The Viper enjoyed toying with me, running his fingers all over my body. I could hear his heavy breathing as he inched behind me. When he shoved a finger into my asshole, I bit back a snarl, doing everything I could to remain emotionless. I was still frozen, unable to fight back, even though vile and nasty things brought murderous images into my mind.

He thrust his finger in and out, violating me brutally, his wild grunts a clear sign that he was enjoying his task.

“All the fight is gone from you now, or it better be,” Sergeant Sykes stated knowingly, shifting even closer in order to get an up close and personal view of the beast assaulting me.

  Fuck him.

I refused to fall into this bullshit, doing everything I could to move a single muscle. I was finally able to lift a single finger, then a second, finally managing to shift one foot backward. And all the while, the Viper continued to fondle me, one hand twisting my already bruised nipple while he’d added two more fingers in his efforts to finger fuck my ass.

Anger flared the beast’s nostrils and he fisted my hair, holding me in place as he crawled his fingers down my stomach.

  Oh, God. No. No!

The second he slipped his fingers past my swollen folds, I closed my eyes. This had to be a nightmare. Then why was I so wet? Why was my body reacting this way?

  Wake up. Wake up, Casey.

He thrust his fingers deep inside, pumping in a brutal manner, rubbing his thumb around my clit.

“Very nice, Viper,” the sergeant chortled. “You may be allowed some time with her for your hard work in helping to apprehend a disgusting piece of trash.” He smiled as he studied me, the same damn glee in his eyes. “I can’t wait to see you punished. It will be such a joy.”

What? This had to be nothing more than a nightmare.

The beast twisted my head until I could see his face. Jesus. Christ. The Viper grinned evilly as he continued fondling me, plunging in even deeper, every thrust hard and fast. When the sergeant gave him another nod, the creatures hissed before easing his hand to his face. I was mortified to see my juices slickening his fingers. What was wrong with me?

The sergeant eased what looked like an old-fashioned syringe into his hand, closing the distance. “Now, this isn’t going to hurt one bit.” The moment he jabbed the four-inch needle into my arm, he threw his head back, laughing.

I twisted as much as my body would allow, moaning from the intense pain, unable to take my eyes off the Viper.

As he shoved the metal-cased digits into his mouth, the sucking sounds forcing bile into my throat, I realized life as I knew it was over.

There would be no fairness in the court, no way of defending myself. I’d been tried and convicted of attempting to expose the truth.

I was now nothing more than an object, a possession of the State.

Soon to be worse, a prisoner of the alien race.

And they would do with me what they wanted.

  Chapter Two

  Casey

“I can’t wait to see you punished. It will be such a joy.”

Fuck you. I will kill you.

  Clang. Clang.

What was that noise? What was happening to me?

I struggled to breathe, my chest heavy, but slowly the memories began to slide into my foggy brain. I’d been abducted.

Blinking, I tried to figure out where I’d been taken. This had to be hell.

There were no screams of any kind, only agonizing whimpers coming from all around me. I finally managed to open my eyes, biting back a moan. Pain enveloped every inch of my system, making breathing difficult. When I was finally able to focus, I struggled to move to a sitting position. I was in a jail cell. Correction, I was in a glorified cage and I wasn’t alone.

There were at least ten other women with me, every one of them wearing haunted eyes, some covered in what had to be weeks of grime. Every female was naked, vulnerable to the captors. And I could tell many of them had been punished more than once.

For the first time in years, I was terrified.

I tried to scan their faces to see if there was anyone I recognized; the damn missing persons cases I’d been assigned. My boss must have thought I was incapable of piecing together the pieces. The poor girls had been taken for nothing more than their concern regarding the government. My gut had told me that weeks ago. Now they would pay the ultimate price.

  Aliens.

Was I being sent to their planet to live out my life as a slave?

“We will be victorious. We are strong, virulent people!”

The voice, the same damn voice I was forced to listen to every single time I left my apartment was there. I was stuck in some vile prison and the damn president’s voice was belting out as if he was standing next to me. There wasn’t a single location, except in private residences, where a Movietron screen wasn’t positioned. The great asshole himself, President Silvio Marchant, believed he was king of the world.

Instead of the horrible, violent creature he truly was.

His various infomercials played day in and day out, a reminder to everyone on Earth that the New World Order had taken over.

  Fuck him.

Peace was the only thing on the minds of the people on Earth, going about their day to day lives as if the twenty years wasn’t looming. There were dissidents who strongly believed the New World Order wasn’t who they purported themselves to be. They were gaining in numbers, no doubt a glitch loathed by both the Malzeons and the government alike.

If only I’d been able to remain numb, pretending like the rest of the world.

However, my father hadn’t raised a follower.

I’d planned on obtaining evidence on the president and his cabinet before going public. What I didn’t understand is what they hoped to accomplish by reneging on the debt. They had to know that the Malzeons would retaliate. Something didn’t add up. The informant was going to spill his guts. God damn it. If only I’d learned the truth. That had been the first step in my mind trying to avoid another disaster. I almost laughed at myself for such grandiose ideas. Who the hell did I think I was, Joan of Arc? Maybe I’d just been a fool to think it would matter, as if the aliens would consider my actions friendly instead of destroying every living creature on Earth.

But that’s all I’d been able to think about, or maybe hoped could still happen since my father’s horrific murder. As I shifted, gasping for air, I finally pulled almost entirely out of the drug-induced fog, grasping reality. Everything was so gray and bitter cold.

“We can save our world as long as you obey.”

Another one of the president’s favorite lines. Sadly, the majority of humans all across the world did just that—obey like sheep.

  Sheep to the slaughter.

A cold chill shifted down my spine. The man was far too powerful, his cabinet members no better than he was.

I was an elite member of law enforcement, a group comprised of the men and women who’d endured years of specialized training, and given certain clearances within the government. The New World Order was afraid. Now I was nothing but a prisoner.

A cold chill swept over me as I scanned the perimeter of the cage, doing everything I could to calm my ragged breathing.

I’d heard of this place, a location where only the vilest criminals were sent to await their fate. I shifted to a standing position, cowering against the wall and trying to make sense of what undoubtedly had occurred.

I’d walked a fine line in my private investigation and lost.

I’d been working on the disappearances and several recent murders on my off time, the result of a tip from the informant. He’d claimed he was a prominent member of the elusive government, a close personal friend of the president, and was able to supply me with exactly the evidence I needed. From what he’d told me, he’d witnessed several human abductions, the well-known and often wealthy citizens plucked from their everyday lives.

  And they’d committed no crime.

Why? Because they knew too many
secrets, perhaps opened their mouths? From what I’d learned, they had no obvious or direction connections to the dissident group, although so much was done in secrecy. But my gut had told me they were a threat against the New World Order in some manner.

No one had cared about the disappearances. People vanishing wasn’t abnormal by any means given the ugly world in which we lived. Then a prominent surgeon had been arrested much in the same manner as I’d been, her incarceration and trial public news. They’d made a scapegoat out of her, attempting to put the fear of God into the dissidents. Recently, the group had begun to call themselves the Dark Resistance. After her arrest, a final red flag had been raised in my mind. I’d investigated, realizing quickly that she’d had nothing to do with murdering three of her patients, but no one had believed me that the woman was innocent. That had been my first mistake. She’d been sentenced to prison.

Or so I’d thought, the public told the same. Lies. All fucking lies.

I’d learned the truth of her whereabouts from the same trusted informant who likely been murdered for talking to me. According to him, the doctor had been used, forced into the worst kind of sexual slavery. That hadn’t made any sense. Only the Malzeons made that type of decision, taking and using women for their people alone.

God. I wasn’t certain what was worse; living life in a cage and forced to perform heinous sexual acts or being forced into hard labor.

However, were humans any better? I no longer believed in good versus evil, right versus wrong.

What had happened to humanity since the various wars from years before? Everything had changed, the new cruel leaders claiming their policies were necessary to keep the peace. The change in leadership had only encouraged vile men and women to take over every political and corporate entity. I knew nothing about King Lorowerd of the Malzeon species except he was ruthless in every manner, his penchant for dark proclivities well known. Evidently, the aliens enjoyed watching the breakdown of humanity while fulfilling their filthy desires.

  Jesus fucking Christ.

Now I had no idea whether I should believe what I’d been told.

Out of the blue, the doctor’s broken body had turned up on the shores of the Virginia Beach. That was unrefuted truth. I’d seen her remains, the savagery she must have endured unimaginable. The people to blame? The government. Her death had been caused by human weapons.

  And hands.

Maybe she’d gathered information about the president’s elite class, threatening to provide information to the Malzeons, forcing the president to order her death. I believed that with all my heart. It had led me to reexamine other disappearances that had been swept under the rug, ultimately believing every single one of the poor souls had been forced onto the pet auction block, every one of them stripped of their lives.

Why would the aliens buy the line of crap? Had these poor men and women done something wrong or asked too many questions? Was the Malzeon king working with the president for some reason? Were the poor souls actually a part of the dissident group fighting the government and their various rules? If so, they’d hidden their association well.

One thing was certain. I’d ruffled feathers. I’d wanted to right the wrongs and in the process of doing my job I’d lost everything. While I didn’t want to believe they could arrest me, I was beginning to realize that in my effort to find the truth, I’d uncovered a hornet’s nest. There was no way what evidence I’d collected on the various murders and abductions would see the light of day.

Even though I’d hidden much of my findings, along with aspects of my father’s work, my instincts kicking into overdrive, sadly, this I hadn’t anticipated.

Given the Dark Resistance was gaining numbers every day, additional Vipers had been requested by the president, dozens of the them created, and more Federation officers trained. The lies the assholes must have told the Malzeons. People were scared to death and they should be.

  Clang. Clang. Clang.

The loud noise brought me back to reality.

I had to get the hell out of here. The biting cold allowed goosebumps to pop along every inch of skin. I had no idea how long I’d been here, whatever drug I’d been given leaving my mouth and throat parched. I scanned the perimeter, searching for the possibility of any way out. There was none.

A thunderous sound created another round of whimpers from the other women, boots stomping on the concrete. They were coming, the Federation officers. And I knew they were coming for me.

There were six of them, all heavily armed, their faces devoid of any emotion. I knew their training, the harsh tactics used when necessary. They were dangerous in their own right, their orders of shoot to kill if necessary, ones they took seriously. I’d always hated them, scourges of the Earth, but sadly, they were necessary for keeping the order.

I remained where I was, attempting to boost what little courage and fight I had left. The cage door was unlocked, the same sergeant approaching me as the others shoved the girls aside. Everything seemed to be in slow motion as he headed directly for me. When he was only inches away, he hissed before motioning to his men, “Shackle her.”

“Where are you taking me?” I demanded.

“To see the judge. I suggest you don’t try and fight or your punishment will be much worse.”

I wanted nothing more than to rip out the man’s eyes with my fingers. I gritted my teeth as cold steel was placed around my wrists, the snap of the locks forcing echoes into my ears.

“You’re an asshole,” I snarled. “Why are you doing this? Do you know who I am?”

The sergeant crowded my space, taking several deep breaths. “I know exactly who you are, Ms. Roberts, and I know what you’ve done.”

“That’s Detective Roberts and all I’ve done is attempt to uncover the truth regarding this vicious game the government seems to enjoy.”

He laughed, his eyes flashing. As if he was a part of the conspiracy. “As I said, if you’re found guilty, you may just get an up close and personal look at that aliens you seem so interested in. Now, unless you’d like to be muzzled, I suggest you shut your fucking mouth.” He turned away, still chuckling under his breath.

“Where is my attorney? I have rights.” I knew better than even to ask. There would be no justice.

Stopping short, he merely tipped his head. “You have no rights, De-tec-tive. The sooner you get that through your head the better off you might be. Muzzle her.”

“No. No!” Even in my bindings, I struggled but to no avail. The thick muzzle was forced over my face, a ball gag portion shoved into my mouth. This was absolute humiliation, reduced to little more than an animal. I blinked back tears as I was led from the cage, my bare feet tripping over the broken concrete. I heard wails of both men and women in other cages and as I was paraded by, the other prisoners inched closer to the bars, studying me as if I were an anomaly. But their eyes were all the same, resigned to their fate.

I was led to another floor, sleek and modernized, much like every other government building, this one obviously used as a courthouse. It was difficult to know where they’d taken me, my rank not high enough to be allowed that kind of information. Only the upper echelon of New World leaders had access in order to keep the prisons safe from the Resistance.

People seemed to be everywhere, milling the hallways and moving in and out of offices. There were even several Vipers and not a single person was afraid of them. Humanity had become inured to the tyranny. No one paid any attention to the naked and shackled prisoner. This was just another day at the office. The officers took long strides, dragging me along like a hunk of meat, their boots thumping on the polished tile floor.

I held my head high as I was finally pushed into one of the rooms. The courtroom was traditional in style, only devoid of the usual furniture. The single oversized podium was positioned at the back of the room. What terrified me were the various apparatuses built out of wood and steel. They seemed so barbaric in nature, antiques from the past, ones only seen in Movietro
n specials.

But I knew what they were used for.

  Punishment.

Spanking benches of various types, ‘X’ crosses, wooden trusses adorned with iron shackles. I was quivering to my very core. I’d never been spanked or otherwise disciplined in my entire life. I’d never wanted a dominating man in a relationship, had never explored the various dark kink that seemed to interest so many people.

My career was all I cared about and now it was gone.

There were three officials from the court standing in the courtroom other than the officers. I glared at the officials, attempting to control my breathing. If one was supposed to be my attorney, I was ready to burst into laughter. This was all bullshit.

Then there were spectators. My God, at least one hundred of them. All dressed in high fashion, my guess was attending some swanky party afterwards. This was nothing more than a show, all to watch a criminal get her due. I could see such a gleam in their eyes. I was so humiliated, I was almost sick.

I heard a guttural sound, almost alluring in nature that drew my full attention.

There was a single Malzeon standing only ten feet from the judge. His iridescent eyes were hypnotic and they were locked onto me, studying me in a seductive manner. As with all the alien men, his body was roughhewn, every part of him muscular and brawny. Standing at almost seven feet tall, his presence reeked of danger. While he wore the skin of a human, I’d realized instantly who and what he was. After all, I’d studied enough of the bastards. I could tell he was one of the commanding officers sent to watch over the proceedings given the badges pinned on his colorful uniform. From what I’d learned, the aliens had final say as to my sentence.

I swallowed hard as I was dragged directly past him, his rugged and masculine scent filling my nostrils. I was immediately aroused, my nipples aching to the point I issued a whimper. Crackling electricity pulsed between us, as if we had some ridiculous connection.

The alien threw up his hand, stopping the progression. Then he walked closer, taking a deep whiff before releasing a single throaty growl. When he issued a second round of guttural sounds, words spoken in his native language, I bristled, jerking forward and hissing.
