Bound By His Blood

Sheridan laughed then danced a few steps away. She hugged Calliope, Bert, and Valdór before honing in on Leopold then Sullivan. She reached for Brooks before abruptly stopping and holding out her hand. He grinned and pulled her into his arms for a tight embrace.
He met McCallister’s eyes and grinned then let her go. “No threats, McCallister?”
“Nope,” he said. “I know she’s mine.”
Sheridan returned to his side, wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled him down for a long, lusty kiss. When they finally broke for air, the entire room was infused with the pink and green swirled glow again.
“Oops,” she said. “Is that going to keep happening when we kiss? ’Cause it if it is, we’re going to freak a lot of people out.”
McCallister hugged her tight. “God, I love you, sweetheart.”
She turned in his arms. “I love you, too, McCallister.” Her expression went serious and she cupped his jaw. “Thank you,” she whispered. “I know how hard that was for you to do.”
He kissed her lightly. “I would rather turn a hundred vampires than lose you, Sheridan.”
“Ooh, that’s so sweet. I think.”
Calliope cleared her throat. “It is time we left this evil place. The Brigade must be informed. They will know what to do with it.”
McCallister settled his arm around Sheridan’s shoulders as they walked from the laboratory. “Didn’t I tell you to stay put?” he asked with a grin.
She lifted a brow. “I couldn’t just sit there and do nothing!”
He slapped her butt and winked. “Well, it’s a sure bet you won’t be sitting down any time soon. I’m going to paddle your butt when we I get you alone.”
She grinned, tugged his hand, and surged forward. “Hot damn, let’s go home!”

About the Author
I've been spinning tales since I was a little tyke. My mom called me crécelle when I was young, which means little noisemaker in French (literal translation is rattle!). I loved making up stories to entertain my family, moving from recaps of my day that included fascinating things like how many crayons I broke at daycare to how fast I could run (not very) on the playground.
As I grew up and found romance novels, I knew without a doubt, this was my passion and my true calling in life. Growing up in a tight-knit family, I knew what true love looked like and I wanted to parlay those feelings into my characters. I love finding crazy situations for my poor characters to navigate through whether it's medieval curses, Regency England treasure hunts, serial killers, or hot menage scenes.
I hope you enjoy my books and I'd love to hear from you! Email me at jenniferaugust@jenniferaugust.com
