These books couldn’t have happened without my editrix, Sasha, who always knows just what I’m trying to say, and helps shape my crude clay into something resembling sculpture. Likewise, a thank you to Kim, whose art has defined my covers not just on this series but on all my books. She’s got a great sense of what sets my books apart, and reflects that in her cover art.
I’d be remiss if I didn’t thank the trailblazers – Bruce Sterling and William Gibson literally defined cyberpunk, and any story to come along in their wake owes them a debt of gratitude. They are the giants on whose shoulders I’ve stood, and for that I am eternally grateful.
For my family in the Greater Seattle chapter of the RWA – every one of you is so inspiring, and so amazing. Seeing you each month makes me want to work harder just to be worthy of your august company. Your boundless optimism, and our tireless championing of the idea that Happily Ever After is for everyone, has buoyed me through the rough spots in this book and my career. I’m honored to count myself among your number.
And lastly for all of you, the readers and fans of our niche genre. Science Fiction Romance is blessed to have one of the most passionate, vocal, and flat out fun fanbases in the world, and I love sitting down to write knowing that my work is going out to you. You are collectively the reason I sit down in front of the keyboard every day, and the payout that makes all the low times worthwhile.
