor, but my reward will be death. I don’t know how fast levadon babies are but I hope it gets away. If only I can stall this thing long enough for Calina or Drek to find the pup.
My hands twist around the raptor’s teeth and lips, careful not to cut my fingers. The animal snarls and fights my grip as my hands pull its face in unnatural directions. It leans into me to relieve the pressure, trying to shake its head and rip it away.
It's then that I remember I'm not the helpless human the beast attacked last time. I'm twice the size and stronger than ever. I grit my teeth and twist with my hands again. The jawbones bend and pull. The raptor screams, digging at me with its claws, but I throw my feet up onto its thigh bones. I push down through my legs and arch up, keeping myself well out of reach of the raptor's claws. It thrashes angrily with a bellow, trying to get out of my dirty trap. But I am strong.
The jaws snap together, though off-center under my hands, and the raptor pushes himself at me again. He's relentless and I growl at him. He starts to snarl back when an even bigger sound answers.
The ground trembles, then shakes, as Rhux returns. Drek calls out a warrior’s shout as they ride by and he swings his spear at the raptor. It strikes him hard in the chest, sending him sprawling to the ground. I scramble away and to my feet. The creature collapses and goes still.
“Thank the Lord,” I groan and look around.
The pup is a few feet away, watching with big eyes. I run to it and wrap my arms around its baby neck. Then I look for Drek.
Rhux is standing over the last of the raptors, using his big mouth in horrible, bone-crunching ways, and the brave Kutarian warrior approaches me.
“Is it hurt?” he asks.
His chest moves with his labored breaths. His bicep bulges under the weight of his spear before he props it on the ground. Everything about him is breathtaking, especially after a fight. I should be focusing on the matter at hand, but the pup is safe and Drek is standing there...like that.
I draw a slow breath, letting my eyes wander to their hearts’ desire.
"He seems fine," I murmur, finally moving my gaze back up to his. "Just shaken up."
Drek crosses the grass to me and takes my hands. “Are you alright?” he murmurs.
“I’m not hurt,” I breathe. “I’m just glad we got him back.”
His hand brushes my face and he leans in to capture my lips in a quick, hot kiss. “I’m glad you’re unhurt, my brave Eva. Calina and Rhux owe you the life of their pup.”
My blood warms and I smile against his lips. “And I owe you mine, over and over.”
“You take care of yourself well, little flower. You have no debt to me.”
I slide my hands along the leather strap on his chest, using it to pull him closer. “Even so, you did encourage my decision to stay here. Making the swap has certainly saved my life. And made me happier. You can sentence me with no debt, but I intend to spend the rest of my life showing you my appreciation just the same.”
He looks down at me and the side of his mouth tilts in a wicked grin. “I do not harbor any disappointment toward this arrangement.”
I snicker as I pull him closer still. “Perfect, because I think it’s the best idea I’ve ever had.”
He laughs, and the sound sending butterflies straight to my stomach.
“I must agree,” he murmurs as his knuckles brush over my cheekbone. “I love your sharp mind as much as I love you.”
The butterflies spread out and cover all my insides. From the tips of my toes right up to my nose, and I smile.
“I love you too.”
One of his arms drapes over my shoulder and we escort the pup across the field to Calina. She stands erect, nostrils blowing. Her mouth and legs are stained red, but I can’t feel bad for the other guy. I’m glad she got rid of it. That all of them are gone.
The female levadon makes a loud whistling coo. The pup wriggles free of my arms and runs to its mother. Rhux joins us, even more smeared with blood. And despite the pup being grabbed up in the raptor's clawed hands, none of the levadon seem to have any serious injuries. A few scratches that don't seem to be a bother.
The three of them come together with a mix of rumbles and soft squawks. It’s adorable.
When Calina begins to look restless
, we mount up to go back. Drek pulls me up onto Rhux’s back in front of him and we ride back at a quick but relaxed pace. A few levadon have wandered back to see what the commotion’s been, but there’s no sign of lingering baby snatchers. Thank the Lord.
Upon reaching the pit, we find the Kutarians and second pup hanging around the cave entrance. Everyone jumps up when they see us and the baby runs out to meet its excited mother. Trinity and Gemma make a cute fuss over the returned pup while Drek and I beam down at them. I feel accomplished and whole.
The male reaches up to grasp Drek’s arm in some sort of warrior handshake and smiles up at us. “Welcome home.”
Even as my chest swells with love, Drek tightens his hold around my waist. It feels perfect, because it’s true.
I am home.
Epilogue
Eva
My fingers dig into the stone in front of me as soft water mist hits my face and Drek’s hands grasp harder around my hips. My lips part around another moan as he drives that cock deep inside me. I can’t believe the ridges along the top can feel even better, but entering from behind is something else. My body clenches down on them like it’ll never let go, and holy cow, does it feel good.
Each time he thrusts into me, my face rocks closer to the waterfall in front of me. Thousands of gallons rushing by every second, a dull roar that’s soothing. Though I may always associate the sound with hiding out for private time with Drek now.
I stick out my tongue to catch the water droplets as my warrior growls and hammers into me. The sex has only gotten better and better over the last week. In our big bed in what used to be his bachelor hut. In our quiet cave down in the pit. Once in one of the purple groves while taking a break from my riding lesson with Calina. The levadon and I have bonded strongly too, but Drek and I couldn't resist letting the dinos wander off for a while we stripped each other down beneath the canopy.
My body’s on fire and my time is coming. It’s always explosive and amazing. Drek knows just how to get me there, and I love the sounds he makes when he gets his too.
He grunts my name and my ears swivel back to catch every last delicious sound of his voice. It’s perfect. He’s perfect. And, oh Lord, he feels so fucking good.
My hips push back into his as his body tightens. My blood is boiling so hot that sweat dots my brows, even with the cool waterfall touching my cheeks.
It had just been an innocent swim in the river outside the village. Naked.
With a little distraction.
My muscles clench when he slams into me. I cry out as the heat melts and explodes in my abdomen. I crash back against his hips, demanding every inch of him as I catch fire. He groans aloud as he fucks me harder, his body snapping in release as well.
When it’s over, I sag across the stone I’ve been leaning on, in a euphoric daze.
“This is what you meant by checking fish traps, right?” I murmur lazily with a smile.
Drek snorts a chuckle as he taps my ass and slides free of my body. “There are traps down there we need to empty still.”
I snicker and smile over my shoulder. “I’m glad we did the fun part first.”
He leans over and wraps his arms around me, pulling me up to standing against him. “I’ll take the fun part over food any day.”
It’s like he can read my mind. I lean my head back against his shoulder and he covers my mouth in a kiss.
“Although, I suppose we’ll get in trouble with Waella again if we don’t bring back food for dinner,” he says with a devilish smile.
“Aw, fine,” I pout playfully with a tail-flick. “Let’s get a move on.”
We straighten our clothes and slip out from behind the waterfall.
The healer was quite irritated with us the last time we didn't get food back in time for dinner to be prepared, and I'm trying to fit into my new tribe here. I should make more of an effort to help out, rather than just running off with my new mate.
My heart stumbles a beat as I smile. It still feels good to even think it.
Drek, my sexy warrior mate.
Never in a million years would I have thought I’d end up on another planet, marrying an alien man and having his babies. But now that I’m here, it feels like it’s just something that’s always been missing.
I suppose I was just destined to be crazy.
A valued Kutarian animal healer that just so happens to be crazy in love.

A new alien abduction series is coming soon! Keep your eyes peeled! Updates will be given in my newsletter and on my Facebook page!
I love the mismatch of cultures in humans and aliens, but I also love the idea of becoming someone different. Having to adapt and make sacrifices for the one that you love. With this series I dove into women adapting for their aliens. In my next series, I’ll be exploring human women that have everything a sexy alien could hope for. I can’t wait!
If you enjoyed the third book of the Kutarian Warriors series, please leave a review.
