Married for a Month

“Not a fucking chance,” Alec replied. “I put up with Chase’s irritating-as-fuck habits for the full thirty days. You get to grace us with your floral presence for the next few hours.”
“Excuse me?” I protested. “Irritating as fuck? If memory serves, you just begged to put up with those habits for the rest of our lives.”
I loved the sound of that. The rest our lives. I didn’t know if I’d ever get tired of hearing it.
“What?” Reid asked.
I held up my hand, wiggling my ring finger in response.
“No shit!” Reid said, a wide grin spreading. “You’re engaged for real.”
“Yep,” I replied.
“Didn’t I tell you?” Jo asked. “I knew they were perfect for each other.”
I beamed. I felt the same way. I’d never known happiness could be so intense it hurt, but my chest ached with how much I loved him and how eager I was to spend the rest of my life with him.
We’d started out married for a month, but Alec had always been meant for me. Now he was mine to keep forever.
