Double the Mayhem

“They’re my sons, Princess. My love for them is unconditional. If Major gets home and decides he wants to wear nothing but tutus, I’ll buy him a different color for every day of the week. If Marshall were to tell me he was in love with Remy, I’d give him my blessing. I know bikers have a stigma of being homophobic assholes, but that’s not me. It’s not the Hounds’ way. Yes, we’re mercenaries, but we only rid the world of those who don’t deserve to walk among the innocent. We were created to protect. To love. And I love those two boys with my whole heart, the same way I love you.”
“I love you as much. I know I’m not their mother, but I want to be. I want them to know they are cherished every single day. And I promise you, I’m going to be there for them, for you, until my dying breath.”
“In that case, I think your last name should be Lazlo, too.”
“Are... Are you asking me—”
“Will you marry me and adopt our boys?”
“Yes. Yes!” Natalia giggled and slid her body over Mav’s, straddling his lap. “You know, we’re going to need to practice being quiet while we have sex. We don’t want to wake them up every night with our lovemaking.”
Maveryck’s dick liked the sound of that. It also liked the feel of her ass pressing down on it. “Is that right?” Natalia smiled, sliding her slick folds back and forth. “Then I guess we commence to practicing.” Maveryck lifted her hips and slid inside. They found out it was going to take a lot of practice to learn to be quiet.
Chapter Thirty-Three
Maveryck
Laughter coming from the living room had Maveryck bounding down the stairs. The joy their sons found in Natalia’s love was something he never wanted to get used to. She kept her promise, and every day, Natalia showered both boys with all the love she had to give. Thankfully, she had plenty to share with Mav, too.
The last month hadn’t been without its trials, but those had nothing to do with the four of them. Everyone in the family was vying for time with the twins. Maveryck understood his parents and brothers wanting to spend time with them, but damnit, he did too. If he had been part of their lives for the first four years, he might not be as hesitant in letting them go for sleepovers. When anyone asked for a night with the boys, Mav would open his mouth to say no, but his Princess was there to remind him they could use the time to not worry about being quiet.
The sex had only gotten better as they discovered all the different ways to please one another. Natalia had been hesitant at giving blowjobs, but her enthusiasm made up for her lack of experience. Now, if her mouth got anywhere near his dick, he struggled not to blow his load in the first fifteen seconds. She was that good. Or maybe it was because it was her. Maveryck never expected to love Natalia as much as he did. It was as wonderful as it was humbling.
Natalia not only put everything she had into their sex life, but she was doing everything she could to become the perfect mate and mother. She watched video after video to learn how to cook delicious meals, and she was getting good at it. When they ate with his parents, Natalia spent her time in the kitchen with Rory to watch how his mom made each dish. Rory had warmed up to his little Russian assassin as soon as she learned how Natalia had given most of her family’s money over to their cause. Respect was hard won from Aurora Lazlo, but not when it came to his Princess.
Jenna had emailed photos of the boys, and together, he and Natalia chose quite a few to print off and frame. Those pictures, along with new ones of all four of them were added to the myriad of family photos around the house. Maveryck’s favorite picture was a drawing Hayden had done of their little family. It was framed and had the place of honor over the fireplace.
Instead of Maveryck taking Natalia shopping like he promised, Lucy and Kerrigan intruded for a girls’ day out as soon as War had returned with the twins. They even included McKenzie in their shopping spree. Usually Mac chose to hide out at Ryker’s because of the scar on her face, but she was getting more comfortable with the others’ encouragement. While the females were raiding the mall, Mav and his brothers took the boys swimming at Lucy’s, with Tamian joining them. Natalia had met some of the other mates, the ones with smaller kids. She took the twins for playdates, and their boys were thriving. Having friends there in New Troy meant they didn’t miss the Stone Society kids as much.
Natalia had talked to Sutton about her family’s estate. She offered it to him and Rory to use for those people they rescued from the cults as a temporary place until they found something permanent. Since it was three hours away from New Troy, Sutton asked if she’d be willing to sell it so they could build something closer to home. So, that’s what she did. Rafael Stone was the premier architect in all the States, and he had agreed to design the new home when he and Kaya brought their baby, Sebastian, for a visit. When the house was being cleaned out so the furnishings could be offered in an estate sale, Natalia had gone through the office first to gather anything Sutton could use to take down all Anatoly’s contacts, including her ledgers. The estate sold for upwards of nine million, and that went a long way in building the new halfway house.
When Natalia was going through the house, she noticed Marta’s things were gone. Mav had Lucy look through security footage to see if she had been at the house the day they took out Natalia’s cousins. She hadn’t been, but when Marta did return, there had been nobody there. Lucy tracked the woman down and found her, along with a toddler, living in Connecticut with her sister. Ryker paid Marta a visit to “convince” her to forget everything she knew about the Volkovs, but not before he inquired as to the toddler’s identity. Marta admitted the little girl was one Anatoly had his men kidnap as part of his trafficking business. Marta hid the child because the girl was so young, and had taken her to her sister’s after Anatoly was killed. When Ryker asked why she hadn’t returned the child, she said she didn’t want to go to jail. In the end, Ryker told Marta to call the police and admit to everything.
Mav told Natalia about seeing the amber alert and then stepping on a little shoe when he went looking for Natalia in the beginning. Ryker hung around Connecticut until the authorities showed up and the child was returned to her family.
Maveryck had so many days he would never forget that he stopped adding them to his list. Every day with his mate and their boys was one to remember. His home was filled with the sounds of laughter, the scent of wildflowers, and the taste of cake at least once a week.
Now, the Hounds were going on their group ride. It had taken a month to make it happen, mostly because Maveryck had a surprise for his family. He and Natalia had taken to backroads on those days and nights the boys were visiting his family. She was a natural riding behind him, and when he asked if she wanted to learn to ride her own bike, she declined, stating how much she loved riding with him. She enjoyed looking at the scenery and pressing against him, holding on tight.
Hayden had been working his ass off to get their surprise ready, and now it was. He was on his way with it. The twins knew about the group ride and were excited about sleeping in the woods. Mav explained they would be in a tent, and he even set up a small one in the backyard so they knew what to expect. They loved it so much they begged to go camping every night, even if it was just out the back door.
“Lolly!”
“Major!”
Major giggled every time she responded that way.
“How many more sleeps?”
“Just one more. Tomorrow when we wake up, we’ll eat breakfast then meet everyone else.”
Both twins jumped up and yelled, “Yay,” doing the little butt-wiggle dance. Natalia jumped up and mimicked them. When she grinned at Maveryck, he strode through the room and wiggled his ass right alongside them.
“Daddo!”
“Marshall!” Mav called back, picking up his quieter son and twirling him around. They might look identical, but their personalities were completely different. Major was wide open from the time his feet hit the floor until he went to bed. Marshall had his moments where he was as boisterous, but most of the tim
e, he sat and observed those around him.
When he placed Marshall on his feet, Mav told them, “I have a surprise for you.”
“What is it?” Major asked, jumping up and down.
“Go look out the front window. Uncle Hayden’s on his way with it.” The twins ran to the window, pulling the curtain aside so they had an unobstructed view.
“What did you do?” Natalia wrapped her arms around his waist and set her chin to his chest, giving him her chocolate gaze.
“You’ll have to wait and see.” He kissed her forehead and hugged her tight. Holding his mate was one of his favorite things in the world. Right up there with playing with the twins and making love.
“He’s here! He’s here!” The boys ran to the door, but Mav had to go unlock it. After finding the boys playing in the front yard when they were supposed to be sleeping in, Mav had installed a dead bolt toward the top of the door. One day, they would figure out they could reach it by climbing on a chair, but for now, it kept them safely locked inside. Mav took Natalia’s hand and led them outside where Hayden was climbing off a new Harley Ultra. Mav kept his Dyna for when it was just him and his mate, but a family of four needed more room, thus the shiny, black sidecar attached to the touring bike.
“Daddo! Look! Uncle Hayden has a side cart!” Major exclaimed. Mav had given up explaining it was a sidecar.
Marshall looked up, his eyes wide. “Is that our side cart?”
“It sure is. Now we can all ride together.” Major bounded down the steps, lunging at his uncle, knowing Hayden would catch him.
Marshall tugged on Mav’s jeans. “You’re the best Daddo in the whole world.”
Mav’s eyes burned, but he blinked a few times to keep the tears at bay. That was the best praise Mav had ever received, and he didn’t take it lightly. He picked Marshall up, snuggling him close. “And you and Major are the best sons in the whole world. I love you, Buddy.”
“Marsh! Come look!” Major yelled.
“I love you too.” Marshall didn’t wiggle to get down. As excited as he was to see the bike, he never rushed to get out of hugs. Maveryck placed a kiss on his son’s blond head and set him on his feet. Marshall grabbed Natalia’s hand. “Let’s go look.”
Mav had picked out the factory-painted bike, so he was surprised when Natalia pointed at the gas tank. “Hayden, did you do this?”
Maveryck looked at his brother who wouldn’t meet his eyes. When Mav saw the specialized paint job, he found it hard to swallow. Instead of being solid black with red pin stripes, there was a Gryphon with gold wings covering the portion of the tank below the gas cap. When he looked closer, he noticed a crown sitting atop the eagle’s head.
“What’s it say?” Major asked, pointing to the cursive writing.
Natalia squatted down. “That’s your name and Marshall’s name,” she said, pointing to each one as she identified them.
“There’s more over here,” Maveryck said. Natalia and the twins walked around the bike. They couldn’t get as close because of the sidecar, but she leaned over and pointed to the two names. “This says Mayhem, and that one’s Lollipop.”
Hayden rubbed his hand through his hair and sheepishly indicated there was something on the outside of the sidecar. Mav raised his eyebrows, and when he walked to where his baby brother was standing, he wrapped his arm around Hayden’s neck. The words “Double the Mayhem” adorned the boys’ ride in a funky, cool font.
“That’s perfect,” he said. “Thank you, Brother.”
Before Mav had time to get too emotional, several bikes and an SUV pulled up to the curb. Rory climbed out of the vehicle as Sutton, Kyllian, Ryker, and War, who was doubling Kerrigan, shut off their bikes. Sutton climbed off Hayden’s Harley, smiling.
“What do you think?” his dad asked.
“I think we need to take it out for a spin. What do you say boys? Wanna test out your sidecar?”
“Yeah!” they shouted, wiggling their butts. The adults laughed at the two youngest Lazlos.
“Let’s go grab our helmets,” Natalia told the boys.
While they waited on his little family, Mav asked his dad, “Where’s your ride?”
“Right there,” Sutton responded, thumbing in Rory’s direction. “We’ve got some shopping to do, but we’ll meet y’all bright and early in the morning.” Sutton clapped Mav on the shoulder.
When Natalia and the boys returned, he helped Major with his helmet, while Natalia fastened Marshall’s on. Maveryck lifted the boys into their tricked-out sidecar and buckled them in.
“Ready to test out your new ride, Princess?”
“I’m ready.” Natalia climbed on behind Maveryck and relaxed against the wrap-around seat. Maveryck knew getting the bigger bike meant Natalia wouldn’t be wrapped around him like she usually was, but as he pulled down the driveway next to Ryker, she placed her hands on his waist. With his boys and his mate riding with him, Maveryck Lazlo rode the wind, and he didn’t need his eagle to do it.
The End
A Note From The Author
This was such a fun book to write. I’ve known about the twins for a long time. When they first came to me, they both were these rambunctious balls of energy, but Marshall quickly let me know he had a softer heart. I also intended for Natalia to keep working, but she let me know right away that wasn’t happening. Yes, the characters have their own minds, and I always listen.
Next up in this series is Ryker’s story, and I can’t wait to meet his mate. She is going to be something special. Someone who can pull Ryker out of his past. Release date is August 8th. Preorder coming soon.
