If anyone interrupted his sleep, Orlando was gonna shoot them. He’d had enough chaos to last him for a very long time.
“Was that Dillon I heard?” Newt asked as he crawled into bed and settled next to Orlando.
“He came by to check on us.” Orlando spooned his mate and closed his eyes.
“Oh crap,” Newt said. “Max didn’t take his masking potion and Dillon came by.”
Orlando popped one eye open. “So?”
“Max told me Dillon was his mate.”
Orlando groaned and closed his eye. “Not my problem. They can work their shit out on their own time. I’ve been dealing with enough crap.”
Newt scooted closer, damn near burying himself under Orlando’s side. “I’m sorry I caused all these problems.”
Orlando kissed his mate’s head. “None of this was your fault. You had no idea that marble was a portal key.”
He thought of how many times he’d almost lost his mate, how terrified he’d been that the men after Newt would win. Orlando hugged Newt close, thankful he’d been the one to answer that nine-one-one call. He’s shown up to the scene and had found the love of his life hiding in a closet.
Their first few days together might’ve been filled with chaos and violence, and Orlando still felt the loss of his officers who’d been killed, but he had his mate in his arms, safe and sound, and he looked forward to their future together.
