Dedication
I was recently online and saw a post from someone and laughed out loud. Over the last ten years that I have been in this field, I had really thought I had seen it all. Alas, I was wrong.
Hypocrisy: a feigning to be what one is not or to believe what one does not: behavior that contradicts what one claims to believe or feel-His hypocrisy was finally revealed with the publication of his private letters; especially: the false assumption of an appearance of virtue or religion.
I do not portray something I am not, nor do I hold people to my standards as in the past my standards are not the same as others. However, I do not say things about people that I would not say to their face, nor do I publicly ridicule anyone in any manner. Mostly because I am not perfect, and I do not throw stones at glass houses, like so many others. I have my own skeletons I have personally dealt with without the help of people who like to judge something they know nothing about. But when I lay my head down at night, I do not have disturbing dreams; I do not have nightmares, I sleep just fine. When I wake up the sky is blue, and the birds are chirping. I will not allow someone to say my sky is yellow, and my bird is a vulture, like so many people have tried. I have seen people torn apart, verbally abused, harassed, quit, cry, become depressed, and quit doing what they love, all because of words on a screen. Well, that is not for me anymore.
While true this is a dedication, and I have written over a hundred over the years to various people whom I have met, to family, to friends. While I thought long and hard about what to write here, I finally settled on making this dedication the last one I will ever write for a book. The people I cherish all know who they are, I tell them that without having to put it in the front of a book. I believe in telling people how much they mean to me often, and recently I have realized that some of the people I have told this to are not worthy of such a declaration, at least from me. It was an extremely hard and painful lesson to learn. After years of being hammered by people, I really thought I had finally discovered a group of people who would not let me down. I was so very wrong.
Because of this, I have decided that I will no longer put myself out there for people to abuse. If you would like to get in touch with me, please email. If you would like to chat with me, sorry, I am not going to be doing that for a very long time with anyone other than the choice few who already know that I will be there for them no matter what. Have I met all of these people, no, but it doesn’t matter to them or me. I hope you enjoy this book, and any others I have in the works because I will not stop writing.

About the Author
Prologue
Miranda ‘Doc’ McCain walked into the hotel room she had just paid for; it wouldn’t surprise her if they asked how many hours she wanted the room instead of how many nights. They had gotten back from Singapore and landed themselves into a situation they had yet to figure out. Shadow, aka the Satan’s Sisters official one and only brother, had gotten them into this mess with the Furies and the Ops Warriors. If she could have choked him she would have. He accepted a job, which let’s just say, was not exactly legal, this was their burden to bare having to be the conscience of Shadow. The man didn’t care about the law; he cared about making shit right. But the mission caused them to cross paths with the Furies, which all in all wasn’t bad. Then they discovered the Furies and the Ops Warriors were close and worked together often. This could be a problem, and Doc wasn’t sure how the fuck they were going to talk their way out of this. The Ops and Furies wanted answers; they weren’t going to like them. However, all had ended well, although Marbles and she were the only girls who had gone. The rest of the Sisters were currently waiting for them to get home.
She turned and glared at the bed. They were in a row hotel, not that there was anything wrong with the hotels but after sleeping in the field for so long, Doc usually liked the c
omforts of a nicer hotel. But since Shadow was with them, and he constantly smoked pot, they had gotten a room where he could do so without being harassed. But this was ridiculous; this place was a shithole. With a sigh, she finally decided she didn’t give a shit; she needed a shower and about twenty-four hours of sleep.
Doc walked into the bathroom and glared at the cheap shower curtain and then took off her clothes, letting them fall to the floor. Ugh, she thought as the soreness of being tense while they were escaping from Singapore finally let go completely. She turned on the shower to hot and then stood under the water for ten minutes as it hammered down on her sore shoulders and neck.
She knew questions were going to be asked, and she was prepared for them. Her team, while in the military, was compiled of all women. Yep, that was unusual, but then so were they. When they first started out, the women had all been assigned to different units, mostly in the admin role as a clerk or even an assistant. None of them had been happy about it, mostly because when they were tested once they joined the military, all of them place high on another field. The problem being: the fields they excelled in were combat ready fields, which women weren’t allowed to be placed in.
Doc had scored high on being a pilot, which at the time was unheard of. She had joined when she was eighteen and served the first eight years as a medic. Doc knew she was good at it as well, she had her license to be a PA. She had been smart and taken college courses while in the military. But when the shit hit the fan when the base she had been stationed at in a Middle Eastern country had been attacked, Doc had saved ten men after their Helio pilot had been shot on takeoff. She took over the flying, got them out of there, and then went back for more. She received a commendation for it and then was approached by General Darn to be in an elite and high priority team that worked off the books. She would be able to do exactly what she loved, which was flying and medicine. It had been a no-brainer.
When she discovered the team was going to be all female, it enticed her more. The General explained they were allowing women on this team due to the fact everyone underestimated them, and that was what they needed. When the Satan’s Sisters were sent in, no one suspected them of being on a mission. Doc was the leader since she had obtained the rank of Captain.
General Darn had been the only one they reported to, which since Doc had a little attitude problem with asshole men who thought they were better than her, it worked out just fine. The General respected them, he knew what they were capable of, and because of that, he rarely questioned their actions. Except when Shadow was brought on, the man constantly needed supervision. If they were on a mission, and a civilian needed help, Shadow dealt with them. No matter what nationality they were, he didn’t care, the only thing he cared about was the fact that an innocent was affected by something beyond their control. It took the Sisters a long time to understand what and why Shadow was doing what he did, but that was his story, and none of the Sisters betrayed his trust by talking about it.
She got out of the shower and grabbed a towel and looked in the mirror. For eight years, she had worked in the OSS, and then she had medically retired when she had broken her leg and rods had been placed in it, her entire crew doing the same since the recruits were getting younger and younger. Not that she was old, she was thirty-five, but she was the oldest in the unit. Damn, she thought as she looked at herself in the mirror, she seriously was starting to get wrinkles. Then she shrugged, it wasn’t surprising since the stress of the missions they went on were seriously overwhelming at times. Doc never wanted to be put into a position that literally held the lives of not only the Sisters, but also the civilians they came in contact with. No one could understand how the insurgents didn’t seem to care who they hurt, as long as one of them were American, the rest were casualties of war. The American Government did not feel that way, which was why Doc had been proud to serve, and she would still be there if not for the explosion she had been trapped in.
She moved into the hotel room without worrying about clothes, she was too fucking tired and needed to sleep. She pulled back the covers, and by the time she was settled, Doc was asleep.
Chapter One
Jake ‘Fish’ Lenard and the General, Rick Tang, made it to the compound in the early hours of the morning. Both men had been exhausted and slept at the Ops Warriors clubhouse. Early the next morning, Fish was woken by yelling from somewhere in the clubhouse, and he groaned and stood up. Shit, he was only forty-nine, but right now, he felt like he was a hundred, everything hurt. Monk, one of his investigators and Harmony’s godfather, was going to be here in a few days. He had been the one who helped them dig out the information they needed.
Their ride had been fast and hard, both men trying to make it back to the Ops compound to tell them the intel they discovered about Shady’s mother. The woman was a complete cunt, and Fish was more than ready to bring that bitch down. Monk had stayed behind to see if they could get more information. They had been able to find her location, but couldn’t get to her, or they would have killed the bitch. Of course, she had connections that helped protect her in the US.
Since getting out of the military a million years ago, Fish had used his GI Bill and gone back to college; he had a child to think about, Harmony. Her mother had decided right after she was born she wasn’t mother material. Which left a young Fish to take care of a baby. If the Ops hadn't helped him, it would have been so much worse, he thought. Their support got him through. He thanked God every day for giving him the Ops Warriors when he got out of the service. Creed’s father, Limbo, had invited him to Nevada to check out their club, and Fish had never looked back.
Raising Harmony had been the only thing that was important to him. He’d promised himself that no matter what his daughter would never feel abandoned by her mother, even if she technically was. But he didn’t want that for her, and the men of Ops helped him do that. Their women stepped up and helped him with all those little girly things Fish had no idea how to do. But still, Harmony grew up to be a badass tomboy anyway. He had known she had a crush on Creed and Fork, but when the men claimed her, he was leery. No one was good enough for her, no one. But as time wore on, both men proved they were committed to his little girl, and damned if that hadn’t made him feel better. Now, she was pregnant, and there was no fucking way he was going to miss out on being a grandfather, none.
Fish moved to the bathroom in his room and turned on the water; he needed to get outside and figure out what the ruckus was all about. Fish applied and got his license to practice law in Cali, his job here was to keep these guys out of jail, which at times would prove difficult.
The General and he had become good friends while on the road, doing the surveillance. Both men were protecting their kids and damned if they were going to let some woman do a damned thing to Shady, he and the General considered all the Lady Riders as their kids.
He looked in the mirror, his black hair peppered with gray, his gray eyes still sharp, and damned if the last few months hadn’t gotten him back into shape. Working as the DA in their town, Fish was used to sitting most of the day. He rode of course, but his stomach had gotten a little pouch according to his daughter. Since hearing her say that, Fish decided it was time to get back into shape, hell, he wasn’t totally over the hill, but he was acting like it. Since then he had lost the pouch, and he was back to his tall, muscular build. Harmony laughed and said he didn’t look like a dad anymore; he was a hottie. Fish didn’t know about that, but he felt better.
During their time together, the General and Fish had both talked about how they felt like maybe they were just too old to be doing this shit, but honestly, Fish knew he had a lot of miles left in him. He pulled out his jeans and Harley shirt, put them on, then pulled on his boots and walked out of his room.
“You are going to need to make the call, brother,” Fish heard Creed say. “All I know is, that if that bitch thinks she is going to get away with this, she is so fucking wrong.”
“I still don’t get how the f
uck she could have found out about Dani,” Jack-Jack yelled, and Fish stepped into the doorway. The whole club was there, including the Lady Riders who looked like they could spit nails.
“Daddy!” Harmony called and moved quickly to him. He looked down at her belly, and he grinned.
“Hey, sweetheart,” Fish said gruffly, and then he saw the rest of the women had followed. Fish hugged them one by one until he got to Shady who was holding back like always. “Get your ass over here, girl!” he said, and she shook her head and grinned.
“You know I missed you,” Shady whispered, and Fish hugged her close. Shay needed a father more than any other girl in the club, and Fish had taken the role over without flinching. He pulled back and looked at her belly; it was bigger than Harmony’s and Freedom’s. He raised an eyebrow.
“Those assholes treating my girl right? Looks like you’re gonna gimme a grandbaby before Harmony or Free,” Fish said, and Shay grinned and kissed his cheek.
“They are doing okay, but you know men.”
Fish frowned and then looked up and saw Cajun and Slider frowning. He pointed at them and snapped, “We need to talk.”
Cajun pointed at Slider and said, “His fault.”
Shady rolled her eyes. “Sorry, Fish, my men are dipshits on a good day. Also, I would love to sit down with you and catch up, but we are kinda in the middle of something.”
Fish nodded and looked at Creed then said, “I heard the ruckus, what is going on? Who are we talking about? The General and I know about the woman who was dumped.”
Creed sighed and ran a hand across the back of his neck, and then he said, “It was Dani.”
