About the Author
One of the nation’s foremost civil liberties lawyers, Burt Neuborne has participated in more than two hundred cases in the U.S. Supreme Court, where he challenged the constitutionality of the Vietnam War, pioneered the flag burning cases, and worked on the Pentagon Papers, among many other issues. He is former national legal director of the ACLU, founding legal director of the Brennan Center for Justice, and currently the Norman Dorsen Professor of Civil Liberties at NYU School of Law. Neuborne is the author of Madison’s Music (The New Press) and lives in New York.
