  By Sophia Hampton

I ONLY WANTED THREE things in life: keep my little brother Lucas out of trouble, finish my degree, and stay the hell away from Will Shriner.

Until Lucas pissed off the wrong people.

And made Will our only hope for survival.

Now he thinks he owns me, and every time I see those dark piercing eyes, I know exactly what’s on his mind:

  To make me beg.

  To make me scream.

  To make me want MORE.

  CHAPTER ONE

Snowflakes landed lightly on Laura Mills' face as she walked from the car to the substation of the Baltimore City Metro substation. The snow was really picking up. They were calling for six inches – the first real snowfall of the season. Laura adjusted her hat even though she was going to go inside. She walked into the lobby and called for the elevator. A dark figure stepped up behind her, cast a shadow onto the floor over her shoulder. Whoever he was, he was standing way too close. Laura didn't have a chance to just step aside and wait for the next elevator. The doors opened up and he just shuffled them both in. Laura braced herself and summoned the courage to face her fellow passenger.

When she laid eyes on the man, her heart stopped. He rested a shoulder casually in the corner of the elevator car; a trace of smug amusement curled his extraordinary features. "You," she gasped. "Why are you here?"

"I imagine that I am going to the same place you are," he said with a touch of playfulness in his voice.

It had been about three months since Laura Mills laid eyes on Will Shriner. Her affair with him was instantaneous, intense, and hotter than a heat wave in July, but brief. She fell madly in love with him but when it came to making a choice between her kid brother and the two of them, the choice was a no-brainer. Laura broke it off abruptly with Will and turned her back on the best sex she ever had, or would ever have, in her entire life. But other than blistering chemistry, they were as different as night and day. Laura was working on her Masters in Criminal Justice and Will was the Sergeant at Arms of the Knights’ Disciples, a notorious biker club. In the split second it took to ride up to the third floor, a flood of stills rushed her mind of the many episodes of their intense sexual history.

"Hi there, babe," he said. His amazing hazel eyes twinkled at her, reminding her of what she had been missing all these months. "You doing okay?"

"Yes," she stuttered. In truth, she had been a wreck. She had left Will to focus on her young brother, Lucas, but Lucas left her anyway. She heard from him from time to time; he was alive, that much she knew, but she learned very quickly that taking Lucas away from the watchful eye of the Knights’ Disciples was a huge mistake. "How are you?"

"I am finally eating at least once a day and sleeping mostly through the night," he said, professing to a broken heart. Laura felt the pangs of mourning the loss of their relationship, as well. The elevator stopped and the doors opened up. Both Will and Laura were heading to the same place, indeed.

Will reached around her and opened the door for her in a gentlemanly gesture. His body brushed hers, making her catch her breath.

"Well, well," greeted Detective Frank Vasquez. "If it isn't the dynamic duo." Will shook the detective's hand. Everyone sat. "I didn't mean to make anyone uncomfortable by calling this meeting. There's a rumor going around that your little brother is making quite a name for himself in the gang he's gotten involved with. Will, were you in an altercation with this gang at Carl's Little Bar a while back?"

Will shrugged. "I knocked some guy flat on his ass. He got in our face while we were having a drink. I wouldn't call it a full-blown altercation."

Detective Vasquez leaned back in his chair and grinned. "That's actually the technical definition of an altercation, Will, and apparently the Marauders aren't forgetful. My guy on the inside said that they are kicking around a little revenge."

Laura interjected, "I thought the guy in the bar was a biker."

  "He was," replied Will.

"But Lucas is with a gang," she countered, "and I thought you said bikers had a code."

"We have a code, sweetheart – I mean Laura. The Knights’ Disciples have a code. There are good clubs and bad clubs. Lucas, unfortunately, is in with the bad guys. They can offer him protection against the gang who harassed him, but he's going to owe them now."

Detective Vasquez said, "That's kind of what I am getting at. I think they're going to call in a debt, initiate young Lucas and pay you back for humiliating them at one of the most popular biker bars around."

Fear racked Laura's body. She was young and fit, but her heart beat so hard in her chest that she thought she was going to have a heart attack. She struggled to withstand the emotional pain she felt. She lost her mother and father and had to become the only parent to her kid brother. If she lost him, she would have no one. She didn't have it in her to withstand the loss of her next and last family member.

Will put a hand on her thigh. "Hey there," he said soothingly, "take a breath. It's going to be okay. We'll get him back."

"We've tried everything," she said before dissolving into full-blown sobs. As she cried hard, Laura could hear the guys r
ush around. There was the definite sound of someone grabbing a tissue box and someone cracking open a bottle of water. She felt a warm hand rest between her shoulder blades, grounding her, calming her.

"Here," Will said handing her the water.

Laura sipped and then she took the tissue Frank offered to clean up her face.

Detective Vasquez looked her directly in the eye. "We're doing our best to extricate Lucas from the situation as we are all the kids while they are still salvageable. I'm obligated to brief you, but you shouldn't feel as though you're to blame for any of this. You haven't had any more incidents of vandalism on your home, have you?" Laura shook her head. "Good. Not being pestered otherwise?"

"No," she answered shortly. Suddenly she was exhausted. "Thanks for filling me in."

"You know," Will began very diplomatically, "Frank, you could just keep me apprised of the details and if there is something pressing that Laura needs to hear, I can tell her. That way we don't upset her unnecessarily."

"That's okay. I have to hear this," she insisted.

  "Laura," Will pleaded.

"It's actually a good idea. I have to keep Will informed every step of the way because his guys are the most organic way we have to learning firsthand what their next move is. We can't afford to have you distressed."

"Did you drive here?" Will asked softly.

She nodded. She didn't feel like driving home; that was for sure.

"Frank I am going to leave my bike at the lot for one of my guys to pick up. I am going to take her car back to her house."

"I can have a squad car follow both of you and give you a lift back," the detective offered.

The air in Frank Vasquez's office was stifling and Laura had to get out. "Okay I got it," she said in a rush, "I have to get out of here. It’s too much." In a haze, Laura rushed out of the office and down the hall towards the parking lot. She paused as soon as she saw light streaming through the windows of the door to catch her breath and to let flow the emotions pent up from months and months of this drama. She had to accept the fact that she lost her brother Lucas to the clutches of a gang.

She heard footsteps coming down the hall. As she bent over and felt her dress hem hike up as she bent forward, she realized that she was too overwrought to be self-conscious.

For the second time, Will placed his hand on her back comforting her, "Where are your keys?" he asked calmly.

She handed him her keys and let him drive as she slumped behind her sunglasses in the passenger seat, avoiding the sun of a crisp, near-winter day. Fortunately the house where she grew up and where she had raised up her younger brother was not far from the police station. The problem was that it was so empty and she was now going there with a new, fresher aloneness.

  CHAPTER TWO

Will pulled into her driveway and came round to open her door for her. Grief made her mind hazy. He braced her against his powerful body. She could feel the definition of his form even as her body gently brushed it as she clumsily walked to her front door. Will turned the lock with his own key. She looked up to him with question.

"Still have mine from when I stayed here," he explained. He led her up to her room and encouraged her to lie atop the bedding. He skimmed off the shoulders of her dress and peeled it downward.

She protested, "Will, I can't do this," she said.

"Just a massage. I promise," he said. "For your own good. You need this."

So Laura submitted. The feel of his hands on her skin were unspeakably soothing. Warmth radiated through her shoulders, down her spine, everywhere he touched. He kneaded her flesh deeply pushing away grief from her. Finally he straddled her to better access her body. He rolled his knuckles into the small of her back to make her muscles more pliant. Her spine lost its stiffness and achiness. His dismounted her. His hands traveled over the firm hills of her buttocks and dangerously close to her center as he worked the tight backs of her legs down to her calves and feet.

Each next section of her body was more sensually stimulating than the one before. His pressure to the inside of her foot had direct effect on her foot causing her core to clench. Laura gasped. There was no covering up that he was turning her on like crazy.

"You okay?" he asked so sweetly in her ear.

She nodded. It was a lie. She was not okay.

He had her suffering. "Do you need something from me?" he asked.

She nodded again. She did, indeed, need something from him: him.

Will stooped to her spine and trailed it with light ticklish kisses. He braced her shoulders to keep her body still so she would fully absorb their effect. Her arousal could not disperse; it collected at her core. She was at once achingly empty. Her mind, her instincts craved one thing: to have Will Shriner deep inside her. She spun around onto her back so now his mouth was at her belly. He licked her belly button. Laura was kicking with pleasure. She reached for his hand and placed it between her legs to show him how much he excited her.

He flashed a broad smile. His teeth were bright, straight and even. His lips were full and luscious trimmed with a need to shave. Laura craned up to kiss him. She could hear him unfasten his belt buckle and kick down his jeans. The skin of his abdomen was now warming hers. He maneuvered her legs around his hips. His erection grazed the soft interior of her thighs. She reached between them and gripped the hard length. She teased him and her both, flicking the soft-skinned head at her wet entrance.

"You're mean," he said between kisses. He gently overpowered her hand and pushed himself inside.

Laura collapsed back on the fluffy bedding and simply enjoyed the feel of him. She drew back her knees to give him a full view of their joining. The look on his face said it all. He glazed over with a smoky look as he drove into her. To excite him excited her. She cocked her knees to provide a counter rhythm against his. The agitation was delicious and the rocking caused her breasts to gently bobble. He reached to her erect nipple and gave it a firm squeeze. The pain was like salted caramel – both savory and sweet. In response, she touched herself and gave herself pleasure, but not too much. She liked to sustain her erotic suffering, to make it last.

Will picked up his pace, mindlessly pumping, moaning to the gods. Laura felt that perceptible shift. She was going to come. From deep within, she released a guttural wail to shout out her climax. Will was right behind her, crying out with the ultimate culmination. How sweet it was to feel her flesh clench on his amazing hardness. She was paralyzed with absolute bliss, taking all that he had to give. His cries told on him that he was about to burst. She did her best to rock against him to return and prolong the exquisite sensation that he was giving to her, though she was still stunned by their experience. Finally they crumpled against the bedding.

“Oh my god,” he said to Laura. “I meant to just be kind to you – I swear,” he said as though he couldn’t help himself.

“I completely understand,” Laura shook her head. “I think we are doomed to this if we have just the slightest window of opportunity.” It sounded like she was kidding, but she was not. The chemistry between them was so intense, the magnetism so strong that neither of them could resist. They were a couple of animals in the presence of the other.

Will propped up on his elbows and looked at her earnestly. “I am sorry,” he said.

“That’s really not what a girl likes to hear after sex,” Laura smiled.

“Well the honest answer is,” he leaned down and kissed her, “I would so do this over again and again . . . and again.” His voice was scorching, his tone carnal; she would have to make up her mind whether or not she was going to go along with round two or cut things off as they stood. Will was able to regroup very quickly physically and the two of them together were always on the verge. They could be having sex again that fast.

“It’s very difficult to pass up not spending the entire day here in bed with you,” she said. “I had an exquisite time with you, but I can’t do another rushed relationship. It breaks my heart to make choices.” Laura was t
alking about the choice she had to make a few months prior when she felt she had to choose between the scalding romance she was having with him or the welfare of her younger brother. It seemed like just because the romance was there from the first chance they got, it was easy to dismiss it as nothing more than lust. Lust was a huge part of it, but there was more to it. But it was as if she didn’t allow herself to take it seriously because of its fast and furious start. The tears were completely real.

Will stroked her hair. “We always have choices to make.” The room was heavy with silence. “Well,” he kissed her forehead and stood up from the bed, “you have my telephone number. You know where to reach me.” He buttoned up his pants. “Call me any time if you need anything.”

Laura sat up in bed, struck by something that had previously slipped her mind. “But they’re going to get you!” she said urgently.

Will shrugged. “I guess so.” He didn’t seem the least bit scared.

“I can’t just let you go out there knowing that,” she said. He tilted his head and asked for an explanation. “This is all my fault. I am responsible for you being in this mess,” she only half explained. The part of that truth was because she couldn’t bear it if anything happened to him.

“I appreciate the sentiment, beautiful but I am going to be fine,” he said, “but since we are sharing, I honest-to-God don’t like your being here all by yourself.”

“I am fine,” she said. “A little lonely, but fine. I have lots of school stuff to keep me going.”

“How’s that going?” he asked. “Things working out at the volunteer center?”

“I don’t have to work at the center any more. I am actually starting a new round of practicals so it looks like I will be able to keep a closer eye on Lucas.”

“You lost me there,” he said, his face changing as though he wasn’t going to like what he was about to hear.
