Take a Chance

Liam lifted his head and met Max’s eyes. His grin was mischievous. “No.”

Max gasped as Liam sucked him hard until all control was shot. He clenched his teeth together to stop crying out as he came, his whole body shaking, and Liam holding him in place, licking him dry.

  ***

It took several long moments for Max’s senses to return. Liam was smirking at him, gently rubbing Max’s cock and every stroke sent another jolt of pleasure through him.

His skin tingled as his heart rate slowed and the euphoria in his head was a gentle glow, but Liam was still half-dressed.

  That was hardly fair.

Max shuffled to his elbows. “Honey, we need to get you out of those clothes, so I can return the favor.”

Liam slid his hand between Max’s legs and he lifted his hips so Liam could stroke his butt.

“I was a bit presumptuous,” Liam said, circling Max’s hole.

His hands felt so good. Max already wanted him again. “How so?”

Liam glanced at him and then away, his cheeks flushed. “I brought lube and condoms.”

Someone was prepared. How long had Liam been planning to get him into bed?

He grabbed the waistband of Liam’s jeans, undoing the button and zipper. “You’re my perfect man.”

  “You don’t mind?”

In answer, Max slid his hand into Liam’s pants and rubbed him. Oh, my, but he was hot and slick.

  Liam moaned.

“Why don’t you get the lube?” Max purred.

Liam was off the bed in a flash, pushing his pants off and bending over his suitcase.

Max tilted his head, enjoying the view.

  ***

Liam’s hands shook as he grabbed the lube and condoms. He’d never seriously thought he’d use them, but now that he was…he was so damn nervous. Max watched him from the bed, a devious smile on his face. God, he’d tasted so good. And his delicious cock was already standing to attention again.

He put the items on the bedside table. He was so hard his balls ached. Max stroked Liam’s cock in a firm but gentle way. He swore, his eyes rolling back.

“You didn’t think I’d let you miss out, did you?” Max asked batting his eyelashes and then those thick, pretty lips wrapped around his cock, and his tongue swirled around like he was licking an ice-cream on a hot summer’s day.

Liam’s legs went weak and he locked his knees to keep from falling. His breath came in short spurts as the tension in his balls built. Reluctantly, he pulled back. He wanted Max’s cute ass.

He reached for the lube and Max grinned, shuffling back on the mattress. “How do you want me, honey?”

In every way possible. “Knees up,” he said as he rolled on a condom and then spread lube over it. He teased Max’s hole, inserting one finger and then two. Max’s breathy moans made him tremble with need.

  “Liam, fuck me please.”

He wanted Max so badly, but he didn’t want to rush. He wanted to pleasure Max again and again. Liam fought for control as he slid into Max. He breathed hard, making sure Max was all right as he moved.

“Yes,” Max gasped, his hand moving over his own cock. “Harder.”

Liam used every inch of his willpower to continue at a slow steady pace as the tension built again.

“More.” Max gripped Liam’s arm and the intensity in his eyes had Liam losing control pumping into Max’s tight ass.

  This was so good.

  Everything about Max was amazing.

He groaned as they both came.

  He loved this man.

  Chapter 9

Early morning sunlight filtered through the window waking Liam. Max was curled around him, his arm holding Liam close. It was the perfect way to start the day. He brought Max’s hand up to his lips and kissed it.

Max stirred, pushing himself closer to Liam’s body and his erection rubbed against Liam’s back. “Merry Christmas, honey.”

“Merry Christmas.” He reached behind to grope Max’s ass. “I like this way of waking up, with you naked against me.”

Max hummed in agreement. “And to think I thought it would freak you out.”

“Never. It’s exactly what I want.”

Max stroked Liam’s cock. “Well, don’t let me stop you.” He grinned.

Liam didn’t need to be told twice.

  ***

“We’d better get downstairs before Trina and the girls burst,” Max said after they’d each showered. “They’re not allowed to unwrap presents until everyone has had breakfast.”

Liam chuckled. “We can’t have blood and guts on Christmas Day.”

Max laughed and took his hand as they went downstairs together. The others were already up and the scents of bacon and coffee wafted from the kitchen.

“Merry Christmas!” Trina launched herself at them, locking her arms around their legs.

Liam’s chest expanded at her exuberant welcome. “Merry Christmas, Trina.”

He exchanged greetings with the others in the kitchen and took a seat at the table. Noel put a plate loaded with food in front of him. “Eat up and we can get to the presents.”

  “Yay!” the girls cheered.

Liam listened to the chatter as he ate his breakfast. He and Max had shared the cost of buying gifts for Max’s family. Now though, he wished he’d bought Max something more than he had. He hadn’t known things would progress this quickly, hadn’t realized how much he would fall in love.

He was pulled into the living room by Trina. Perhaps he could buy Max something more when they got home, something to show him how much he cared.

The kids’ shrieks brought Liam out of his musings as they tore open their gifts in a flurry of wrapping paper and delight. When they were done, they gathered in the corner of the living room to play with their new toys.

With nerves humming over his skin, Liam handed Max his gift.

He ripped open the paper and giggled when he saw what it was. “Now we have to do the movie night,” he said as he waved around the collection of B Grade horror films. “I love it. Thank you.” He kissed Liam, and the rightness of it sung in Liam’s bones.

Max grabbed a box off the pile. “Merry Christmas.”

He unwrapped it to reveal a beautiful snow globe containing a pretty little house covered in snow with a red sleigh outside — the white Christmas he never thought he’d get. “Thank you.”

Max twisted his hands together. “I wanted it to remind you of our Christmas,” he said. He hesitated, his eyes wide and cleared his throat. “I’m hoping it, ah, won’t be the last.”

Liam pulled him close. “I hope so too.” He brushed his lips over Max’s and knew what else he could give him. “Do you remember what you said to Helen when she asked what you wanted for Christmas?”

Max was quiet for a moment. “I said I’ve got what I want — a man who loves me.” He grimaced. “I had that wrong.”

“Maybe then,” Liam said. He took a deep breath. Even if Max didn’t feel the same way Liam wanted to tell him how he felt. “But not now.” He took Max’s hand. “I love you.”

Max gasped and his eyes glistened. “You do?”

  He nodded.

Max launched himself into his arms, knocking him back a couple of steps. Then Max’s lips were on his and everything was right with the world.

When Max pulled away, he grinned. “In case you didn’t guess, that means I love you too.”

Liam’s heart swelled and he clung tight to Max.

There was no better gift he could have asked for.

  Thank you for reading!

I hope you enjoyed Max and Liam’s story. It would be super awesome if you could leave a review wherever you bought it, because I love to hear what you thought of the story (yes, even if you didn’t like it!)

When I wrote my first male/male romance, Place to Belong, I wrote that Sean and Hayden couldn’t have had their happily ever after in Australia because same-sex marriage wasn’t legal. That was in January 2017. Well at the time of writing this, the results of Australia’s postal vote regarding same-sex marriage has just come through and it was a resounding yes - Australians want to legalise same-sex marriage. So now we’re just waiting for the government to update the legislation to make it legal. Hopefully by the time I write my next same-sex romance, I’ll be able to set it in Australia and have my couple marry. It’s about damn time.
