"Ready to go?" Asher asked, and her mouth was agape as Gwen chuckled behind her. "Go, where?" Amelia asked.
"On a real date." Asher said firmly taking a step behind the counter, and she could feel the customers watching their display.
"I'm at work," she said, and he handed Gwen the flowers before wrapping his arms around Amelia's waist. "Gwen said she'd cover you the day," he tilted his head to the side.
"I can't," she argued, and Asher kissed her forehead as the customers urged her to do as the officer says. "Ah just go will you, can't say no to a man in uniform," one of their elderly regulars chimes in, and Amelia gave in.
"Fine!" Amelia stepped out of his arms. "I'll go get ready."
Asher watched as she walked away. "Do you mind waiting?" She asked, and he shook his head.
"I'd wait forever."
Amelia had never cringed so hard in her life. How could she love someone she knew so little but as Asher stood with his eyes fixed on her surrounded by applauding customers, Amelia knew he was the one for her.
