Hope stayed quiet. We all knew what this meant. Either her mother was resurrected and brought back from the dead or.

Francesca said what everyone else wasn’t willing to. “She wasn’t killed. She was turned.”

  Chapter 48: Hope

Everything I knew was a lie. I felt like I didn't even know my mother anymore. It was enough that she kept the truth from me about who she really was. But to find out that she’s been out there all this time. It was devastating.

I was so angry with her. She was alive and she never even came for me. No letters, no phone calls. Nothing. How could she do that? I thought I was everything to her.

I guess she wasn’t who I thought she was. That, or she was like Kane and being a vampire changed her completely. It turned her into a monster like him.

Only tonight, she saved me from Kane. And when she touched me, God it felt like when I was a little girl and she would sneak into my room to watch me sleep. She’d rub my hair back and I would pretend to still be asleep.

She was still in there. The mother I knew was in there. I just had to find her.

When I got home, I took a long hot shower before heading to my room. I already put my pajamas on in the bathroom. I stopped outside of my bedroom door. I could sense someone was in my room. And I knew exactly who it was.

I opened the door and walked to my hamper to throw my laundry in. “Go home Wyatt.”

  “You were incredibly stupid tonight.”

I glared at him. “You don’t think I know that already?”

“I’m sure you do. I just wanted to make sure you knew I thought so too.”

  “Get out.”

I turned around to hang up my towel when he spoke again. “Are you alright?”

I stayed turned. I knew looking at him might cause me to cry again. I cried enough in the shower. I was doing that a lot these days. I had never been such a crier before I came to Salem Point. “I’m fine.”

  “Hope, I know you’re hurt.”

“I’m not hurt. I’m pissed. She was out there and she just forgot about me.”

“She was probably protecting you. Not everyone handles being a vampire well. It’s one of the reasons Christian eats bunnies and look at Kane. He’s apparently the Prince of Darkness.”

I turned around to face him. “I want to find her.”

“I think that’s a bad idea, but if that’s what you want, I’ll help you.”

I looked into his eyes. The eyes I could never manage to look away from. They made my heart melt into nothingness. They were breathtaking. He was breathtaking.

“There’s something else I need your help with.”

  “What’s that?”

I closed the distance between us and pressed my lips against his. He pulled back right away. “What are you doing?”

I touched his lips. They were so soft. “Wyatt, I want to activate my werewolf side.”

He furrowed his eyebrows. “Shouldn’t you do that with the puppy next door?”

I sighed. I didn’t want him to think he was my second choice. The truth was, I felt just as connected to him as I did Knight and Christian. It was a different kind of connection. Wyatt wasn’t the romantic that they were. But still, when he looked at me and when I looked at him, the entire world stood still.

“Right now I want to be with you.”

  “Hope.”

He could tell I wasn’t telling him everything. Rich coming from him. “Knight doesn’t want to be a werewolf yet.”

He smiled and nodded his head. “Got it.”

“But that doesn’t mean I’m just running to you because Knight doesn’t want to. I need to activate my werewolf side. And I’d like it to be with someone I trust.”

  “How about Christian?”

I giggled. “If you don’t want to be with me Wyatt, you can just say so. You don’t have to go down the list of other people I can…”

Wyatt’s lips crashed into mine. He moved me back into the wall and kissed me passionately.

When we pulled apart from each other, his lips were a light red color and we were both panting for air.

I never kissed anyone like that before. No one ever kissed me like that before.

I felt this desire building up inside of me. I didn’t just want to be with Wyatt anymore. I needed to be with Wyatt.

I pulled his shirt over his head. His abs were so defined. I ran my hands over them as my hands found the button of his pants. I unbuttoned them before he spun us around and brought me to my bed.

He pulled my tank top over my head. His eyes turned dark with desire as he stared down at my naked chest. His eyes met mine. “Hope, are you sure?”

  “I’m sure, Wyatt.”

  Chapter 49: Kane

Hope’s mother was stronger than I realized. All those years with my father did her well. Too bad she made the wrong choice tonight. She chose a side, only it was the wrong one. If you weren’t with us, you were against us and she was clearly against us.

A message had to be sent. Especially now that Melinda wanted to play mommy dearest all of a sudden.

Hope had to know that we would always be in control. I would always be one step ahead of her. And if she didn’t comply, more of the people she cared about were going to die.

I wasn’t going anywhere. I was staying right here in Salem Point. So long as she was here, I would be too. I knew she was going to be watched like a hawk now. So the message had to be clear as day. I meant business, and I would kill every single person in her life until she realized that.

I watched Jade leave the diner. She had her backpack on as she walked home. I followed her far behind until she was in a dark area away from the street. She walked through the park. It was a shortcut to her home. Gutsy for a human walking through a park alone at night. Her naivety made my life easier.

  “Hi Jade.”

Jade jumped. She turned around and when she saw me, she relaxed. She remembered me. “Hey. You scared the hell out of me.”

  “Sorry about that.”

  “You’re Hope’s friend right? Kane, I think.”

“Very good memory. I need you to give her a message for me.”

She smiled and nodded her head. “Okay, what’s the message?”

  “You.”

I ran forward and bit her neck. I covered her mouth to muffle the screams coming from her mouth. I hated when they screamed in my ears.

I drank until I felt her body go limp in my arms. I released her and let her body drop to the ground.

  Let the games begin Hope.

Finding Hope: Bloodmoon Series Book 3

I have been stuck in the house for the last five months. No school. No diner. No anything. After Kane turned all monster on me, Gemma decided it was safer for me to stay in the house where he couldn’t get to me. Especially after what he did. We all knew it was him. He took her.

I had no idea what he did to Jade. There were so many questions that needed answers. Where was Jade? Was she alive or did he kill her? And where the hell was Kane? I knew he was still around Salem Point, waiting for me. My best friend was now my greatest enemy.

There was another huge question. Why didn’t I turn into a werewolf yet?

I had sex. And when it didn’t seem to work, I had sex again. Still, there had been countless full moons and I still hadn’t turned.

Caleb was definitely my father, so why wasn’t it working? Unfortunately, the only person that might have answers to that question was a master at not being found.

I had to find my mother. She was the only person that could tell me what the hell was wrong with my powers. I had to be fixed, or I would never be able to protect myself.
