Cinderella and the Cyanide

“No way!” Sara said. “That’s fabulous! Like what?”
“Well, for one thing, shoes,” Cinda said. “All the photographers during my big ‘moment of glory’ captured me standing barefoot on the grass. Lots of women wrote in to say that they loved the look, so I designed a heel that’s actually see-through. Marcus has a friend in Italy who’s going to handle production. They’re going to be made out of this sparkly plastic that looks just like crystal, or glass. I even have an interview tomorrow with a fashion magazine that wants to feature the design.”
“You’re such a trendsetter!” Sara said. “A see-through shoe... that reminds me of a story about a princess who wore a glass slipper... but I can’t remember the name of it.”
“It’ll come to you,” Cinda said. “Be sure to let me know, when it does. Maybe I could use it in some of my marketing materials. Mind if I turn on the jets?”
“Not at all,” Sara said.
Cinda pressed a button on the side of the tub, and pressurized water jetted out, massaging her shoulders in the most divine way. She leaned back again, and relaxed into the sensation of the hot, bubbly water all around her.
Yes, being a Princess at The Palace had its perks indeed.
The End
Dear Reader,
I hope you enjoyed this story! I had so much fun fitting the elements of the traditional tale “Cinderella” into a modern-day cozy. I love puzzles, and this certainly presented me with one!
There are three books so far in my fairy tale retelling series. They are:
Snow White and the Seven Murders
Cinderella and the Cyanide
Beauty and the Blackmailer
Other than fairy tale retellings, I also write paranormal cozies. So if you like books that involve magic, witches, werewolves, and a vampire or two, please check them out! My series is called “Hillcrest Witch Cozy Mysteries”, and you can grab the full-length prequel for free HERE.
If you liked the way I re-imagined this fairy tale, please consider leaving a review HERE. It really helps:)
Thank you,
Amorette
